Interesting premiere, I liked the case but I’m not sold on Wes - he could be good but he seems a bit too rogue and abrasive and cocky. I was glad Vo told him he needed to work well with the others and keep them in the loop. Hopefully Wes grows on me, Forrester grew on me a lot during him time, hopefully Wes will do the same, but it was a bumpy start, and the episode was too centered around him. The case of the robbery crew was good and I liked the investigation.

I don't like this Wes guy at all and I really hope they don't start focusing on him to the detriment of the rest of the team, especially Andre who is my favorite character.

I like new guy Wes, and I thought the episode centered on him to introduce him as one of the main characters, which makes sense.  Hopefully, this is the last Wes-centered episode though.  I also hope there's no Vo-Wes hookup.

S04•E01 — A Leader, Not A Tourist

Is Fly Team so desperate to get rid of their “tourist” boss? 🙄

SSA Wes Mitchell is basically Hank Voight in Budapest. Wes is a hothead. Unfortunately, Wes doesn’t have the charisma and emotional intelligence that Scott Forrester and Brian Lange have. What about his leadership and negotiation skills? We’ll see. 😣

I wish they would’ve chosen Colin Donnell instead of Jesse Lee Soffer. Brian Lange has the right temperament to navigate the international bureaucracies.

This episode also proves that Beau Knapp (as Greg Csonka) is a much better actor than JLS.

I didn't hate it.  As a Chicago PD watcher (more the beginning years, not so much recently), I didn't see JLS as Jay Halstead.  At least Wes has more personality and is less brooding.  I liked Forrester too, but I think Wes will grow into it.

Having missed season 3, I didn't know who the American blonde woman is, or the absent leader on a wine tour.  Was that guy in season 1 or 2 and I just don't remember his name?

I agree that I wish Brian Lange had become the new leader of the Fly Team, he was very likable in his 2 episodes at the end of last season and it was weird how they gave him such a prominent role then didn’t bring him back - maybe the actor didn’t want to go overseas to film or wasn’t available. Regardless I’m not sold on Wes - he was too much of a hothead and something about him kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Also his girlfriend was a psycho and seemed unstable, so glad they broke up and hopefully she’s never heard from again, dating someone like her made me question Wes’ judgment already.
I’ll give Wes a chance, Forrester wasn’t my favorite either at the start and he grew on me a lot, and other characters have grown on me as well, so hopefully Wes will, but so far I’m not sold on him. International is my least favorite of the 3 FBIs, both because it’s too much spy drama and not enough crime drama at times and because I don’t find the characters as compelling, but it’s still pretty good.

Earlier in the episode, Wes tells Mike (his partner) that he is the type of guy who cannot be alone.

I really hope he will not hookup with Vo, Amanda or Smitty. 😣

This episode had a decent case but was way too heavy on action hero Wes - 3 separate fight scenes with Wes vs bad guys. They went overboard on trying to make Wes a super agent. I would’ve liked more of a teamwork effort instead of just Wes. And they are shoving a lot of Wes down our throats with his whole backstory about being in foster care and all. For some reason I’m just not sold on Wes and it seems like they are trying really hard to show how awesome he is.

I really liked seeing Tank the dog again. Nice to get a cameo from Jubal as well.

There’s too much of Wes Mitchell. They did this with Remy Scott too in FBI MW when he was first introduced. All hot and heavy, with leather jacket and everything.

This is definitely an initiation episode for “rakish” Wes. And of course Jubal knows him. Whatevs. I still see this guy as Jay Halstead from Chicago PD — his demeanor and style are all the same.

TANK! Welcome back to active duty baby… 💙

Recognized him immediately as I just finished watching the final season of Seal Team with him in it.

I understand why they are shoving Wes down our throats, but I agree that they can stop overdoing it now. I don't mind him, but I like the team dynamic too.

I also love Tank!  Who does he live with now? Andre? He liked Wes, and dogs are supposed to be good judges of character, so guess he's okay.

