Statler and Dempsey are having the time of their lives vanning around Europe, it's so much fun!  Not.  Statler's not "madly in love"; by now, she can barely stand the sight of the love of her life.  Dempsey is realizing how badly she messed up this decision.  I'm not either team Statler or team Dempsey, although I don't like Statler.  Dempsey is fun and alive but is too "We'll  think about that tomorrow" for my taste.  Statler can't plan her way out of a paper bag, and it would be the bag's fault somehow.  If making a living is crucial, and of course it is, where was the communication about logistics and supplies before?

I just thought of something else: there's no library or coffee shop where Statler can work, even get a study room as we have in the U.S.?  I was thinking of a hotspot that wasn't blocked by a mountain.

Too bad Jerrod is already married (nothing against his wife!), for he's a catch for Vivian or anyone else.  Those two are the voices of reason, decency, and common sense.  Josh is the voice of a gaslighter and is just plain skeezy.  He reminds me of Brian on the other show.  I like Vivian, although I wouldn't have had the guts to ask my mom about her sex life!

Meitalia was so wanting three against one, to gang up on Josh for that kid.  Josh better make sure he's protected, as I can see a "whups" baby.  I don't see why Meitalia wants a kid with him at all, nor even marriage with him.  He's done none of the other promises he made.  I think this must be a cultural difference, the parents getting so involved in the wedding and almost forcing them to spend a fortune.  There's no way J. or M. can say, "If you want it, pay for it yourself!"

I completely agree with you on Dempsey and Statler. While I lean much more heavily towards disliking Statler, they both failed to plan this trip appropriately.

Five minutes’ worth of research on Google would have shown Statler exactly what adaptors, etc. she needed. That does not fall under “van maintenance” which she tried to claim is under Dempsey’s purview. Buy two sets of adaptors and cords before embarking on the trip - one set for everyday use, the other set safely stowed away as a back up. Voila, done.

Also, they both should have planned their stops better to be near wifi access. As you say, surely there’s a coffee shop or public library Statler could use?

And finally, they should have agreed on how to spend their days when Statler’s working. Have an agreement up front that when she’s working, Dempsey is free to sightsee and run to town for supplies and food. During Statler’s lunch break, perhaps they can take a walk together. On days when Statler’s not working, they can spend the whole time together. It may not be fun all the time, but that’s how it has to be if one person’s working. If all they want is fun, fun, fun, then they need to be independently wealthy!

But, Statler said she has to work 30 days in a row without a break.  I'm not buying it.
Are we supposed to believe that since she took two weeks off to "get used to van life", she now has to work 30 days in a row?  And I wonder if her work schedule is based on American office hours or a 9 to 5 type schedule where she is. Does she have no flexibility?
Of course we will never get to hear exactly what her work arrangements are.  Whatever they are, presumably the couple could have planned their together time around them.

Okay, I don't pay strict attention while this is on, so I must have missed something.  Can someone please instruct me?

James is an elevator repairman, which seems to me to be one of those high demand/high specialization/high risk/high money jobs.  Why did he think he could move to Indonesia and support himself with a banana chip job for his father-in-law?  The banana chip gig looked pretty basic, which doesn't usually translate to big paychecks.

Did he think he'd go in as upper management or something?

He's complaining about living in his in-laws' house, but he showed up with no money, a monthly car payment and a big car repair debt on top of it.  Where else could he afford to live?  He's lucky their daughter loves him and he's not sleeping in the kitchen, eating scraps.

They're really drawing it out, but James is homeward bound and whether Meitalia goes with him isn't going to make any difference to his travel plans.

Like all 90 Day franchises now, these people are a bunch of morons.

James should never have married Tata Tears if he already knew he did not want children. Especially since he promised her father he'd have kids with her. He has screwed over his own family twice by ditching their company work for a woman - once to FL and now to Indonesia - and I sincerely hope his family never EVER takes him back again. Though I suspect they will because they're as stupid as he is. Tata is a crybaby and I'm over her. Soooo over her. Either it's enough to be married to this man baby without an actual child baby, or it is not. Make up YOUR mind, and take action you silly twit.

