Rick Kitchen July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 I know a lot of people haven't given this movie very good reviews, but I've been looking forward to it since I heard it was coming, and I'm not disappointed. I loved it. There's a lot of Spanish in their language. Bob was sweet, and I loved Poochy his pet rat. I hope we see more of the minions. "Bah-nah-nah!" 5 Link to comment
Actionmage July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 Kum-bah-ya!!!!!! It was the sweetest, happiest film about those who serve evil I have ever seen! I haven't read any reviews, but really? How can you not enjoy this goofy fun movie? I love Minion-ese; it sounds part gibberish, part Spanish with the odd English word or phrase here and there. I, too, hope to see at least one more movie with these guys. It was a good time. 1 Link to comment
Browncoat July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 I loved it, too! It was just fun and silly, and the music was great! I hope y'all stayed until the very end of the credits.... Kevin, Stuart and Bob were an awful lot like Margo, Edith and Agnes..... In a good way! 3 Link to comment

GaT July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 I went to go see this (in 3D!) on Friday, & it was sold out! I couldn't believe it, the entire run Friday & Saturday was sold out, so I'm hoping to go sometime next week. Link to comment
Browncoat July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 revbfc, at the very end, Stuart and Kevin played the Beatles "Revolution" -- Stuart on his guitar and Kevin with a triangle and almost the entire cast showed up (including the T. rex and the bear) at one time or another. Bob shouted "Poochy!" at every animal (including the bear and maybe the T. rex). It was cool. I hope that works -- it's the first time I've posted a spoiler at previously! 2 Link to comment

My only real issue is that Bob stole the show so much that I totally forgot about Kevin until his big scene. Edited July 12, 2015 by revbfc Link to comment
Rick Kitchen July 13, 2015 Author Share July 13, 2015 I also loved that the minions call each other "buddy." 2 Link to comment
anyanka323 July 13, 2015 Share July 13, 2015 I wasn't expecting Gru to show up at the end, which was a pleasant treat. The credits sequence was well done. I liked the very subtle references aimed at adults who went solo like myself or were accompanying their kids to the movies. Stuart's Revolution solo was one. The central room for VillianCon as Hall H was well done. Speaking of VillainCon, did anyone catch the possible glimpse of Dr. Nefario holding the shrink ray gun in the vendors hall? With the exception of Sandra Bullock, the voice casting was dead on. Jennifer Saunders as Queen Elizabeth II was a highlight. 2 Link to comment
Browncoat July 13, 2015 Share July 13, 2015 Gru was at VillainCon, too, testing out the freeze ray. Link to comment
GaT July 15, 2015 Share July 15, 2015 Finally got to see this, I went to a 3D show. I enjoyed it, there's nothing deep, just fun. 1 Link to comment
Rick Kitchen July 15, 2015 Author Share July 15, 2015 The best use of the 3D was in the after-the-credits scene. Link to comment
Spartan Girl July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 My mom and I enjoyed it. Echoing the sentiments that a kids movie can be fun without being too deep (although the trailer for the next Alvin and the Chipmunks almost made me throw up my candy). Funniest part had to be when Stuart hypnotized the guards with a rendition of "Hair". And I loved it when they sang "Hey Hey We're The Monkees" as well as the after-credits "Revolution". I had "Poochie" stuck in my head for a long time afterward LOL. 1 Link to comment

NoWillToResist July 17, 2015 Share July 17, 2015 I love minions to an healthy degree, but I have to admit that I was disappointed by this movie. It started out great (their backstory and series of bosses), but most of that stuff was in the trailer. Once we got to the main plot re: the Queen, I felt that it really slowed down and I actually felt kind of bored sometimes. The minions are still darling but...I dunno...I wasn't in love the with movie as a whole. I did like the music though. That was fun... Bob was a sweetheart and his earnest befriending of any creature was endearing as hell. The way he clutched that rat made me 'awwww' too many times. :) 2 Link to comment
Readalot July 21, 2015 Share July 21, 2015 Our family members are big time DM and DM2 fans. We just saw minions last night. I agree the first part was fun but the Scarlett part lagged. But it was a fun summer movie and Im glad i saw it. We love their language, they are adorable so I wouldn't say I was bored. We saw it in 3D, didn't notice any cool effects. I've seen worse sequels. Solid B from me. Link to comment

It started out great (their backstory and series of bosses), but most of that stuff was in the trailer. Have to agree with this. Although they had some good visual jokes, I expected more. I loved the Queen, though, and wished that she had been in it more. Not sorry that I saw it, but wished that I had waited until it hit the second-run theater in my area. Link to comment

beetnemesis August 27, 2015 Share August 27, 2015 What a great movie. So hilarious, I was laughing the entire time. A billion times better than Despicable Me. I give it a 9 out of 10. Link to comment
