S02.E07: Taint Not Thy Mind, nor Let Thy Soul Contrive Against Thy Mother

Recommended Posts

I especially liked the scenes with Eleanor and Queenie. Elizabeth Hurley was surprisingly good & moving in those scenes. I loved what she said to Jasper. I have such a huge crush on the actor who plays Jasper that I'm easily able to overlook the rapist/blackmailer we met initially & am able to root for him and Lenny.

And how awesome was Joan Collins in this episode? She really brings it.

I fall asleep during the head of security scenes. Ophelia's father is just as boring as she is.

So did Queenie get rid of Cyrus's love interest?

Did you catch the aftershow? I miss Maria Menudos hosting the Challenge aftershows so it was nice to see her. But I really didn't need to see Todd Krisley. It sucks that this show is on E cause I can't stomach the rest of what they pass off as entertainment or their horrible selfpromoting commercials.

And the sneak peek for next wk, is Cyrus unconscious or ....what?

Well that was a lot of information! Are they saying that Ted killed Robert as well? I was confused by his twitchy smirk (and the influx of info). So he's getting revenge for his wife's death and now he has a partner to do it with? And you know, Helena and Duchie know about Domino, that they take two of theirs for the one they took... so what are they planning to do about it? It seems like Liam, Jasper, and Ted have been checking into it, while those two have done nothing.

What did Jasper notice on the security camera? Some guy walking by after Eleanor went in her room, but who, and why did that make him think to find out about how long it takes to get back to the castle?

Dominque Jr. is being coerced by her dad... and I guess her telling Liam all those things was really part of the plan? But why warn him at all?

I love that we got to see Helena in that gorgeous cream outfit again, haha. Her scenes with Eleanor were very nice, although they seemed a touch strange since she's been cold up until now. I believe she was genuine, and I'm happy she took Alistair's words to heart. It'll just make whatever happens with Domino even worse, though. Blah to all the Eleanor/Jasper stuff, though. I just can't get into it.

I think it's pretty clear that Duchie killed Dominque... will the twins ever believe it, though? They seem to like her a lot. Duchie was very cruel in this episode, geez. At least Helena and Eleanor are (hopefully) on a better path.

I still can't tell what Violet's up to. She seemed very uncomfortable with Cyrus' proclamation of love, which could be natural, or maybe she realized that it makes whatever she's really up to more difficult to go through with. I wonder where she went (I don't think she was taken by anyone, or perhaps Duchie intervened again), and if Cyrus changed his speech because of that. Because I don't see how it changed anything, everyone knows he's pretty much a tyrant.

I was confused about why my DVR taped an extra half hour this time but it was for the post-show thing. I don't do much besides watch the show but I'm happy I got to see that little preview for next week.

I was bored. I think the whole "Domino" plot is just stupid & boring, it's the Ophelia of plot lines.

Edited: my dvr recorded the after show, & when they were discussing Violet

they kept talking about her in the past, so I don't think she's on the show anymore. so maybe Helena or Dutchie did something to her.

I just full out laughed. It's true. I'm pretty sure I like this show better when it's not trying to be serious. I mean.. I finally decided to just go in this show for what it was, not serious hour of fun every Sunday night and then this episode happened and I was like, "show? what are you trying to do here" it's how I felt when I watched that lifetime movie with Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig and realized they were being serious about the whole thing. Totally unsettling.

I actually enjoyed the reveals (or maybe just the fact that the plot is finally moving forward), but man are there some giant Mack-truck-sized holes in this plot.

-Domino's brother sure waited a looooong time for his revenge. Why now, like 25 years after the actual events?

-Why does the head of security have to have all this explained to him? If Domino's family has been trying to investigate this through legal channels, shouldn't he (as the freaking head of security) at least have some rudimentary knowledge of the accusations? And seriously the crown controls the media so strongly that none of this leaked out in the press? 'Queen accused of killing teenaged heiress society rival' sounds like a muckraker's wet dream - in the real world whole cable TV news channels would be devoted to dissecting this case!

