26 days is indeed very little time for the winner to be considered a survivor. But since people are watching even this new era having cut these days and of course a lot of money, they have no reason to go back to 39 days.

I wonder, though, if the viewing numbers have dropped since the 'new era' has been implemented.  I'm not going to do a deep dive, but it just seems like when I do see viewing numbers that they have dropped.

Does anyone know why they stopped allowing us to see footage from the Ponderosa's now. I know they haven't gotten to the jury yet, but they haven't had Ponderosa footage in a few seasons now.

A proper answer to THAT question would necessarily involve information from sources WAAAY off the reservation of the broadcast episodes.

Rome was being  obnoxious  toward Sol, but he seems  different  at TC, or even after losing  at the puzzle. He really plays to the camera,  but when they lost the puzzle  , he said it was embarrassing,  and he sounds quite normal.

I hope they mix everyone  into two groups,  breaking  up alliances.

I was floored that the others accepted Rome's hovering/bullying of Sol as just another day. Even if I despised another player, I wouldn't physically stop them from "playing the game".

That makes me side eye all of this group, because they appear to not know when to speak up, and/or kibosh bad behavior.

When no one set Rome straight, I decided right then I don't want to see anyone win, especially anyone too apathetic to speak up for another.

And you're right, I think Karma stepped in and adjusted Rome's attitude, to match how he treated Sol.

The sooner Rome is gone, the better.  He just seems completely delusional about his standing in the game and the way others perceive him.  I bet if you were to ask him, he would say that he absolutely is playing the best game and he is in complete control.

I also can't stand Annika.  She is bossy and arrogant and thinks she is a lot smarter than she actually is.  When she went on that journey and the other two asked her if Sam and Sierra are a couple and then tried to explain it away by saying that others said it was because of "the aesthetic".  Just come out and say it... "Sam and Sierra are the only two white people and they are both good looking so everyone assumes they are dating".

So Gata kept Andy for his "strength" and then he proceeded to get them into dead last at the previous challenge when he kept falling into the water.  He survived because his team came from behind and solved the puzzle.  Then this episode, he is now all happy and feels like he is in a safe position?  Umm ok.  I would rather lose Annika first, but I still find Andy's sad sack persona to be grating.

I did find it kind of odd that the immunity challenges for two episodes in a row finish on a very similar vertical build puzzle.  Red team sucked last week, and they sucked even more this week.

I am confused why no one demanded Rome switch out when it was clear his head wasn't in it. Or is that not allowed (in the rules)? If I was there, within 3 minutes, I would've just tapped him out. No asking, no politeness, just "Okay, switch out. My turn..." and so on through the team.

I don't think Sol could have taken over.  Rome and Genevieve were the ones doing the puzzle - Rome could only have traded out with Genevieve.

I don't agree that they couldn't have switched.  Unlike immunity challenges where each person has a designated role (1 person swims, 1 person dives, 1 person retrieves pieces, 2 people do puzzle), this challenge was set up where the entire tribe was advancing through the challenge as a team.  Then at the end, two people do the puzzle.  If the two people failed, I think they could have switched.  Just like making baskets or throwing things and knocking things down... people should be able to switch.  It's just the Rome didn't allow it.

Rome is a bully through and through.  I don't understand why Jeff wasn't more harsh with him and let him off so easily.  Rome said "I wanted to try it and I didn't do well".  Why didn't others jump in and ask why he didn't switch out?  And why did Genevieve just sit there so passively and hand him pieces like a scalpel?  Why didn't she ask to try?

As someone much older than Sue (and also named Sue) I had to replay the scene a couple times because I couldn't believe she said she was 45.  As if.  However, I don't find it unbelievable that a bunch of 20-somethings might believe it.  To them, 40 looks like 60 looks like 80.  I was a little amused at the reaction to this.  'Oh wow, good for you' (or something like that) as if it's an accomplishment to make it to that age and still be able to stand vertically and carry on a conversation.

Not sure if I agree.  I think children might have a hard time determining ages of adults... anyone older than 20 is "old".  Even my teenagers sometimes have trouble.  When I ask them how old a teacher is, they say "old", and I'll ask "like me old, or Grandpa old"?  But I would think even a 20 something can determine if someone is 40 or 60, or at least have something to compare it to.  "My mom is 45 and you look way older than her."

