Neighbor: Who's The Moss?

Terrariums

Exterminator: The Bee-Sting Boys

Oh man, Simon is the exact opposite of a Not Nintendo Switch. Well, the Bobs have a lot of stuff that needed money to fix, and not a lot of money for anything else.

"I always thought the Frankensteins were Jewish" got a big laugh out of me. I laughed at the awkwardness of the family driving around Mort's hearse. Classic Louise shouting to everyone to toss their dead relatives into the back for twenty bucks a pop.

Linda had lots of good lines tonight, like how Bob would hate being a banker because he'd be so bad at it, and "what's the deal with dead bodies? They're just sacks of skin without souls, right?"

"They'll think I'm selling it."
"Sell what? Christmas cheer?"

Oh man, Gene! Don't give chocolate to dogs! Especially dark chocolate! The scream I made when he did that. Thankfully, this ain't that kind of show and they weren't gonna kill a puppy, especially on Christmas. And this also isn't the kind of show that was gonna let the kids keep the Christmas puppy.

I did like Louise once again falling in love with a cute puppy. "I'm gonna make a sweater out of you." And THIS time she wasn't letting it go. Of course the puppy's owner was a banker and gave them just enough money for the Game Wish. That's full circle for ya.

I'm not crying. YOU'RE crying. Boy, when Louise kept kissing Little Bark Bark, I lost it.

Yeah, I couldn't believe when Gene gave the puppy dark chocolate. Loved his reaction though when Bob told him it was poison. What else was poison? Rainbows? Ice Cream?

Loved the animation when the lights in the yard flashed, the Belchers' shadows moved, too.

I used to play Simon. I guess we got it for our son, but I thought it was a great game. Of course times have changed. And the one in this show was very sad sounding.

I did like that the kids tried to put on happy faces.

I cracked up when Bob said he liked driving the hearse because it was like a boat, then we see it moving all over the road as everyone reacts.

Ouch, that Christmas morning disappointment was brutal, especially with the kids trying to hide it but Bob and Linda knowing how sad the kids were. Thanks to Christmas magic and some dark chocolates though, it all worked out! That was a pretty sad Simon game, it could have at least had some sound effects to make it seem a little less pathetic.

The animation on the lights were really lovely, with the snow it felt very festive. I loved them driving around in Christmas lights in a hearse, classic Belchers.

"Someone actually got a puppy for Christmas? I thought that only happened in movies and insurance commercials."

Little Bark Bark was such a cutie, no wonder the kids fell in love with him immediately.

Burger(s) of The Day: The Havarti Boys Burger, The Grape Days A Leek Burger, Carrot Bueller's Day Off Burger, The Raisin on My Parade Burger

It's really sweet how invested Zeke was in Ask An 8th Grader. I had a feeling somebody would confess to being Miss Am I Normal to be popular, and of course it'd be Tammy. And I figured it would lead to an "I am Spartacus" moment.

"All that vulnerability for nothing? Guess I'm ashamed of my body again."

As much as I appreciated Teddy's plot being mostly in the background (it was a real impressive float!), I REALLY wanted to see just what was going on with the Pioneers initiation. It sounded way better than what we saw in the ep.

There really are a lot of episodes with parades in them, I like how they finally addressed that.

Tina's frustration about the cereal was so real - DAMMIT! I'm surprised Bob let her get away with that. Then she said 'damn straight'.

Louise's bedroom is so cool. I like when the cartoons have growth and let stuff like that stay.

I'm sure Teddy and Mort are going to talk about the 8th grade advice column too.

Zeke being so into the column was perfect.

Frond is always gold. Being so fussy all the time. "Kids give terrible advice."

Linda and Louise made a mistake by writing in as the same person. They should have made it a bunch. It's fair Tina was steamed though.

The B plot with Teddy could have been trimmed for more school time. Bob being just over both plots was worth the B plot.

I'm surprised Zeke was fooled. I figured he's sharp enough to clock Tammy wasn't deep enough to write those letters.

The Spartacus ending was brilliant. Tina was actually good at giving advice too.

Teddy has such a weird grudge against Mort, but he's willing to talk to him over that.

Yeah, I don't know why they did that. Of course it worked for the plot, but it would have made more sense if they had other people respond. Also, it seems like some other (real) student would have felt encouraged to send an email to Ask an Eighth-Grader.

It was so cool that the whole school appreciated what Tina had written as the advice columnist.

Tammy was really really annoying this ep. Not only with lying about being Miss Am I Normal, but how she behaved at the parade. Ugh. But I loved the "I am Spartacus" scene.

Gene: We're a real parade-y bunch.

Linda: Stop looking at your Tikky Toks.

Louise: Tammy really puts the ass in ambassador.

Loved the bits with Peter the soup slurper.

Mr. Frond: Peter, stop slurping.
Peter: Huh?

