I loved the episode overall with the exception of some of Barry's over the top antics with the dog situation.  (the ending was good, though).  I had some reservations about Erica's story as well because even though I like that she appreciates her mom in the end, so often in these types of stories she goes way over the top in doing something nice for her mom--to the point that it isn't at all practical.  No teenager is going to go from disowning their mom to having a night of camping together--that just wouldn't feel comfortable for most teenagers in general that are going through the angst of figuring out where their parents fit in their life.

See, I believe Erica's big gesture for Beverly because she's always been a bright girl, and big gestures are very symptomatic of the Goldberg clan. Sure, most teenagers probably wouldn't go out of their way like that, but I totally believe a Goldberg family member would.

Loved the episode. Lots of small details that really solidified it, and Hayley Orrantia turned in a particularly strong performance this week. That final scene between Bev and Erica made my eyes well just for a moment. Also, seeing Lucky in that Eagles jersey was too funny and adorable. I related to both stories very deeply. And the musical cues on this show continue to be perfection.

I don't get excited about watching many shows, but this is definitely one of them! I think whoever is writing for Barry is hilarious - his offhand remarks make me choke on food at least once an episode! Plus I'll never get tired of watching him run :)

Edit: After reading that back, I realized I should probably stop eating supper during this show!

Admittedly this was the 80s and I don't know a lot about ticket scalping laws, but why would the girls be arrested for trying to buy tickets. Isn't the scalper the one doing the illegal business (which, according to Wikipedia, isn't necessarily illegal anyway depending on the laws of the state)? I found that irritating when there are plenty of other ways the girls could have found themselves in trouble with the law.
