DanaK February 20 Share February 20 Quote The auditions continue with the next group to show off their culinary skills, the Home Cooks. Eight home cooks use their innovative skills to turn pantry staples and lingering leftovers into delicious dishes that will take them through to the draft in the all-new "Home Chef Auditions" episode of Next Level Chef airing Thursday, Feb 20 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX. susannot February 21 Share February 21 Don't get rid of Jimmy! He looks like Reacher. So far I'm loving all the home chefs, way more than the (blecch) social media chefs. 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151999-s04e02-home-chef-auditions/#findComment-8586932

Frankly, he was the weakest chef and got through by the skin of his teeth. I’m rooting for Arnav. Then Maryam. Honestly I like the finalists with this group. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151999-s04e02-home-chef-auditions/#findComment-8586982
susannot February 21 Share February 21 I like Arnav. Jimmy looked like Reacher but we still have the real Reacher. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151999-s04e02-home-chef-auditions/#findComment-8587075
milkyaqua February 21 Share February 21 Yes, I kept wondering how Jimmy managed to survive as long as he did. Although it would have been interesting to see how much he'd flounder if he'd been selected. Between him and the lady who cut herself in the basement, I figured one of them was not long for this show. I wonder if Nick would have been spared had he turned his fish skin side-up regardless of the overdose of capers? I don't have any favorites yet but Arnav, Natalia, Maryam and maybe Megan seem to be front runners. mlp February 22 Share February 22 Well, darn. I liked the handsome pilot and the lawyer and they didn't last long. I couldn't argue with Jimmy's elimination but I wouldn't have minded looking at him a whiile longer. I wondered if Nick was recruited for just one episode. You'd think that all food-oriented home cooks would watch a lot of cooking on TV and that they'd all know to plate crispy skin up and without anything wet on top. Even I know that. Nick doing that seemed odd to me. I like Arnav. After his first remarks, I thought he was going to be a cocky teenager but I was impressed when I saw the rest of his story. I hope he does well. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151999-s04e02-home-chef-auditions/#findComment-8587944
blackwing February 24 Share February 24 I liked Jimmy but he really was the worst of them, he probably shouldn't have survived the basement. Some of these chefs were doing amazing things and his food looked serviceable but nothing special. There was no way he was going to make it to the final five, he was in the bottom two every single time. I like Natalia and Arnav the best. I find the woman with the cast iron cookbook to be particularly annoying, she will probably be talking about it all season. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151999-s04e02-home-chef-auditions/#findComment-8589694

Nick doing that seemed odd to me. I'm guessing maybe Ramsay specifically warned him about putting the fish skin-side up and he still did the exact opposite, which screams "I'm not going to listen to you and will just do everything the way I want." Who wants to mentor someone like that? On 2/24/2025 at 9:13 AM, blackwing said: I liked Jimmy but he really was the worst of them, he probably shouldn't have survived the basement. Nice guy and great story, but obviously not a great chef. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151999-s04e02-home-chef-auditions/#findComment-8593892
