She's very lucky that they caught it in time, that she has access to proper medical care, and that she has Michael to do after care for her.  Not everyone is so fortunate.  I'm glad she recognized both the doctors and others for helping her rather than taking the Rodrigues route and claiming God did it all.

I made it through college without once mentioning a stent. I imagine KJ had no experience with them before now.

To be fair, I have a college degree and multiple doctors in my family and I had to look it up to check the spelling when I had one. Just not a word I use or see written much. Though, in my case, I checked before I sent anything.

Kidney stones are no joke. I’ve had 8 (and still have a few hanging out in my kidneys like tiny time bombs). About 7 years ago, I had one that got stuck. Having had them before, I knew exactly what it was, so didn’t have to bother with diagnosis. I did have to wait over a weekend to see the urologist, but he then set me up for the stent the next morning. Infection. So, I had to wait a month or so for the lithotripsy and take strong antibiotics so it wouldn’t get in my bloodstream.. Not fun, but it all moved fast enough that the infection didn’t get out of control. Just goes to show the importance of good, available medical care.
