S07.E09: The Kiss

This was one of the better episodes of the season.  And yes, no rookies.  Even Bailey was tolerable once she told Celina what she observed and got out of the way.

While I like the actress, I'm not looking forward to DA office Vivian being a thorn in Mid-Wilshire's side.  I knew she was going to go confront Nyla at the hospital.  I also appreciated the scene between Nyla and John.  Wesley and Angela OTOH because Angela can hold a grudge.

I did find it a little improbable that the girl with all the bullets actually survived but hey, that's TV.

Yeah, I thought obvious blood spurting out of the body = goner,
but apparently not?
Or maybe on this show it means metaphorically a goner, in that she's not going to be on screen again?

I was pleasantly surprised they had Wesley recuse himself. I was already thinking the Lieutenant Provenza (The Closer/Major Crimes) doctrine "it's always the spouse" when Angela was named lead investigator for the attack her partner's husband.

Even If I wish they tone down the endless personal drama of our heroes, this was actually a good episode and the whole season so far has been quite tolerable (if you do not mind for the usual lack or realism).

It is really nice that Celina is such an enjoyable character now. I remember how much annoying she was at the beginning even if I like the actress. Kudos to the writers.

So is Vivian the main villain of the season? She is the usual nasty DA caricature , so very annoying.

That poor actress.  I'm sure she's a perfectly lovely woman but whatever I saw her in first must have been bad because every time I see her, my hackles go up.  I've seen her in several things, NCIS for one, and I get the same reaction every time.

I have never bought them as a couple.  They seem more like people who may have had a serious relationship in college then the paths of their lives went in different directions without animosity.  They run into each other at the grocery store ten years later and can think of nothing to say to each other once the five minutes of catching up is over.

Celina (I think) did tend to her first, putting plastic on the wound. Not that I know if this is at all effective. But yeah, I expected her to die.

During this episode I realized I hadn't heard any of her annoying stuff in a while. I've liked her despite of it, but it is nice not to hear it anymore.

Is it wrong of me to think, when Bailey fainted, "oh yes, kill her off!"