-Why would Domino's brother be happy that the love of his sister's life was killed? As far as I can tell, everyone thinks the king was not involved and heartbroken over her death.

-It seems ridiculously out of character that Helena said a few weeks ago 'well, we killed theirs so now they're killing ours' with a shrug and went on about her day. The implication here is that Liam and Eleanor are in mortal danger, right? From everything that we've seen of Queen Helena, she'd have this guy hanging in the Tower of London by now.

Ted didn't own up to killing Simon, did he? I think that's a mystery they're going to play out for awhile yet.

Queenie and the Duchess may be doing something about Domino, but we're not being shown what. I don't

think they're sitting idly by although they do have their hands full with Cyrus and his privy girl.

On the aftershow the show runner said that they've had the Domino thing plotted from the beginning.

So, apparently not making it up as they go along, although that's what it looks like. I'm just glad we're
hopefully rid of Mandy.

Omgsowicked, I wondered too what Jasper saw on the security camera. I couldn't figure that out or

even who that guy was walking past Eleanor's room. I thought it was her new security guy, the silver fox,

but then it cut to...I forget? Boring Ophelia's boring dad?

Yeah, I think Queenie was being sincere with Lenny too. I teared up when she said that there is one

who has always loved her for who she is. Very touching.

Yeah, I'm still suspicious of Violet. I think Cyrus had a different speech in mind but when Violet didn't

show with that thing that would make him feel better, I think he got pissed & thought Duchy and the
Queen did something to her.

GaT, yeah, I feel pretty much the same way about Domino. The Ophelia of storylines - good one.

I also think that Violet is gone too.

Stella, re: your question about head of security. I think the answer is that he sucks at his job. And he

just sucks in general. In the most boring way.

I think the guy on the security camera was the one who confessed to killing the king last week. I assumed that was footage from the night/time of the murder and Jasper just realized the alleged murderer couldn't have been in two places at once - that's why he was asking how long it takes to get back inside.

That's the thing - I don't think he was watching live footage, but rather the tapes from the night of the murder (granted, they did a poor job of explaining that). We know he's working with Liam to solve the murder, and the look of gritty, nearly psychotic determination on his face showed that he's realized finding the real killer is the one thing that may win back Eleanor. Can't remember if this scene happened before or after the Queen's pep talk - if it was after then I'm doubly convinced that's what was going on.

It was after the queens pep talk. My guess is this is all leading to a life or death situation with Jasper, which will finally win back Eleanor. I have it in my head that this is how it's all going to go down. I watched OTH and I know Mark Schawn's ways.

Stella, good point. Yeah, that makes sense. So maybe that guy going
past Lenny's room was the guy who confessed (sorry, I have such a
hard time remembering some of these names).

Which reminds me: how did Queenie's lover survive that kill setup?
Wasn't he just sitting on a chair & he was shot in the back of the
head? Wouldn't that guy who arranged it have known that he wasn't
killed? What actually went down there?

I wonder if Ophelia is no longer on the show cause it came out that
no one really liked the actress/character? I don't want her to return
either. Couldn't stand her.

Stella & Whosthatgirl, your theory is a good one, about Jasper redeeming himself by
finding Simon's killer.

Jasper was watching old footage. Eleanor was wearing the same sex pistols shirt she had on when she trashed her room. He saw Lucius walking in front of Eleanor's door. He picks up the phone and call someone to confirm what time the King returned to the castle, verifying by the time stamp on the video it could not have been Lucius that killed the king.

Yep, it was Lucius, although I'm still not sure what the hell job he held in the palace.

I think Cyrus was planning on proposing to Violet during the speech and lost his shit when she wasn't there.

I got annoyed with Helena saying nobody had ever loved her. Beck seemed to love her. I'm annoyed that they fizzled that out so quickly...with how into him she was for apparently so long .

Also, first love girl looked an awful lot like polo girl .

I think you meant Len not Helena. But I think Len meant no one loved her the way she is. Beck didn't like certain aspects of her behavior and she constantly felt he was trying to change her. I think that's what she meant by that.
