Maybe he did break up with KA since he seemed to have some problems with his wardrobe this weekend.

 

Eh, different strokes for different folks, but he looks great to me (especially during his panel Saturday). Having attended several cons (including ones where I've seen Nathan), they are casual events. At least for the men. I never expect Nathan to look any different than I imagine he does hanging out at his house.

Dont get me wrong, he looks fantastic, but didnt care for plaid shirt look and he was wearing the same sweater as last time.

Im still amazed how much better he looks away from the Castle set.

Wow, what the hell has happened to this show? Katic phoning in that horrible, horrible scene....stilted delivery, zero energy.

The dialogue, a wish from "my MAN" ? The character is talking to a supposed accomplished, educated, well traveled adult - who is opining about a genie. Like it's a real thing.

Why is it that Castle is never sexually interested in his wife? In fact, why is Beckett sexually interested in this version of Castle? I get that the writers are trying to appease the fans by implying the couple are hot for each other but Beckett acts like she has to beg for his attention and Castle acts like he's kissing his sister.

This is by far the worst written and acted snippet I've seen by these folks.

Hey, writers, watch the pilot then watch this scene and try to figure out how Castle went from "bad boy" charmer to just a complete idiot.

No wonder they switched from drinking wine to drinking scotch... If it gets any worse, they might have to start drinking straight from the bottle.

I like Beckett calling Castle "my man."

And another thing, it's a minor thing but I find it distracting, I don't understand why they needed to focus on her pouring the alcohol into the glass, usually when they draw your attention to something like that it's for a reason...here it feels more like they can't edit things properly.

 

Also those tops with bows on have to go.

Not feeling that clip at all, I don't know why but thanks for the link.

They have rarely been able to capture Beckett & Castle interacting as a loving couple in a natural & believable way. It has almost always felt forced to me. From strip poker to the never ending wedding planning it generally falls way short of the mark. In my opinion the closest they ever came for an entire episode was "Murder, He Wrote".

I see Toks answered a tweet addressed to Nathan and Stana, (what's the punishment for reading someone else's mail?) about what would you wish for if you found the lamp, and her No 1 was Castle S9, makes it sound ominously that she will be back if the show is renewed. Would dampen any renewal announcement for me, hopefully there's a rethink on who of the cast is needed during the hiatus if she hasn't already been ditched.

Now why would they both be carrying back packs? Is the cliffhanger them having to go on the run from Loksnore? Not enough luggage for the witsec ending. LOL

 

Maybe they're just the doubles' personal luggage with their bottles of Koolaid and packed lunches to get them through the day.

The only scene where they acted like a couple, that wasn't awkward or one sided IMO, was When Beckett was getting dressed for her first day back after the suspension. (Season 5?) Castle was admiring her, playfully trying to get her to try another shirt, they were affectionate and dare I say, natural looking. Like thy were BOTH interested in each other. MHW was ok....it just warps my head to think they write a scene with him in bed with his beautiful GF all over him at his beach house and he wants to get up, have coffee, and brainstorm about a crime. Awkward.

It's the stand-ins' personal items and not character-related. I imagine they're filming inside that studio and they're being dropped off by the white van coming from base camp.

 

When they actually film outdoors, on a public street or in a public park for example, I've seen them with their own fold-up lawn chairs to sit in too. They also have access to craft services just like any other member of the crew does.

But isn't going on the run soooo much more interesting LOL

 

OLV had them filming at Willow Studios today, the warehouse opposite tomorrow, and in a nearby alley on Wednesday, but that timetable seems to have changed as they have them at all three locations today, and Eakorn of the crew has said that today is Day 8 of 9 so perhaps they aren't filming those multiple endings as reported by TV Line the other day after all.

