DaynaPhile January 28, 2015 Share January 28, 2015 Trivia is my favorite game, didn't see a new thread for it, so I'm starting! What two episodes mention Mozart and Salieri together? Link to comment
Taryn74 January 28, 2015 Share January 28, 2015 Ack! I've no idea! I feel so ashamed. Link to comment
DaynaPhile January 28, 2015 Author Share January 28, 2015 Don't feel bad! I never knew either until today. I'll give a hint...we all know The One, the other is from an early season. Link to comment
M.F. Luder January 28, 2015 Share January 28, 2015 Is it Little Green Men? When Mulder is talking to Senator Matheson? Link to comment
tzus86 January 28, 2015 Share January 28, 2015 I recently watched The Amazing Maleeni and I think both were mentioned in that episode...? I have no idea about a second episode though! Link to comment
DaynaPhile January 28, 2015 Author Share January 28, 2015 Little Green Men mentions Bach, nope. And yes, Amazing Maleeni is one that we are most familiar with. But there's a second. Mentions both together in a similar way as Maleeni does. Link to comment
Bastet January 28, 2015 Share January 28, 2015 I can hear the line "I always played Salieri to his Mozart" (from a guest character) in my head, but I can't place it within an episode for the life of me. Link to comment
joelene January 28, 2015 Share January 28, 2015 Bastet got me to hear it in my head but couldn't figure it out either. I went through the episode list but still didn't get it. Curiosity finally got the best of me and I google cheated. Kicking myself now, I really should've got that one. Link to comment
Taryn74 January 28, 2015 Share January 28, 2015 Oh, dang, that does sound familiar now. Hmmmm. Link to comment
queequeg January 29, 2015 Share January 29, 2015 I have no clue, but good idea on this thread! :) Link to comment
Taryn74 January 29, 2015 Share January 29, 2015 Found it! Finally! Had to do quite a bit of process of elimination on this one. From Firewalker and The Amazing Maleeni. I'll make the next one a bit easier....LOL. Name two episodes in which there is a premonition about the manner in which someone is going to die. Link to comment
joelene January 29, 2015 Share January 29, 2015 (edited) Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose. Though I can't think of an example off the top of my head except Mulder's death that never came through. Aaand... Elegy? I can't remember if the deaths the patient sees already happened of if they were premonitions. But one of the visions was of a girl with a knife in her eye, I think. No wait! That was Chinga! I choose Chinga. ETA: If these were indeed correct, someone else feel free to come up with a trivia question. I've tried but I'm having trouble using my brain thinking right now. Edited January 29, 2015 by joelene Link to comment
Taryn74 January 29, 2015 Share January 29, 2015 CBFR and Chinga were the two I was thinking about, Joelene. :) Link to comment
joelene January 29, 2015 Share January 29, 2015 Yay! I kept seeing Creepy Chinga Child's mother with the knife wound in my head but for some reason my mind initially went to Elegy. Caught it mid type. Anyway, some else please continue with le trivia. 1 Link to comment
Hidebehind January 30, 2015 Share January 30, 2015 In what episode does Mulder reference Scully's graduate thesis? Link to comment
M.F. Luder January 30, 2015 Share January 30, 2015 I wouldn't have known it was mentioned in Synchrony, but I just watched that episode last week for the first time since it originally aired. It's not one of my favorites. Ok, next question: In what episode does Scully reference the near death experience she had in One Breath? Link to comment
M.F. Luder January 30, 2015 Share January 30, 2015 Yep, that's the one I was thinking of! Link to comment
Hidebehind January 31, 2015 Share January 31, 2015 Yay! Name two episodes where the bad guy kills a prostitute (I think there's more than two, but any combination is fine.) Link to comment
Bastet January 31, 2015 Share January 31, 2015 Okay, let's see how close attention y'all pay to the opening credits: What, in place of Federal Bureau of Investigation, does it say at the top of Mulder & Scully's badges? Yes, I know you can easily check. I want to see how many people have taken note of it prior to this, since it took me years of watching to notice it said something other than the actual agency name. Link to comment
Taryn74 January 31, 2015 Share January 31, 2015 Oh no, I have no idea!!! But you sure have me curious now. Link to comment
joelene February 1, 2015 Share February 1, 2015 I know this one, but only because I read the trivia a year or so ago. Never actually noticed it myself! So I'll let someone who actually did see it answer. Link to comment
janestclair February 1, 2015 Share February 1, 2015 I remember noticing it said something different but similar, but not what it actually said. Now that's going to bug me until someone gets it. Link to comment
queequeg February 2, 2015 Share February 2, 2015 Is it Dept. of Justice or something? Link to comment
Bastet February 2, 2015 Share February 2, 2015 (edited) No, although I think there's something about the DoJ at the bottom in small type. Even though there's a big ol' FBI next to their photos, the agency name spelled out above it is fictitious. Which makes all the sense in the world, and is done by any production making prop badges for its Fibbie characters, but it took me until maybe the fourth or fifth season to notice. I'm glad I'm not the only one. We'll give it until the end of the day, and then we'll let joelene take it. Edited February 4, 2015 by Bastet Link to comment
joelene February 3, 2015 Share February 3, 2015 (edited) Right then, it says Department of Investigation! And at the bottom in small letters it says Federal Bureau of Justice. Okay I got one: Name two references of Mulder's fondness of porn and the episodes they're in. Probably easy as there are many! Edited February 3, 2015 by joelene Link to comment
