I very confused about the Safety bake, but I usually am.  I like that most were at least on the right track.    April & Samantha,  who baked the brown sugar ring were so wrong.

Charlotte Russe sounds right, but  I don't think Brandon and Nikki are right with their flavors, and their dessert isn't even cool.  The two men are the only ones who made a white mousse, so I think they're wrong.  .  So, two teams doing a strawberry pink traditional Charlotte Russe.   Yolanda picked this challenge, so you know it's hard to guess.   The two men are the only ones with a white mousse, and I think they're wrong too.  April & Samantha's looks good, a little sloppy.  Lenore & Jessica traditional strawberry Charlotte Russe, looks good, and a great effort.  Nicki and Brando still in the mold Strawberry Mascarpone Charlotte, didn't set up, but holds together for a while, but is liquid and runny, a total fail.   Jesse and Justin looks traditional, but a white mousse. It's very tall, but not totally set, no strawberry.

Strawberry Charlotte Russe, with a strawberry center.  Eliminated team is: Brando and Nikki.

Elimination bake chosen by Yolanda, it's going to be tough.

The thing that confused me about the safety bake was that it was a parmesan and pesto bread.  Given that parmesan is typically a key ingredient in pesto, I wanted to know how the bakers would know they needed to add additional parm.

Enjoyed this episode much more than last week's-primarily due to the fact that it wasn't based on 'which pans are NOT in the kitchen.'

All of the breads looked good to me.  It's very interesting how the teams respond to each other when one partner vetoes the other and the other was...more right.

I had never heard of a Charlotte Ruse Cake before and now want to try one.  I loved the fact that it comes with a ribbon around it-a present and a dessert!

The right team went home IMO.  Their timing and clue gathering has been off a bit in the challenges.  They seem really nice (as do they all) and I wish much success for them.

Joel really makes this show!  And makes it fun!

This was a good episode.  The clues were less cryptic and the teams at least mostly had a good idea about the mystery item.

In the safety bake, what was the ring mold used for?  Curtis had said the pattern on the parchment paper indicated that there was no hole.  So it was just a red herring?  It's a lot more difficult to determine if an item like that was or wasn't used, as opposed to an unopened container of mascarpone or an item that was used in something else like the granola.  They should have had something made with the mold in the fridge.

I liked Brando and Nikki but their mousse was a disaster.

I still think that there needs to be some carryover from round to round.  For the safety bake, the two Canadian guys were dead wrong about the type of bread and the shape, they made foccacia hockey pucks.  But no consequences at all in the elimination round.  I think there should be some sort of penalty for the most wrong team in the safety bake, like less time in the CSK or less baking time.

And I've said before that I think there should be some bonus for winning the elimination bake for the next round.  But I guess the show decides that avoiding elimination is reward enough.
