WendyCR72 April 2, 2015 Share April 2, 2015 The search is on for one of Chicago's most wanted fugitives after several dead teenage girls are found in a Chinatown factory. When the father of one of the dead girls explains that he paid Dennis Lee to have her brought to America, this hits home with Olinsky. Lee is one of the Chicago's most wanted fugitives and escaped Olinsky once before. Intelligence isn't about to let Lee dupe them again and Olinsky's past files prove valuable in finding Lee's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Sean Roman has an altercation with a fellow officer which lands him in a bit of trouble. At the same time, Platt helps prepare Nadia to take her polygraph test after passing the CPD written exam. Link to comment
Happy Harpy April 9, 2015 Share April 9, 2015 (edited) Lots of Olinsky/Voight friendship, lots of Erin/Olinsky friendship = I'm a happy camper. Fleeting moment and in the background, but I liked that Ruzek has Olinsky's back, for better and for worse. I don't know why, it pleased me that he didn't intervene and let Olinsky sort it out. Maybe because it speaks of loyalty to his mentor and trust that Olinsky would not do it in the end, although his attitude also said he was ready to deal with the other outcome. I like Olinsky's wife, so I'm glad that the family and their marriage didn't implose with this case. I warmed up to Roman. Good that hitting another cop, even though he was an asshole, wasn't immediately swept under the rug. Seems that Burgess did the smart thing and went to Voight, when the other didn't want to play nice. You learn, girl! I laughed out loud at the asshole in Voight's office, reduced to a puddle of sweat with one look. J.Beghe nails Hank "Don't mess with me" Voight everytime. And although I warmed up to Roman and I love his partnership/friendship with Burgess, I'd like to see a Nadia/Burgess partnership (maybe next year...I don't know how long it takes to become a police officer, but she seems to take a crash-course). I'm curious to see how they'd work, with their very different background. The Trudy/Nadia scenes made me more aware of the one thing I miss on this show: more female friendships/interactions. I love both Erin and Burgess, but I don't see them becoming partners or close friends, somehow. And I don't see Trudy as a real friend, or partnering with any of them either. Getting Nadia/Erin as BFFs, and Burgess/Nadia as buddies, would imo allow to balance things a bit. I don't know what to think of the new geeky-techie guy. Talk about Hollywood nerds, he's certainly easy on the eyes, but I don't know if he's just awkward or could reveal shady. And the cast is already quite bloated imo. I still wonder why Atwater is here at all because I like the actor, but the character still has zero personality or particular role imo, whereas Antonio has been a bit too much in the background this second half of the season for my taste. Anyway, loved that episode. Edited April 9, 2015 by Happy Harpy 1 Link to comment
MissLucas April 9, 2015 Share April 9, 2015 This is not a show that tends to make me teary-eyed but that last shot of Olinsky's daughter smiling at him made me reach for a hanky. You just knew that he saw all those girls behind her smile. I like Trudy - she's slowly becoming my favorite character on the show. And that scene in Voight's office was just great - even the cellotape and the pocket calculator on his desk were oozing menace (not to mention the not-seen stapler). 1 Link to comment
Xantar April 9, 2015 Share April 9, 2015 I don't know why, but I find Nadia really compelling and very easy to root for. The actress hasn't even demonstrated a lot of range (she's never been called to), but I still want her to succeed. I wouldn't mind having her ride along with Roman and Burgess. And now I'm wondering just how much weight Platt could press. 1 Link to comment
Calamity Jane April 9, 2015 Share April 9, 2015 Any episode with this much Olinsky will always make me happy, but as noted above, the other characters' interactions were also awesome. Not really looking forward to the big crossover event, but this one made me smile and sniffle. Link to comment
Chas411 April 10, 2015 Share April 10, 2015 I saw the episode and loved it. It's nice to see Al get an episode to himself as Elias is a great actor. Now if only Antonio and Atwater can get a some more screentime. I've a horrible sinking feeling that Nadia's happiness is going to be shortlived. I've said for ages that though I think Stella Maeve is great in the role, I'm not sure I could see Nadia fitting in a regular capacity. Haas tweeted that we would have another death in the finale and I could see Nadia dying having a devastating impact on all of the characters. Mouse is such a fresh addition to the show. kixfan April 10, 2015 Share April 10, 2015 The Three Gs was my favorite episode of the series so far. Elias Koteas is my favorite actor and it was wonderful to see him get the chance to shine. Extremely emotional episode that was well written and acted. I think the scene between Al and Hank might be the best scene in the series. It was wonderfully written and incredibly performed by the two. It was nice to hear that things were going well with Al and his wife. She seemed really worried about him which is big for someone who had in the garage for ten years. Nice change to see him sort of approve of Lexi's new boyfriend a drastic difference from the deadbeat one last year. Alvin seems to be a character that has seen his share of sadness and deserves to be happy for a change. I also wonder if Nadia will be the character that is killed off. Her death would impact all the district especially Erin and Platt. I thought I read somewhere that Stella was cast as the lead Syfy tv show anybody else remember reading this? I wonder if the writers aren't foreshadowing that a little in some of the decisions she has made this season. Link to comment