He wore that at another con a few weeks ago as well. I call it his Comfort!Nathan wardrobe. Looks cozy to me. ;)

I wasn't really judging, except the sweater was pretty drab on Beckett ;-). Looks fine on Nathan. Glad they share clothes, LOL, kidding, I know they aren't the same. I am not exactly a clotheshorse so no place to talk, sitting here in my has-been Seahawks Superbowl tee and yoga pants.

Just making an observation that I thought was humorous.

The Hayley centric episode, I hope she doesn't get a miracle and has to do a runner, never to be seen again but alas looks as if they may even be keeping her for next season too as useless filler. 

At least it looks like Beckett does actually appear in this episode from her dialogue, unlike previously when ABC deceitfully included shots of her in the promos for Cool Boys and The G.D.S.

Is that the episode where one of the 'team' has a run in with the law that leads to a change of heart??  I'm sure I read that somewhere. What's the bet her change of heart becomes about her joining the NYPD (citizenship issues be damned) and her background with the London police/MI 5?? allows her to automatically become a detective.....how convenient.

 

Of course if her change of heart leads to her joining a hippy commune and going off the grid I'd be cool with that....

On the other hand, she's a private eye because she got kicked off the Met.  didn't she?

I'm just speculating - her change of heart has to keep her around in some capacity so if she walks away from the whole PI thing what do they do with her?? Merely speculative - what they do with Hayley from here on in could be very telling for the future direction of the show.

I think it merits discussion

Since I don't think private eye falls under a visa which would apply to law enforcement (if there is such a thing) then she has to have a Green Card or she would be working illegally.

On the other hand maybe if we ignore her she'll just go away. The recent episodes which didn't include her seem to be received much more favourably than the earlier ones. The tone of the comments to the posts by ABC on the official Castle FB and twitter accounts were markedly more positive than for the episodes she and Alexis were more prominent. The last few episodes have shown that it is possible to write good episodes with the original cast even if Castle and Beckett don't appear together on the case as much as they used to.

But that is online. Not to say online feelings should not count. (Hello! LOL!) But a subset of people liking Hayley-less episodes may not represent the whole. (Okay, many may not like her, but I am playing Devil's Advocate for a sec.)

 

Another factor is, the actress may be cheaper to pay. Networks may be happy when fans are pleased but that often falls secondary to the bottom line. Money. If the actress is cheap and in the right age bracket the networks want (as is Molly Quinn), I can see the network keeping her on regardless.

Toks is 40, so if they keep her, I doubt it's her age drawing younger viewers.  She does have a fair number of Castle fans.  In the end, IMO it will come down to what direction they take with a S9 and money.  Always money.

I think 'younger' may be more a factor of less well-known and therefore less expensive. She has a higher voice than SK which also is an indication/trope for less mature.

Hayley is given a background that allows her to be all the things Beckett cannot do now she is a captain, field work, running and fighting, not quite legal investigation.

She also is a more believable part of Castle PI than poor overworked Alexis. University, ESL teaching, PI work, receptionist. When does that girl sleep?

She doesn't. The overly bright red hair is a side effect of the superhero-generating radioactive treatments she's been getting. She doesn't need to sleep anymore. (Yes, I know. I should write TV.)

CastleSeason8. Oh here you go, this was in November.

The breakup was really hard on Castle, is there going to be any lingering effects moving forward?

 

Winter: I don’t think Beckett could stand someone else close to her dying. Beckett is who she is because her mother was killed back when she was 19 years old and put her on this path she is on now. I don’t think she can handle the idea of Castle being harmed. That’s one of the motivations that put her down this path. It was all out of love. Now that we are past that point, we can twist it in some different ways. When people start seeing our episodes we have in the new year they will see the payoff of this new arrangement.

I was so unimpressed with the "pay off" that I stopped watching, well done guys.

As well as a stunt double for Stana, not that unusual, and the guy who was the stunt double for the head assassin in "XY"/"XX", someone has added a stunt driver to the IMDb page for the finale. Toks tweeted that she goes out with a bang, so it looks like the finale is going to have plenty of action to wrap up the season.