Gene: Peter, just keep slurping your soup.
Peter: Huh?

Their town really does love parades, glad that even the characters are aware of it. Tina actually gave good advice to "Miss Am I Normal" and it was sweet how into it the kids all got and appreciated that kind of honestly, its good advice regardless of if she's a real person or not. If Linda and Tina had just faked being different people, they could have gotten away with it!

Of course Tammy tried to jump in to make it all about her, even the big I Am Spartacus moment.

Teddy's float really did look cool, I really want to know what was going on there.

We're back!

Season 15, ep 11: Mr. Fischoeder's Opus

Quote

When the Belchers' landlord, Mr. Fischoeder, offers them two months free rent in exchange for catering an important reception at his house, the family must do everything they can to ensure the event goes perfectly.

Neighbor: I Was Born Fretty

Stringed Instruments

Exterminator: Two Can Play At Rat Game

Burger(s) of The Day: I Slaw Her Standing There Burger, Peach Perfect Sliders

Yay, another episode at Fischoeder's house! Of course that means the kids are gonna explore and cause shenanigans, and Felix is gonna show up to ruin everything. Of course the guy Fisch is trying to woo can't stand dumb rich people like him. (And voiced by Stephen Root!), and gets meaner when he gets drunk! So sue me, I love petty low stakes drama like this. Liked that Fisch got his conductor moment after all. And the family finally got to see the symphony! (If I recall, they were supposed to go during Worms of Enrearment)

"It seems like the vibe has shifted. I feel like we went from the beginning of Boogie Nights to the end of Boogie Nights".

Loved that Felix's secret library room was just a boring gym. And loved him dancing at the end.

So happy it's back! And it moves to Thursdays starting on May 29th.

It's Bob back!

Wharf Arts. Nice.

I already know Bob catering is going to go well in terms of everyone liking the food. Peach sliders sounded great. I don't know about the cheese balls and just that. Maybe a third veggie something. That's a lot for only one day's notice. I don't eat beef anymore, but I'd probably have one if that's all that was being served. I really like peaches. I would think Bob drizzled some oil and grilled them first. I wouldn't know what oil would work though.

Actually, the conductor does keep time in a precise way - 1 up, 2 left, 3 right, 4 up. It's not just about waving the wand around. It's actually not so easy.

Lady Bob and Inga need to be friends.

The song sounded better faster.

What drives me up the wall in terms of the right tempo is that the Star Spangled Banner is supposed to be fast, but people always play and sing is so slow. The guy was literally watching bombs bursting in air. You think he was writing a ballad?

What? I don't mind, but why are they moving it?

I liked this ep. Mr. Fischoeder always cracks me up.

"Jackson can go french a horn."

"Maestro-bate" and "Polish your baton" don't mean what you think.

Felix having to watch kids while the kids were actually watching Felix was good. The life-size Lincoln Logs were pretty funny. But I was expecting more childhood toys of Felix's. I guess we didn't need them.

I liked Linda coming up with "smart bald."

I'm so glad that Mr. Fischoeder got to conduct the fast-tempo version, and yes, it sounded better than the slow version.

I noticed in the end credits that the glasses of Cleopatra's Climax were actually climaxing.

Inga: Poof poof poof.

I am so glad this show is back, it feels like its been ages. I love Mr. Fischoeder episodes, he always makes me laugh, and adding Felix to the mix can only make things better. He actually did make a good point about the piece, it did sound a lot better faster.

"That's my landlord!"

The kids having to babysit Felix while Felix thinks he's babysitting them was great, of course they have a secret room and its just a lame gym,

This was the first time we actually saw Inga onscreen, right? And we had a rare appearance of Harold without Edith (I think only the second time in the show's run)

Because they're juggling six shows at once, they're moving Bob, Family Guy, Grimsburg, and The Great North to Thursdays for a few weeks to test out a summer run/burn off episodes.

Season 15, ep 12: Like a Candle in The Gym

Quote

The Belchers run into Coach Blevins while on a family walk and find him selling sweat-scented candles, which Gene and Louise discover to be a cover for Blevins' scheme to sell sweat samples for DNA mining.

Exterminator: Squishinary Position

I know the pain of family walks. And new shoes that hurt. Oh that's sad knowing the Belchers are "paying off a small coffee on a credit card over time" poor. But I really loved Bob and Linda's plot with Linda's injured foot.

Sweat-scented candles just sound gross as hell.

I was tickled that Gene named his shoulders Mary-Kate and Ashley. "My jugs are the Judds!" is an all timer Gene line. He really is the best as a one liner machine like in this episode.

I liked his "Your mouth is a lie-hole!" and Linda's "Walker Belcher Rangers."

But overall, this ep didn't do much for me. The conspiracy-obsessed classmate was too annoying for me, as well as being too true-to-life these days.

