I thought that was John Denver! It sounded just like him, although I couldn't recognize the song. Man, what a voice that man had.

I’ve seen the priest confessional dilemma in every cop show. I have never seen this particular resolution.

With the throw back to the dark ages stuff they are still looking at the 90s as the dark ages. We are way past the point where only a quarter of the population had any ideal about the inside of a Catholic Church confessional seal. I said this about the first NCIS: Los Angeles cast and their probie who came off as so green like he never saw a cop show before.

I did wonder if Randy had not heard of the controversy in using the old police chokeholds that was raging in that period

This Randy-centric episode is all about Gibbs’ Rule #4 — Best way to keep a secret: Keep it to yourself. Second best: Tell one other person, if you must. There is no third best.

Gibbs is fully aware of him being closed off to people for years.

We get to see the badass and the vulnerable sides of Randy, plus parallel situations between him and Father Bobby. They both struggling with survivor’s guilt. Their confession scene is so intense. It eventually transitions into a lighter scene when Randy says “That’s it?”. Interesting sequence.

Kowalski manages to crack Father Bobby only by using John Denver’s Hold On Tightly lyrics. 👏🏻

I also like the funny moment with Dumbass 1 and Dumbass 2.

Franks is so bad with words and talking about his feelings. That awkward conversation about not recommending Lala for a promotion is so cringey. A compliment from him doesn’t sound like a compliment at all. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I guess I haven't been paying much attention, because I have no idea who that is. I could tell by the music that I was supposed to know him, but I don't.

Bugs was the sniper who killed the lady in E01. They call him the “Sandman”.

I thought it was kind of a let down.  Some song lyrics convinced him?  Kinda silly imho.  This show has a lot of potential, but I think they're getting so caught up in the back stories and characterization, that the crime of the week is just an afterthought.  And why is it so damn dark all the time?  It's supposed to be SoCal!

I don't know him either.  And I still can't figure out most of the female cast despite Snazzy Daisy doing their very best to try and enlighten me.

Yeah that makes it even harder to figure out the female cast.  Like there were 4 women at someone's darkly filmed home in one scene and I have no idea who any of them were or even why they were there.  Not a single one.

I'm liking the show a lot so far except for all the mysterious hoard of unidentified women running around in these darkly lit scenes.  I know somewhere in this group is that random woman that cuts hair for free but I will never get her straight in my head let alone any of the others.

At least I do know one lone female cast member.  The secretary who seems a lot smarter than half the actual "agents" put together.
