possibilities Saturday at 03:03 AM Share Saturday at 03:03 AM (edited) Hmmn. I thought Sharon wouuld be able to get a lot more from the company after all that info was uncovered. But I don't know how she would be able to get Manny out of prison. Why would the company have any leverage for that? And are they setting up a three way competition for leadershio, betw Bode, Jake, and Manny, now? Eve seems to be happy running 3 Rock, so at least that doesn't make it a 4 way competition. Auntie Micky: sad for you. And you can't really expect people to change, sadly enough. But I thought you could legally grow in CA now? It's not like he was cooking meth. Danielg342 Saturday at 04:21 AM Author Share Saturday at 04:21 AM The return of Mickey Fox. Another backdoor pilot I assume. How was this show? Well...sum of its parts, really. Kind of think the drama between Bode and his parole officer was a bit messily resolved, even though it was the right choice. The beginning also felt really, really strange- and implausible too, even if Sharon made a snarky joke about it. Still, at least the show had a believable reason for Bode to tag along with Mickey (who even told Bode that he's not an investigator) instead of making him "superhuman" again. I also thought Vince was very Vince with Jake. Their drama rang true and even Jake has to admit Vince is right by simply saying "I'm not dead". I also have to say that I think that while I disagree with Bode, it's completely in character for him to be mad at his mother for making that kind of a deal. Bode sees things through the lens of honour and moralism, which can allow him to see the good in everyone but be bad at noticing the optics. That's why Sharon is Division Chief and he's not. It did make the Exalta (Oxalta? Don't know how you spell that) plot resolve quicker than it should, even if it was one-dimensional. At least they didn't make Jake's girlfriend evil like they could have. The other big thing is, I guess this is it for Three Rock. Maybe it's for the best, because Three Rock hasn't factored into the show for quite some time. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152788-s03e16-dirty-money/#findComment-8626842
Dowel Jones Saturday at 07:06 AM Share Saturday at 07:06 AM I'm sure glad that a Division Chief and a Fire Captain are so good at legal wrangling that they can face down a huge chemical company. In reality, the State of California would have its legal team at the meeting(s), which would take place in Sacramento, not some isolated fire camp. And CDCR isn't going to wave their hands and set an inmate free just because he got injured at the camp. Eve gives Manny a phone to take to Lompoc? (A federal prison, by the way, not state) That's a felony, Eve. You're not just losing your job if you're caught. Not to mention that if any other inmate heard about it, she belongs to him now. Always a good idea, no doubt because it was Bode's, to climb up on the metal roof over a fire and then open up a vent so all the hot air and smoke rushes through the building and out the vent, thereby blowing the fire out of the small area in the building. And how did it spread through the wildland so fast? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152788-s03e16-dirty-money/#findComment-8626879
Madding crowd Saturday at 11:41 AM Share Saturday at 11:41 AM I think all of these new side stories are a sign the writers don’t know where to take this. I did find it amusing that the actor who plays Brodie played a pot farmer in the show Bates Motel and he’s involved in a pot farm again. I know pot is legal in California so I assume the guy isn’t licensed to grow but they were acting like he’s Walter White or something. Still not great but somewhat less problematic than Eve. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152788-s03e16-dirty-money/#findComment-8627077
Dowel Jones Sunday at 01:35 AM Share Sunday at 01:35 AM You're right, but it's still a felony for Gabby and CDCR does not look kindly on that, even with family members. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152788-s03e16-dirty-money/#findComment-8627291

possibilities Sunday at 03:55 PM Share Sunday at 03:55 PM I get why he was angry and thought it was unjust. But they were also trying to keep Bode out of jail. What they did might be morally weak, but it was legally safe. I actually think it's annoying that he's reckless and unwilling to be practical, and I also think it's annoying that they were not sympathetic to his analysis that the situation is ridiculous, unjust, and morally wrong. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152788-s03e16-dirty-money/#findComment-8627521

And this is why a firefighter doesn't negotiate with a large company. She had no standing to make that settlement, and God help her and "CalFire" (quotes intentional) if someone else died later on and those facts were revealed. Well, alcohol is legal but moonshiners still exist! Yeah, I had to go down the research rabbit hole about cultivation laws in California. For personal use, you can have grow to six plants. That's per household, not "per each person in the household." For commercial cultivation, there are pages and pages of regulations he would have to abide by, along with the relevant fees and restrictions. Interestingly, I wondered if a prior felony conviction would bar him from being licensed, but turns out it would not. Grandpop Wes is a moonshiner. And damn, there is a lot going on in that family 😂 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152788-s03e16-dirty-money/#findComment-8628750
possibilities 8 hours ago Share 8 hours ago So, he didn't want to do the paperwork or pay the taxes, I guess. They could have paid someone to handle all that for him, and he'd get a relationship with his daughter and his grandkids out of it. But I guess he didn't want that. I also think it's being glossed over that he promised two different people his inheritance. I'm not condoning the murder attempts, but I don'tblame his worker for being upset about the deception. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152788-s03e16-dirty-money/#findComment-8628891
