S2.E10: Dressed to the Whines

On one of their final nights in Bali, Caroline Brooks, Caroline Stanbury, and Taleen cause a stir by skipping dinner; Sara is put on the spot by Akin; Caroline Stanbury attempts to make peace with Ayan; Ayan finally learns her real age.

Am I the only one enjoying this more each week? After the awfulness of New Jersey, I find myself liking their much less toxic brand of crazy. 
I didn’t think the dresses were that awful for women who love dressing up. Aayan as always cries too much. Did we find out her actual age? Is she 50? To me, it sounded like they said she could be between 45 and 50. 
Sara needs to stop with the fake Akin drama. Nobody believes that he is your boyfriend. 
I kind of miss Sergio. I ragged on their relationship when they still lived with Michael but I think they’re my favorite couple on all the current housewives at this point.

Yeah, did I miss it? I thought it would be a big reveal.

Akin probably watched that scene and thought what the hell is she talking about, I never said that!  I do not believe for one minute that Akin did not receive money to appear on camera as a love interest and that money did not come directly from Bravo if you get what I am saying.

I was curious if that’s his real name but I don’t care enough to look into it. I also believe that his time on the show was an acting gig.

Ayan expects to be forgiven immediately, by crying-as if, ‘how dare you get mad at me for what I did!? You Hurt me!’ But she’ll hold that grudge against Stanbury til the reunion. I guarantee she’ll keep bringing it up. She’s not letting that victim card go.  Those swings-the view looked beautiful and terrifying. 
 

The dresses weren’t my style, but they weren’t so horrendous that I’d call them ‘sabotage.’ Just because that’s something Brooks would do, doesn’t mean Lesa would, too. That poor designer.  Whoever said because it didn’t have a label on it was right. If those dresses were Louis Vuitton or such, they’d have been strutting.

 And those poor restaurant workers. They showed up 20 minutes before the kitchen closed? Or at least close to it. Bravo better have compensated them well for that. 

They gave an age range for Ayan with 50 the highest, but everyone went with 50. Ayan didn’t seem to mind. Her skin looks amazing.  This will sound weird, but it was actually nice to see the wrinkle lines on Stanbury’s chest when she was talking to Ayan and sitting in the sun. Normally,  they are lit so bright, you never see a line on their faces or bodies. I kind of liked seeing normal, slightly aged skin on one of them. She’s still beautiful, not an insult.

So true, anyone of those women would gladly strut around in an ill fitting designer couture gown than a well tailored frock from Dress Barn, lol.

Ayan and her fake crying, my mother would have called her Sarah Bernhardt! It may work on her husband but not on us!

Stanbury walks like an old lady. Her not loving that gown Lesa gave her was even funnier when I saw her in that hideous floral dress with the cut out over the stomach, mutton dressed like lamb!  None of the other women looked good in their own dresses either.

So funny that Ayan was all prepared to scream (because that is the mating call for all HW's) in fear on that swing but half way thru the scream she stopped and admitted it was actually fun. I hate that stupid screaming, such an over reaction to the slightest thing.

I think Lesa planned  those dresses,  carefully,  some of them were ill fitting. Lesa's dress was the best. Anyway  Brooks, Stanbury  and Taleen had a good time. I'd hate someone  to plan what I should  wear. 

I loved the swing Ayan and Carolina  S went on, what a beautiful  view. Ayan is so overly dramatic  about everything . How many  times did Stanbury apologize,  Ayan is a lot of work, but she wears some wonderful  wigs.

I'm still not feeling this season, but it's better than everyone  screaming at one another.

Me too, definitely.  I'd accept a small pin or scarf that everyone else was wearing for a theme party like a bachelorette or something, but an entire outfit, no. Thankfully, Ive only seen this happen on tv-this show and Salt Lake. 

Not into cackling over dicks everywhere, but drunk Stanbury on the float, holding onto the two wooden dicks for dear life was funny.   So weird that Dubai confiscates them at the airport lol

Agree on that tight floral cut-out dress that Stanbury CHOSE to wear.  It had 3-D flowers sticking out from her belly, too.  Weird.

Not a fan of those “winged” bodices on the dresses in Lesa’s and Taleen’s talking heads.

I admit I have a BEC reaction to Brooks so everything she does annoys me. Tonight I was annoyed about her wearing sunglasses inside and complaining about having to carry her own purse.

What is this podcast that is paying Sara $45k??

Why is Ayan acting like she was so wronged by Stanbury when she was the one that has wronged Lesa?

She may be well known but I think she is embellishing the amount of money she was being paid for being on a podcast.

Sergio might not be that intelligent, but he is nice, and pleasant.

Chanel Ayan is between 45 and 50, and was graceful to go for 50 to please Stanbury by (supposedly) being a couple of years older than her.

The swing scenes were nice, like the women sitting on a lotus in the previous episode. They were both Instagrammable. 

It's possible Lesa arranged that the dresses of some of the women she didn't particularly like were ill fitting.

The poor cows were scared by the women on ATVs racing by, they were not going to attack anybody like some of the women claimed.

Yeah, these countries are a subset of the Arab world (much as those of the Levant and the Maghreb areas are), in terms of culture, food, music, etc. And the GCC offers them many of the same privileges as the EU does, like freedom of movement.

Unlike most of these women, Sara did have something of a following in the area before the show debuted, particularly on social media, which is a valuable currency for today's celebrity. She has 1.4 million followers on Instagram, more than any of the other Dubai HWs, and more than some of the women on other HWs shows as well.

Was she embellishing about how much she was paid for the podcast? Possibly, but that amount isn't impossible for her to be receiving in that part of the world.

I had to google Stanbury's age after she said she was younger than 50.  I'll have to go back and watch LOL, didn't she brag about being in school with Prince Andrew?  (Ick, I know, forgive the reference, his full ick wasn't widely known in the LOL days.)  I thought it was hysterical that Stanbury was dissing the traditional dress so hard but apparently loved that hideous dress on the last night.

She wasn't at school with Prince Andrew, but she dated him! Back around 2000. Blech. Agreed on her dress. I thought she was so fashionable on LOL, but her wardrobe on this show has been weirdly cheap looking and unflattering. I can't imagine Lesa's choice for her being worse than what she wore.

You mean DR Sara??  She’s a liar.  She calls herself Dr. but she has an honorary doctorate in “women empowerment.”  So, I don’t know.. I actually liked her, but she’s full of it.

I was horrified by the treatment of those poor cows.  They were tied up on very short leashes and were scared to death by the women revving the engines and shrieking!  What kind of person sees them jumping in fear and screams more??  Taleen has mad cow!

A doctorate in Women's Empowerment, honorary or otherwise, and she turned down a $45k gig because her boyfriend told her she could not to it.

Oh dear lord, that just pathetic and disturbing. I have an actual doctorate in Organizational Psychology and I don’t go around calling myself Doctor unless it’s in a professional setting where it is actually important.
