AstaCharles June 25, 2015 Share June 25, 2015 So glad to see Jason Ritter in this. I thought he was very funny in the Drunk History episodes. 1 Link to comment
apgold July 2, 2015 Share July 2, 2015 i find it funny that Paget Brewster who plays the mother is 46 and her daughters are 41 (Natasha Leggero) and 36 (Riki Lindhome). 1 Link to comment
editorgrrl July 6, 2015 Share July 6, 2015 Did they quietly recast the show? I was on IMDB and it lists Lauren Ash as playing Hortense and when I looked further it had Artemis Pebdani playing Hortense in one episode. Too bad, Pedbani's hilarious but Ash is due for some credit after being so good on Super Fun Night. I love Artemis on It's Always Sunny. I assumed she became unavailable after the pilot—tho it might've been fun to have a different Hortense every episode. Link to comment

Emme August 18, 2015 Share August 18, 2015 Michael Ian Black will heretofore be Peepers to me. "You sucked my dick, Madam!" Hilarious delivery. He's great as Peepers. 2 Link to comment
Amethyst August 19, 2015 Share August 19, 2015 Michael Ian Black really is perfect in this role. Even his affected accent cracks me up. I'm still laughing at Peepers' saying to Dodo "Don't you understand? Saying yes to you is my morphine." 1 Link to comment
editorgrrl August 23, 2015 Share August 23, 2015 From the "Senate" episode thread: They've failed us with a few other historical figures (Mark Twain, I'm looking at you!) but Freud was absolute gold! Every last thing they had him involved in, either directly or peripherally. I've loved Rich Fuller ever since The Mighty Boosh, and I enjoy absurd impressions that're nothing like the actual person—like Norm McDonald's "Burt Reynolds" or David Walliams' "Dennis Waterman." So I like Twain—and Josh Fadem's "Falling Charlie" Chaplin. And I liked Ghandi & Trotsky more than Chris Parnell's Freud. Still processing how I feel about Stephen Tobolowsky's Edison. Kromm August 26, 2015 Share August 26, 2015 Michael Ian Black continues to be made of win (not to mention that he's one of the only good things in the mostly terrible "The Jim Gaffigan Show" now as well--not to mention Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp as well). Christina Hendricks is doing her role just right too. Heck, actually I think the whole cast is brining it. I do question Beatrice being super-smart one episode than dumb as a doorknob the next, but that's more a writing issue than Riki Lindhome's fault (although I'm sure she writes at least some of this herself). But Garfield is just a little bit weirder each episode, Lillian more desperate and crass, Dodo grosser and Frederick... er... I'd say "dimmer", but really his dimness seems in direct opposition of however dim they have Beatrice be in an episode (when she's smarter, he's more of an idiot, and visa-versa). Link to comment

But Garfield is just a little bit weirder each episode, . What are you questioning? I thought the established that the whole dumb thing was an act. And she ups the ante even more when she's around Frederick because she doesn't want her smarts to turn him off. Or maybe I'm just missing your point? 1 Link to comment
Kromm August 27, 2015 Share August 27, 2015 (edited) What are you questioning? I thought the established that the whole dumb thing was an act.Except they seemed to go back on that in the last few episodes, where she turns into a child and then a porn star. I suppose you could argue that was insanity rather than simply being dumb... but they play it a lot in the writing like she's simply too dumb to know those things won't actually help her (whereas a few episodes earlier they might have instead had her launch some evil plot to get rid of the new wife). Irlandesa August 27, 2015 Share August 27, 2015 Well I do think they played the baby thing as a mental break rather than her being dumb but I understand where you're coming from better. Thanks! 1 Link to comment
Kromm June 21, 2016 Share June 21, 2016 They've been away for months (working on their various TV show projects, no doubt), but a new Mike & Tom Eat Snacks episode just went up. Episode 100 in fact. That's Another Period's Michael Ian Black & The Flash's Tom Cavanaugh, by the way. If you're listening from the beginning though, go here instead. 1 Link to comment
Arwen Evenstar July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 I think Artemis Pebdani was the most memorable Hortense, but since she only did one epi, I have to give chops to Lauren Ash who really came into her own portraying the character, and she looked quite a bit like Artemis for this role. The new Hortense is skinny, but the mole, glasses, and brown frumpers are consistent with past portrayals. Maybe I'm not being fair, but so far we haven't seen much of Hortense for me to decide if I like this Hortense It's Epi 6 this week, so unless they're saving her storyline for last this season... Janc August 25, 2016 Share August 25, 2016 Just discovered this show, and I love it! Love Jason Ritter in this wacky comedy role, I see flashes of his dad John now and then, especially in the eyes. I bet John would have loved this. :( Link to comment
