I don't know, maybe I'm just tired of this show.

I watched Chopped faithfully for years and enjoyed it.  My interest started to decrease when they kept changing the judges and, since they made Tiffani F. a permanent judge, I rarely watch any more.  Also I don't care for the special competitions with gimmicks.  Still love Ted Allen though.

I thought the "auction" thing was ridiculous.  So many chefs became known to us after competing on "Chopped"; surely there are always new chefs who want to appear and - hopefully - charge up their visibility and increase their options.

I don't mind the occasional returning chefs competing on special episodes, but the gambling and other competitions just don't add anything.

I agree re the gimmicks. I fast-forward through all the bidding and other shenanigans, and I also fast-forward through Tiffani. I just want to see good, solid cooking with unusual ingredient combinations. Also: I never want to see another episode like the one a year or so ago when they were given absolutely massive ingredients (like 40-some pounds of cooked spaghetti and a crap-ton of sauce that took up an entire table just for the contestants to use, like, a tablespoon of the sauce). I often feel like cooking shows are wasteful but that was the worst I have ever seen outside of the judges being covered in various food items on Masterchef Junior.

I I like watching chopped. NOT sure about the "bidding" aspect, but I will give it a couple more episodes to see.

Unlike most on here...I dont mind Tiffany..it's Jeffery I can't stand. He hardly EVER gives any positive feedback...I just think he is a snob. Watched The Kitchen and he is just My least favorite.  JMHO..

Which prolly isnt very popular. Lol

Oh no, I think you'll find we're on the same page here.  And he makes it worse with the pretentious use of chopsticks to taste the dishes.

If I remember correctly, I think Martha Stewart is responsible for that! She was on Chopped once a long time ago and used the chopsticks, something about the metal of the fork giving some "off taste" to the food. Yes, very pretentious! Ever since GZ has used them on and off!