As much as I friggin LOATHE Stapler, we saw another side of Dempsey this episode and she is as selfish as Stapler is, so now I understand how these two numnuts got together in the first place. And as much as I hate to admit it, Stapler's right on one point, I think Dempsey IS using her to fund this van life fantasy Dempsey has. FTS. I cannot remember if the van is solely in Dempsey's name or what, is it? If so, Stapler is screwed and will never see a penny of that 'investment' stolen money. She should cut her losses and go home, van life is no place for someone as unstable as she is.

Josh...just, wow! Thanks for showing us who you really are dude! Not just a grifter, but also a nasty, emotional abuser! Lily is partially to blame because she seems to have been out shopping for imported dick, and she chose the wrong dong. But no matter, nobody should have to put up with emotional abuse and that how Josh came across in this episode. Even his brother was appalled! When everyone at the table is saying the same thing Josh, maybe you're wrong dude. Lily should cancel the wedding and ask Jerrod to take Josh back with him. If I were her, I'd be worried about my safety after Jerrod and Vivian leave. She should appeal to Jerrod to help her out of this since he sees what an schmuck his own brother really is. Just, wow.

At first I was all, "Awww, Sarper is such a good person taking care of Shekinah and her nose!" Then I flashed back to being lovebombed by a literal diagnosed narc and it suddenly wasn't sweet anymore. We'll see how sweet he is when he has to go 72 hours without jumping in Shekinah like she's a carnival ride.

Elevator Boy is an idiot, and TataTears is also a dumbass for putting up with him for years. It's difficult to find two people who deserve each other so equally, but I think this franchise might've stumbled upon that with this pair. Just awful.

Wow, Josh is a dick. When you've got an entire table saying, "Uh, dude, you're acting like a prick" then perhaps it's time to take stock in what they're saying? Also, was that dog on the daughter's lap the entire scene in a restaurant?

Stapler and Dumpy are mutual users. Stapler wanted a hot girlfriend with a cute accent and Dumpy wanted her van life funded. I do not think for a dang second that Dumpy felt bad about going sightseeing without Stapler. Suddenly, Dumpy's realizing that Stapler is an actual killjoy and really has to do real-world shit like work and then this van life isn't how she envisioned it. I think if Stapler was getting even a tiny bit of attention and laid, she'd be fine with the whole arrangement.

I feel this marriage needs to end as he's not trying. He promised 5 years ago he'd learn the language and give her babies. He's not tried, at all.

All she wants is to stay out of the US, sell jewelery, and have a baby. I think they should compromise. She needs a child, even if just to justify their marriage, and would be very content staying in Indonesia, while James goes home.

After James divorces her and returns to work, she'd only need $300 to feel supported.

The reality is that Bahasa Indonesia is probably the easiest language to learn because there aren't tenses, I learned it in one month being there having lessons twice a week or so. James is either lazy or an idiot. I'm thinking both can be true though.

Its maddening to watch Statler and Dempsey.... how on earth did they think it would work doing this van life thing without any planning of actual details.  The core foundation of this plan entails something that I think would make both people very unhappy over time - which is that one person is tasked with working a full-time job (ie, sitting at a laptop), while the other one is somehow supposed to keep themselves occupied.

They are confined to this tiny little space. I mean, the bed becomes the desk. There isn't an equivalent amount of "work" for the non-working person to do when living in a tiny space like that.  Not to mention how annoying it would be for both the worker and non-worker to be in that space while the worker works all day. The worker would feel constantly distracted and interrupted and the non-worker would feel bored.

Not to mention how, over time, the worker would rightfully start to feel resentful and jealous knowing that the partner was out galavanting around enjoying the beautiful areas they've travelled to, while the worker must sit in a cramped space staring at a laptop all day.

This entire set-up would require a much higher level of discipline and organization than most people would be able to stick with over time.  So I don't fault either of them for "failing" at that. I think the premise was doomed from the start. Its one of those things that sounds great on paper - we'll have an awesome van and travel all over europe, and you can keep your job and work remote - but in actual day-to-day reality, its a completely different thing.
