Wiendish Fitch November 6 Share November 6 What songs brighten your spirits? Life can be stressful, so it's nice to have songs to encourage us to keep going. "You'll Be Okay" by A Great Big World takes a certain weight off my heart. 2 Link to comment
Palimelon November 6 Share November 6 While she's had many good dance songs, I still find this to be one of her most joyous and infectious. Had I been older in the 80s, this would have definitely have been a song I would have played at home while getting ready to go out to club and bar hopping. 6 Link to comment

Bastet November 7 Share November 7 At this point, what will lift my mood is any song about burning it all to the ground, so it's hard to think of songs that typically put me in a good mood; I looked up a few articles, and agreed with these selections: Bill Withers "Lovely Day" Hall & Oates "You Make My Dreams (Come True)" -- in general, and especially ever since the montage with Schneider and Dr. B in the One Day at a Time remake Whitney Houston "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" Katrina and the Waves "Walking on Sunshine" Neil Diamond "Sweet Caroline" -- Trevor Noah's bit about owning your whiteness by your degree of reaction to this song is spot on The Temptations "My Girl" One frequent entry I do not agree with: Pharrell Williams "Happy". I have actually walked right back out of a store upon hearing that on the overhead stereo and come back after another errand in the same lot, it makes me that decidedly unhappy. More when I'm thinking clearly again ... 4 Link to comment
dewelar November 7 Share November 7 Honestly, Michael Franti is probably my go-to feel-good guy these days, for either the happy-peppy stuff like "Say Hey" (which became annoyingly ubiquitous a few years back) or the burn-it-all-down stuff like a lot of his early albums. Here's a lesser-known one of his: 1 Link to comment
Wiendish Fitch November 7 Author Share November 7 I remember when, after 9/11, MTV showed this video constantly. The song still puts me at ease all these years later. 4 1 Link to comment
Palimelon November 7 Share November 7 Good song but my BM song choice would be Is This Love. Something about it makes it just so...infectious, for lack of a better word. 3 Link to comment

KWalkerInc November 11 Share November 11 I like "The Game of Love" by Santana featuring Michelle Branch and "Hella Good" by No Doubt because they'll always remind me of my only trip to a World Series game, in 2002. I was too emotionally wrapped up in the team as my mother grew more ill, and the season imploded three days later, but the songs still make me smile (and I danced to the latter in the bathroom before the game!). I also like "About Damn Time" by Lizzo, which was at or near the top of a weekly music video countdown I would watch late nights for at least six months. My cat would even recognize it and jump in my lap while I was singing along, sometimes looking back and forth between me singing and Lizzo on the screen. 1 Link to comment

Spartan Girl November 12 Share November 12 Why did I post the reprise instead of the original? Because the reprise is more of an adrenaline rush. Or endorphin rush. Both? Both. 2 Link to comment
Palimelon November 12 Share November 12 K-pop isn't my usual thing, and while I'm probably outside that demographic, I do like a couple of artists and some of their songs, this being one of them. Bit of background info: they're a K-pop group with some non-Korean members (3 Japanese members plus one from Taiwan). This song is in Japanese (it's a thank you of sorts to their Japanese fans), hence me posting a video with the lyrics. And while the title may be...ill-timed given what has happened recently, the lyrics are still positive and uplifting. Regardless, it's just a good, fun pop song. 1 Link to comment

Annber03 Saturday at 05:48 AM Share Saturday at 05:48 AM "Always be My Baby" and "Dreamlover" are probably my favorite Mariah Carey songs. Also like "Fantasy", in large part because I love how they sample Tom Tom Club's "Genius of Love" in that song. 22 minutes ago, Jaded said: @One4Sorrow2TooBad that New Radicals song will always be one of my favorite songs in general. Same. I've always liked that song, too. Regarding Bob Marley, I want to nominate this song for the ultimate "feel good" pick: Also want to throw some George Harrison in here - his songs, both with the Beatles and solo, always just give me this calm, "things will be okay" feeling. Also want to include "I Can See Clearly Now" on this list as wlel. I don't think I've heard a version of that song that hasn't been an instant pick me up. 6 Link to comment