Decent episode, good investigation and solid case, kind of predictable once the girl was found alive that one of the parents was involved so nothing overly dramatic but decent enough. I liked that it was more of a team effort and not just Wes in this episode and they didn’t go overboard with Wes, he fit in much better in this episode, things felt more natural so hopefully he’s settling in. Please no Wes/Vo hookup though! Nice to see Tank again!

Vo was prodding Wes for more information about his life, but what more does she want to know?  They're co-workers, and he's entitled to some privacy about his personal life.

Awww! That’s a cheeky nose trick, Tank. 💙

Am glad Smitty doesn’t say YES to Leticia’s dinner invite. Smart call.

I recognize the actress who plays Olivia, Leah’s sober friend. She killed her dad in Chicago PD.

JLS fans have started to ship Wes and Vo. If that is what it takes to keep Vo away from Andre, so be it. 😅

I am absolutely fine with no ship, but if I had to pick one, I'd say Wes and Smitty.  I didn't get that Smitty is gay before, but maybe now she's thinking about it?  When she was first introduced, I thought she had history with Scott.  🤷‍♀️

This was a good episode, and I was surprised for a second by the girl being alive.  That was a nice small twist to start the case.  I do agree that from there it was predictable, but still decent.

More Tank please!

I have no idea if Smitty is gay or not - I don’t think anything has been said about her romantic life at all. So who knows, maybe we’ll find out this season.

I hope they avoid workplace romances - those just drag down a show. The FBI franchise has been pretty good so far about avoiding that, the only one they’ve had is Scola/Nina and that works fine because they are on different shows so they don’t work directly together. I prefer crime shows to avoid romances between main characters.

This show has always been my favorite of the FBI franchises.  Loved Chicago PD (and JLS) first seasons. But lost interest when characters started to "couple up".  I just don't care for him (at least so far) on this franchise. Maybe just too much too soon.

I thought this was a pretty good episode. Although I'm not sure why they really thought the girl faked it. She gave some good details and didn't seem to be lying at all. When she came back for the second interview and was trying to be helpful by saying the wallpaper was tigers instead of cheetahs and then they accuse her of making it up, I felt bad for her. It was kind of funny that they brought up the motivation for the dad was because the girl was going to change her name after she turned 18. Brad and Angelina LOL?

I don't think Smitty was gay but maybe she's finding out that she's bi? Clearly she was giving off some kind of vibe to the Portuguese cop. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out several episodes later that they've been seeing each other.

Pretty good episode, I only saw half of it I missed the first part due to some issues with my tv, but this was pretty good - Wes is growing on me as team leader, I’m starting to like him now, and the case was interesting, I liked seeing Amanda get out in the field.

I always love a Tank sighting!  But I am still so confused as to where he lives... LOL.

Otherwise, the episode was decent.  I liked Wes explaining the rules of going undercover, because I knew there were a lot but wasn't sure what was the exact line.  Amanda crossed it though... she got away with it only because he took a plea.

But what was that look she gave Wes at the end?  Happy to be told she did a good job and she could be in the field more, or a little "hot for teacher"?  I couldn't tell.

Tank refusing to catch the ball — is it scripted or that’s his acting choice? Naughty! 😆

Anyway, it’s great that they try to include him more this season. 😘

Am glad Amanda decides to stay on desk work as she’s good at it and Lily is her priority, after the custody battle. She got shot and attacked in both times she did the field work.

This was a good episode, good investigation and an interesting case. I liked the way it played out, good role for everyone, and Wes is growing on me each week as team leader. But I’m afraid they are going down the Wes/Vo romance route, and I don’t want that, keep romance between main characters out of the show

He basically said that she's too young for him, so hopefully they'll just stay friends.

I agree that this was a good episode otherwise.  Wes is fitting in well, though we always need more Tank... :-)

People need to stop playing matchmaker for Wes. He has found his true love — look at that golf simulator and the sparkles in his eyes. 😆

My favorite pair, having each other’s back! 💙