I read Kyle and Gabe's reaction to Sue saying she's 45, not as them believing her, but as them humoring her. Their faces, to me, were saying, "okay, sure, 45. Good for you. That's great. So so very great and believable." To be honest, I find it hard to believe that she's only 59. I don't want to crack on her too hard because it saddens me that anyone feels like they have to do that to themselves, but I think most women look better and usually younger if they just let themselves age gracefully. There's nothing wrong with fighting the aging process a little, but at some point, you just need to realize that you're not going to be 25 -- or 45 -- ever again and you shouldn't try to be.

But she is, in general, a bad liar. "I tripped. I was attacked by a tree. I ... bit my tongue!" LOL at she bit her tongue. yes, that explains why there's blood in her hair and under her nails and all over the machete handle. Tiyana was so creeped out,I'm surprised she didn't immediately go looking for Kyle to make sure he hadn't been hacked to death.

I agree that I find it hard to believe she is only 59.  She looks like plastic surgery gone wrong, especially in the lips.  When Kyle was all "oh, that's great", I wasn't sure if he was saying "wow you're 45 and still doing this?" or if he was saying "you look great for your age".  Because even he should be able to compare her to people he knows that are around 45 and think she spent too much time in the sun.

I’m impressed with sue on 2 fronts.  That red paint splatter was a heinous crime scene.  Production gave her 2 hours to clean that up with no interference lol.  How she got the paint off the actual clue is beyond me!  Plus the area around the water hole also had to be pink and splattered.

Second how she managed to gibberish her way into not having those girls at the water hole actually come around and inspect or touch her was the real miracle.  Sorry but my nature would just be to assist if I saw someone with blood on them from any type of wound, machete or not.  Up close the paint would be noticed.  I know Sue gives off the looney vibes to some extent but that was masterful.

But she didn't and she wasn't.  The two women she was talking to, one of them said in confessional that they are going to keep an eye on her.  They know she was suspicious and probably think she found an idol.

I find Andy's utter uselessness comical and his tribe deserves what they get for keeping his dumb ass around. I don't feel like he's playing a role, he's just really that inept and clueless, but also unaware that he's those things. And in a Mr. Magoo fashion, he'll keep failing forward until he's the demise of his tribe.

I lean toward the school of thought that "old is old" to 20-somethings, but I'd particularly apply that toward young men, who tend to completely zone out the existence of women over the age of a person that they would be attracted to. So whether it's a mom or a grandma, their point of view is pretty much the same.

But I find it hilarious if Sue truly thinks she can pass for 45 and I also wonder what the point of this lie is? It's not day 1 and if she's physically capable of keeping up, did she really think shaving 15 years off was going to help her case?

In real life, your best bet is to lie upward about your age if you want people to think you look great for your age, lol.

there was a weird choppy edit on this part, but it almost seemed more like the girls who found her thought she was crazy, not that she found an idol. Like that she was up there covered in blood, doing something made them nervous but not about idols or advantages.

Well, he generally tells us this in 4-5 talking heads per episode.

Agreed.  Nothing like being out with friends as a 40-year old, being hit on by a couple of 20-something guys, then having their friend who is clearly not interested, ask you how old your grandkids are.

Speaking of blood, often when I see Rome's lightning shirt from the back (how is it still so clean?), especially after a physical elim (last ep, not so much this one, heh), I think he's all scraped up and his entire back is flayed.

I laughed out loud when Sue answered 45 (for her age). Anything over 39 is all the same to these young'uns. Wow, you're 45? Is no different than another one saying Wow, you're 55?  Or 65? Lol, it's all old to them.

Gosh, my sister is only 4 years older than me, and yet I dismissed her as too old to hang with until I hit my 40s and got a clue.

Now I look at my oldest brother, and realize our 10 year span doesnt seem that far apart.

I’m on my, I don’t know, fortieth season of Survivor and it ONLY JUST NOW occurred to me that the production team must have Survivor snakes. Like, recurring cast members, kept in transportable snake habitats so they can get footage of them slithering on the tribe signs and such for use in the episodes.

All this time, y’all, and I’ve just been like “damn it’s cool that the camera people get so many shots of snakes and stuff”

… wait a minute. This means there are probably Survivor bugs, too!

But where would the snakes carry their SAG cards?  I mean - it’s not like they have hands, even, much less pockets….

I was thinking in their hats, but then I realized it’s more likely that they use teeny little buffs. Couldn’t find a pic though.
