Hmm, I've never started a thread here, but this episode deserves discussion, so here goes... (Note: Let me know if I messed up Mods)

Frasier tracks down a reclusive author at his tailgate party. Meanwhile, Olivia deals with two fake boyfriends in an attempt to impress her sister.

This was far and away the best episode of the New Frasier. A throwback to the old-school Frasier farces of years past. Moved fast, everyone was involved, even David the nephew was tolerable for once. When you can see the joke coming, and it's still funny, you know the writers nailed it. And it was great to see Yvette Nicole Brown. Whoever played Augustine did a great job also.

I agree that this episode was rslly funny and a great follow up from last weeks Cape cod. I’ve said it already but they really hit their stride with Freddy. He’s a straight man to Frasier but his arrogance over his good looks works really well and I’m glad they’re keeping it going. His jealousy over Augustine was very funny.

I think the writers do good in having David in the background. If they get another season maybe they can rehab his character the same way they rehabbed Freddy.

I noticed it was above OG Frasier in the paramount charts for the first time this week so hopefully it continues to track and writers build on the improvements.

This was my favorite episode of the revival as well.  I think it did what last week was trying to do but better.

Yvette Nicole Brown is a funny actress but I often feel like she ends up in projects that don't use her to the best of her ability but the writing here did.  She gelled naturally.

Olivia's story was strong overall and I'm glad that she got the A story.  Part of the reason I loved this episode is that even though I could sometimes see where the story was going (multiple Mark/Marcs), it still elicited quite a few laughs.

And it had some aspects that I didn't see coming even though I think I should have.  For instance, I really should have seen Frasier pretending to be his twin coming but it didn't even occur to me even when I saw him dressed differently.  I remember the conversation at the bar but I thought they had already mined the comedy out of Alan's ridiculous suggestion. But nope, they used it to give the episode a perfect ending.

I'll echo all of the above - I thought this was yet another step in the right direction. I had a few belly laughs. That's a good sign. And yes to them finding a better way to utilize Freddy and hoping they do the same with David in the future.

That was one of the strengths of OG Frasier. We knew what was coming, but the characters didn't. And the writing was so good, and the cast even better, that they could pull it off.

This was the first time we've seen that successfully done in new Frasier. They've come close before, but they hit the bullseye this time.

This has to be some kind of record:
A show taking 17 episodes to find its footing.

When Frasier apologized for his rude twin, I clapped.

The guest stars really gelled with the regulars.

Same. I legit burst out laughing at that. I also oved Frasier's utter confusion when Alan suggested the twin idea to him in the first place, and Alan was just like, "Parent Trap!"

Echoing everyone else, this episode was hilarious. I love how the lies kept piling on and the way Freddie and Augustine kept playing along with everything that was happening was great. Freddie's faux upset, "Oh, no, Olivia, how could you?" when he saw Olivia kisisng the author was great, and I loved Augustine just rolling with pretending to be a famous author. Eve just being so done with Freddie's jealousy was fun as well.

(Also, Augustine was cute! Sorry, Fredide :p.)

And Olivia and Monica's whole back and forth was good, too. I liked Frasier sympathizing with Olivia over having a longstandng sibling rivalry, and I like how the interaction between Olivia and Monica felt so believable and lived in - first time we met her and yet I can already totally buy them as sissters who've got a whole history together.

Yeah. This was a lot of fun.

I felt momentarily sad when Frasier/Kelsey Grammer mentioned his fraught sibling relationship. It sounded to me like a 4th wall break acknowledging Niles/David Hyde Pierce being absent from the show.
And it seems like this episode finally worked because they at last accepted that there is no Niles on screen anymore.