tzus86 February 3, 2015 Share February 3, 2015 The two that come to mind are from The Unnatural (Mulder references overdue triple X tapes while playing baseball), and Hollywood AD (investigating the Lazarus bowl talking about the ambient noise that gets tuned out, like Mulder's porn tapes on pause). Link to comment
Bastet February 3, 2015 Share February 3, 2015 Leave it to DD to include it in both his episodes. 1 Link to comment
tzus86 February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Leave it to DD to include it in both his episodes. Hah, I thought that too. Ok, this may be too easy but it's the best I could come up with. What two episodes feature the Apollo 11 keychain? Link to comment
Taryn74 February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Related to that one, and one of my favorite bits of trivia about this show: Who was the character of Agent Leyla Harrison named after? Link to comment
Bastet February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 A fan who was a friend of mine (and who probably would have thought the episode featuring her namesake was rather lame, but I've only seen bits and she was more forgiving than me if something was 'shippy). She survived several bouts of cancer (among other things) before meeting a metastasis she couldn't conquer. She'd met Gillian (who made Leyla's life by ignoring the "time to move on" handlers at the fan event to grab Leyla's hand and ask her if she was doing okay at the time following the cancer -- Leyla had told her how much GA's portrayal of Scully's battle had meant to her), and been a real presence online, so she caught 1013's attention. 1 Link to comment
Bastet February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Okay, next up ... When the FBI analyzes the numerous pages of binary code Kevin has written out in Conduit, name any three of the five things listed as being found within the data. Link to comment
Taryn74 February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 That's more than I knew, Bastet! I remembered that you knew Leyla but didn't know about her speaking with GA. That's great. (And I totally LOL at her probably thinking the ep was lame. Hee. It was, but at the same time it was made of WIN.) I don't know yours without looking it up so I'll see if someone else can answer. Link to comment
joelene February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Good gawd, I have no idea. Conduit is one of my least watched season one episodes, but I did see it during our rewatch. I think there might have been codes to missiles or radio frequencies or vaccination formulas or something like that. Maybe this will trigger something for someone who's got it on the tip of their tongue. Link to comment
Taryn74 February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Well I'm pretty sure there was a few lines of some famous classical music, so I'll guess Mozart for that one. I also seem to remember something about DaVinci's Vitruvian Man. Beyond that, I don't know without looking it up. And I may be completely wrong too LOL. Link to comment
Bastet February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 I figured this might be a group effort; the scene popped into my head, and I could think of three things the analyst rattled off, so that's the number I decided to go with, but I know it's a rather obscure scene. You've got DaVinci's man, and you're right about a piece of music being another one of them, but it wasn't from Mozart. We hear it, and it's Scully who identifies it. I'll spot you the composer: Bach. As for missile codes, I initially thought that was wrong, because I'd been thinking only of the scene at the field office where the agent tells M&S about their analysis of the data found in the big stack of papers taken from Kevin's house. I forgot about the scene before that, where the NSA agents bust in to ask M&S where they got the first printout they had -- which the NSA says contains a fragment of a defense satellite transmission. And it's possible that transmission contained missile codes, so we'll call that one close enough. 1 Link to comment
Taryn74 February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 I totally cheated and looked it up, so Joelene feel free to take the next one! The piece of music - SCULLY: That's from the Brandenburg concertos. 1 Link to comment
joelene February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 (edited) Hooray for team effort! Especially when you pull answers out of your ass. Do you know what the other stuff hidden in the binary code was, Bastet? Hmm. Okay, got one, probably another easy one but it'll pass the time. Name four episodes where Mulder does his slide show for Scully including what the slides depict, except the one from Pilot. Edited February 4, 2015 by joelene Link to comment
Bastet February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Do you know what the other stuff hidden in the binary code was, Bastet? Yes, in addition to an image of DaVinci's Vitruvian Man and fragments of the Brandenburg Concertos, they found within the binary code an animation of a DNA double helix, a line from the Koran, and a Shakespearean sonnet. joelene February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 They like culture, those aliens. Or whatever went on in that episode. Link to comment
Bastet February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 My favorite slide show is from Bad Blood (reused images and all) -- it's a dead cow. Actually, six dead cows, their bodies drained of blood. This one, and this one, and this one ... There's also an exsanguination slide show in Eve. Darkness Falls features a slideshow of rugged manly men in the full bloom of their manhood. I'm blanking on a fourth right now. Link to comment
