Kel Varnsen February 24, 2015 Share February 24, 2015 (edited) I understand that. But my question was about a paper trail to the casino. Since, as you pointed out and we all know, the money used to buy the car was was laundered drug money, not casino winnings. As far as the government knows Walt had a big winning at some casino and used that money to buy the car wash. He would have to have claimed that money on his taxes noting it as casino winnings. The casino would have to have some kind of some (falsified) record showing that they paid Walt a bunch of money. Figure out who falsified those records, and that would lead to Saul. I'm going more on what we know - that Saul, in the opening, looked like he was in fear of his life, not fear of the DEA. 2 Link to comment

Presumably she didn't trust what Saul had set up enough to have it be more than a backup plan, so that connection never got made. Link to comment
theredhead77 March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 I just started this and E01 bored me. I hated the first 4 or 5 episodes of BrBa and walked away until friends badgered me into watching it so I'm trying to give it a shot.I didn't pick up that Cinnabon was a flash-forward and thought it was one of the BB "baddies" until I came here. I do like that they started at the end of the journey and hope they end this series at the start of BrBa 1 Link to comment
editorgrrl March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 I only knew the cold opening was the future (or is it present day?) because Gene is balding. I read somewhere that Bob Odenkirk approaches his characters via hairpieces. Link to comment
Ronin Jackson March 22, 2015 Share March 22, 2015 I recognized it was post BB because he was doing exactly what he indicated would be his best case scenario during his final scenes in BB. I thought that was too on point, initially, but now that I think about it, if he was doing anything else it wouldn't have been so easy to determine the chronology. I do wonder how long after Breaking Bad it is... I don't think we have a specific answer for that yet. 1 Link to comment
