little scoop.  Lyon reality show???

http://tvline.com/2015/07/27/ncis-season-13-premiere-spoilers-gibbs-bleeding/

Any scoop on my No. 1 show, Empire? –Kendra
For Episode 4 of the new season, the Fox hit is casting the role of Chloe, an aggressive reality show producer who firmly believes in getting good video by stirring up bad ish. Believing the Lyon home to be a veritable hornets’ nest, you can count on her to poke at the troubled fam with a sharp stick.

Thanks for posting. So is Chris Rock supposed to be the guy Cookie snitched on? Im sorry I cant see Chris Rock pulling off the hardcoretype of role. And does Cookie ask Lucious to kill him?

And Cookie and Jamal's relationship crumbling makes me sad. Damn what did he say to make her slap him.

And Dora aka Michael is back

One a side note I saw on instagram the entire Lyons Family were filming in a church, Andre was in a church robe, and Cookie, Lucious and Jamal are sitting on a pew together, Hakeem sitting behind them, so maybe there is a temporary family reconciliation.

So....

  • Michael's returning (what happens to Ryan, I wonder)
  • And Camilla's coming back too. I wonder if his relationship with Anika will just be about the music.
  • Did I see Rhonda digging a grave while Andre watched?
  • Hate to say it, but Jamal's trip to the dark side has only made him sexier
  • Cookie & Lucious' chemistry is still through the roof
  • I'm already WAY too excited about the fashion

Why isn't it Sept. 23 yet!

I knew they'd bring Michael back. I'm pleased, though I'll miss Ryan as well.

While I don't want Jamal to become Lucious 2.0, he is looking fine this upcoming season.

Rhonda and Andre doing a bit of gravedigging. As you do.

Tell me about it. All the spoilers and preview point to an even stronger season 2. I cannot wait.

Season Two picks up three months after the shocking arrest and incarceration of Empire Entertainment head LUCIOUS LYON (Terrence Howard). Still in federal lockup, Lucious is trying to run Empire from inside, while a headline-grabbing state prosecutor hangs her political ambitions on bringing him down - no matter what it takes. Meanwhile, Cookie stages a star-studded #FreeLucious concert in his support, while scheming with Andre, Hakeem, Anika and the business savvy Mimi Whiteman (guest star Marisa Tomei) to finalize the hostile takeover of Empire in the all-new "The Devils Are Here" season premiere episode of EMPIRE airing Wednesday, Sept. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (EMP-201) (TV-14 L)

STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM ON AN ALL-NEW “EMPIRE” WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, ON FOX

Ludacris, Becky G, Kelly Rowland, Andre Royo and Veronika Bozeman Guest-Star

Cookie and her cohorts decide to start their own small record label, but it’s off to a bumpy start as everyone has different visions for the new label. As his first project for the new company, Hakeem decides to form a girl group and woos a hot Latina lead singer (guest star Becky G.), proving that he can be more than just an artist. Meanwhile, Lucious, feeling extra pressure from a bloodthirsty prosecutor, hires a new lawyer (guest star Andre Royo) and records an epic track from inside jail. In Lucious’ absence, Jamal neglects his music and makes business moves that further his journey toward becoming every bit as ruthless as his father in the all-new “Without a Country” episode of EMPIRE airing Wednesday, Sept. 30

Andre Royo? I always see Bubbles from The Wire when he guests on TV shows. He was just on this terrible show called Happyish and I was like "Why is Bubbles living in Woodstock with a Jewish American Princess wife?"

Oh shit! The clip with Anika dancing is hilarious!!

Seems like they announce another guest star every day. Can't imagine how they are going to pack this many guest appearances into the season and maintain any continuity, but I look forward to watching.

I didn't like all the useless guest appearances last season and it just sounds like more of the same in season two. I almost feel as if it's deliberate so the show doesn't have to do the work of actually WRITING for the characters.

Empire EP Confirms Taye Diggs' Arrival in Season 3 'Is All About Cookie'

Quote

Just as we suspected, Taye Diggs new Empire character will quickly become obsessed with the C-word when he makes his debut in Season 3.

“His story is all about Cookie,” exec producer Ilene Chaiken confirmed Monday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “It starts as a Jamal story and then intersects [with Cookie].” Asked by TVLine if Diggs’ Obama-esque Angelo Dubois will be a love interest for Taraji P. Henson’s alter ego, Chaiken teased, “He certainly would like to be.”

In possibly related news, Chaiken also shared that this will be the season that Cookie will “try to leave Lucious,” adding, “She’s going to try to move on… She’s fighting for her life. She’s fighting for her opportunity to start over.”

'Empire': Phylicia Rashad to Recur in Season 3

Quote

The Emmy winner will play Diana Dubois, a powerhouse from one of New York's oldest and most prominent African-American families. As the mother of ambitious city councilman Angelo Dubois (season three guest star Taye Diggs), she has her sights set on higher office for her only son, and she'll stop at nothing to help him get to the top. Diana's interactions with Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), Lucious (Terrence Howard) and the rest of the Lyon clan will lay bare the stark class divides that can exist, even within the black community.

Meet Jamal's sexy new love interest

EW can exclusively reveal that actor Juan Antonio (Murder in the First) will play Philip, a military vet, who runs a PTSD support group Jamal attends. Says Smollett, “It’s someone that for the first time, gives no f—s about his fame. Could not care less and not in a disrespectful way. He just genuinely is not affected by the money or the success or the fame and it’s a very, very honest relationship.”

Empire casting shake-up: Kid Cudi out, Romeo Miller in as Tiana's love interest

Quote

It doesn’t premiere for another few weeks but there have already been some changes to the third season of Empire. EW has learned that actor/rapper Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi has been replaced by rapper/actor Romeo Miller in the role of Gram, a rival to Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) and the new love interest for Tiana (Serayah).

EW originally broke the news of Mescudi’s casting and has learned he left the series due to “creative differences.” Mescudi had already shot scenes for Empire, so this will likely require some reshoots on the part of production.

How Empire will tackle Black Lives Matter this season

Quote

In the second episode of season 3, due to various circumstances we can’t reveal, Andre Lyon (Trai Byers) will find himself racially profiled by the police. “Andre’s story is the story about Andre becoming woke — connecting to his blackness in a way he hasn’t before,” says executive producer Ilene Chaiken.

Adds Byers, “It’s a sensitive subject especially because I’m a black man. I have a black brother. My nephews just came to visit me and looking at them and thinking this is the world that they’re going to grow up in. It’s important that we tell these stories. But it’s also important I think, for this story to be a part of the collective conversation.”