I think that early on Bob should have just gone back home and returned with another pair of shoes for Linda. But I've been there, wearing inappropriate shoes for walking and getting blisters.

Looks like I have some catching up to do. I had no idea there were more episodes. Hulu didn't tell me there were new episodes and primetimer didn't notify me that there were new posts in this forum.

With such weird scheduling decisions and moving the air night, it almost seems as if they're trying to dump and kill Bob's. So then why renew it for more seasons?

Man, this was a fun one.

Oh, the laptop making that WIRRRR noise was so real, I nearly panicked. I can relate to laptops being survivors. Good on Bob for choosing to save the pics and videos of the kids. It's a nice change up from when Linda went berserk over Christmas ornaments the kids made.

Figured Millie was the one that wanted in on the Mouth Manglers trade. I liked seeing Andy, Ollie, Chelsea, and Peter Pescadaro (with lines!) involved in a plot.

"Yeah, no test tickles for you!"

Yes, this was a good one.

I had a feeling that Millie had paid Peter to pretend he'd made the knockoff chips. Boy, she's the worst.

Why DO kids love gross-tasting stuff? Louise said it's a bonding thing. You think that's it?

Yes, the computer plot was very relatable. I do back up regularly, but still, thruout my life, whenever my computer started acting wonky, the panic sets in.

I really liked Computer Dave.

Gene: What was that orange thing I ate the other day that tasted really funny?
Linda: That orange button you swallowed? The orange crayon? The traffic cone you chewed on?

Louise: Guys, maybe Millie's right. Tina, you didn't want to do any of this. You like to play it safe. And Gene, you don't like to work hard or focus...
G: What?

Gene Persimmons was a good one.

There was something weird.... When Millie traps Gene and Tina in the boiler room, Tina says, "I can't believe Louise trapped us in here." I replayed it a couple of times, and it sure sounded like she said 'Louise.'

Oh, the end credits when everyone was tasting the Mouth Mangler chips was pretty funny, esp when Teddy ate one.

Making hot chips is brilliant! That's totally a racket Louise would get into. It's so great when they do plots with just the kids.

And the back room mob torture was tickling. I knew it was a set up!

I was not expecting the detention pact. Although I should have.

I know the show is set in another era, but given how Bob is involved with the wharf activities, it's hard to believe he never picked up a usb stick that would have backed up his pictures and all that. But that's the show.

"And then there were four."

Hey, another Thundergirls episode! And Troop 257 is back! Figures Tina found the golden pinecone by accident and had to hide it "down there" the whole time. The girls stumbling on the Etiquette Camp for Good Girls was a delightfully dark turn.

I loved that the family was actually rearranging Tina's socks while she was gone.

Man I did not like this episode. I wanted something light, and this wasn't it. I found the house stuff horrible.

It also reminded me of People Under the Stairs, which simultaneously terrified and fascinated me when I was a kid. I actually can't watch it as an adult, but for some reason I watched it more than once when I was a kid.

I similarly loathed the Buffy episode along the same theme - I think s. 4 with Riley.

ETA I looked up the release date of People Under the Stairs- 1991- so I was older than I thoight, 13 or 14. But yikes lol. It permanently scarred me.s 13

"We get to say 'craps'!"

Yep, Atlantic City casinos are still musty and sad. And free buffets are always the best kind, especially if they have prime rib. Drunk Bob is always great, especially around food. He got to carve the prime rib! And eat seven slabs of it! I'm so jealous. And hungry.

I liked that Bob was the one that won the thumb war was able to drink in this one.

And here I thought Linda's grandpa was in the mafia, that's why everyone spoke so highly of him and treated Linda. Nope, he was just a real nice guy who gave Linda a half-Aunt or something and all the old people were robbing the casino. And wow, the heist was actually pulled off! At least we didn't see if anyone got caught.

"That is like Scrooge McDuck money."

I really thought Bob was going to blow it and not be able to eat the prime rib. But he did, a lot, and got to carve, too! Win win win for Bob.

I was surprised by how the ep ended. The heist happened. Well, although it was a crime, they were owed the money. Those evil Danes trying to screw them out of it.

I wonder if we'll see Linda's new half-aunt in future eps.

Linda: I'll send the kids over if I see 'em. If they even ARE my kids.
Bob: What?
Linda: I DON'T KNOW!

Shirley: And then came my Bill.
Linda: Bill? You charged my grandpa?
Shirley. No. The man I married.

Gramp tramp. *hee* I also liked "Ruining my memories with her mammaries."

The whole time I kept saying "I hope Bob gets to eat the prime rib," because he so rarely gets a win. Then he did and it made me so happy!

Getting trashed, eating seven slabs of prime rib for free, and then getting to carve it? It'd be on my short list of best days ever, too.
