kassa July 6, 2023 Share July 6, 2023 (edited) The writing is a bit weird - most of the time discovering a cancerous tumor you otherwise wouldn't have known about is a GOOD thing. They may have a case that medics repeatedly examined him and repeatedly failed to escalate it to more comprehensive examination, but I'm not sure really what COVID protocols have to do with it, unless the only reason the medics were on board was precisely for COVID compliance. So their reasoning may be "If this happened under normal working conditions, Sig would have brought him for treatment/Nick would have requested going in for treatment much sooner out of an abundance of caution, but because there were production company medics on board, they both relied on their expertise, and their failure to diagnose correctly turned out to delay critical care." If I were on a jury, I'd consider that a pretty good argument. The captains over the years have seemed to take people back to town when they've been ill and it's not something clear cut that they can deal with on board like a sprain or a wound. But if a trained medical person assures you it's not serious you might very well just stay in bed with an upset stomach while your appendix is bursting. I wonder if there's footage of all the interactions with the medics since they were filming at the time. It would have been an interesting storyline if it didn't become evidence of their possible culpability. Edited July 6, 2023 by kassa Link to comment
kassa August 23, 2023 Share August 23, 2023 Don't see a new episode listed but was a little annoyed at the faux drama about the new "greenhorn." It was pretty clear she was brought on to be an extra pair of hands, no more. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, table sorting, filling bait jugs, maybe a wheel watch --- things that save the guys some time and a few steps, but not a working deckhand. I CAN see the deckhands being annoyed if Keith did this as a storyline and could have actually hired somebody who would do more. Otherwise, good for her helping out, but why pretend she was supposed to be climbing in and out of the pots like a regular greenhorn? Link to comment
NJRadioGuy May 6 Share May 6 New season starts June 11th at 8pm, and I'm guessing with a substantially reduced episode count. They normally started in mid-April. 2 Link to comment
merylinkid May 14 Share May 14 Was coming here to comment on this. I think this might be the last season. Reduced interest and closed crab grounds means there is just not enough reason to keep filming. 3 Link to comment
js9548 June 13 Share June 13 This is a curiosity question. On the episode on 6/11/24, Sig and Jack were racing to the dock to pick up pots. Sig won. Sig mentioned that this was the only spot with pots. Why didn't Sig move his boat after getting his pots so that Jack would be next? I realize there might not be pots for Jack to get yet but wouldn't it be common courtesy for Sig to move? 1 Link to comment

js9548 October 2 Share October 2 I was amazed at Monty who kept his cool under all that pressure. I know I would have fallen apart. How long after docking and getting Keith to medical personal did the Wizard take off again? It didn't seem very long. 1 Link to comment

I finally caught up with this epi and was a bit shocked at how much dithering seemed to be going on. Call Coast Guard and get Keith off the boat ffs! Then the back and forth between Monty, thr EMT, and the Harbor Master made my BP sky rocket! I would have asked if anyone can get on a boat and get to the vessel if it was that dangerous to go into the harbor, and why weren't the harbor master and the EMT on thr same call so they'd u derstand the gravity of the situation? Jesus! I felt like I was going to have an aneurysm watching them. Keystone Cops. BTW, is nobody chatting about epis anymore in tbe epi threads? They seem dead. 1 2 Link to comment
