"How Do I Get Rizz?" Olivia returns to Minnesota to finalize the divorce but Ethan struggles to accept it's over. Meanwhile, the Plaths navigate their new blended family with Kim's boyfriend, and Micah contemplates settling down and Moriah enlists Kim's help with making a music video.

"Blended family"? Ken doesn't have children, does he?

Watching Kim show Moriah how to make her music video should be funny.

Ethan continues to have the emotional maturity of a poorly behaving toddler.

Moriah has gone from hating Kim to “OMG, we’re so samesies!” Also, having someone who can’t dance worth a fuck “choreograph” a music video for someone who can’t sing worth a fuck I’d certainly…..a move. I guess when no one is buying your shitty music you can’t afford real choreography.

Poor little Ethan, he's such a victim. I loathe his 'I'm so hurt, Olivia will never see me again. I don't stand a chance' shtick. Maybe if he wasn't such a prick to his wife she wouldn't be divorcing him.

Kim oh Kim, do you really think we believe you actually live on that rusty bucket death trap of a boat? And Kim, you have exactly zero reason to ever think you have ANY advice to give your kids on relationships.

Moriah, newsflash: you're not that smart and you usually have really shitty ideas.

Annnd there we are again Kim, shitting on Olivia whenever she can. She can fuck right off with that snakey bullshit. And yet again, more relationship advice from thr (not) Mother of the Year.

ETA: Is it me or does Moriah seem like she's dazed or drugged most of the time?

In an attempt to look like the cool parent, Kim makes excuses for her daughter taking martial arts classes.

Olivia drops by the apartment to finish cleaning up and get Ethan to sign the divorce papers. Nothing new to see here...

Moriah visits Kim on her fake broken-down houseboat which now has no electricity because the plug melted or caught on fire. Kim didn't look pleased to hear Moriah had spoken with Olivia.

Micah is being coy about his Internet girlfriend for some reason. 🤔

May I see a Kim Plath and RayGunn dance off please?

Production gimmick.  I. DON'T. CARE.  Micah should try his showbiz (modeling/ acting) while he still has those Few Moments of Opportunity.  Run to L.A., Micah, run.  Otherwise, you'll be under the thumbs of TWO controlling self-absorbed females.

Poor little IGNORANT/UNAWARE St. Ethan. I believe his broken heard is real. Who's going to sleep with me?  Who's going to cook my meals?  Who's going to do all the harrrrd housewife stuff? What he doesn't get is that HE. HAS. NOT. CHANGED.  He cannot.  He truly needs His Beloved to return and love/be loved by him. The Ethan Commandmants will not change.  Olivia is expected to be his Complete and Devoted Handmaiden for Life.  Kim (mostly) did permanent damage to that man-boy.

The only thing we haven't seen so far is Ethan's renewed devotion to Kim, Mother of the Century.  (I think it's coming...via The Family Band!)

You could see the panic in her eyes, thinking her kids would once again see her for the PoS parent she truly is. That was a pretty revealing scene.

She really has damaged her older kids. She's awful.

ETA:

Barry keeps alluding to a prolonged and unresolved divorce because of Kim. He doesn't say it directly, but he has intimated it on more than one occasion. I wonder what the issue really is? The only thing I can think of is money, right? Barry wants that smaller old house to start his new life in. I assume they would sell the farm house and split the proceeds? What else is there? She deserted the family home, she shouldn't get alimony from Barry. And it can't be custody because she would likely lose given she really doesn't have a proper home for her children other than what is probably her boyfriend's dangerously underkept boat that doesn't run. Hardly a decent home for her girls given there isn't even a proper bathroom on board. She is just awful enough to demand Barry pay her alimony because she had all these kids with him.

Kim's explanation that she didn’t put Micah and the older kids in activities because she wasn’t able to do it at the time but now the younger kids won’t get the experience of growing up on the farm— shut up, Kim!

I have always liked Olivia and I liked listening to her in this episode. She seems clearheaded and willing to admit she also made mistakes while being excited about choosing how to live her own life.
I wanted to give her a standing ovation when she said it was not her job or responsibility to make sure Ethan was going to be okay. It was on Ethan. It was a lesson that many women twice her age struggle to accept.

I loved that Olivia refused to allow Ethan to talk to her yet again about how he was feeling. Dude, you had a bazillion chances to do that but you couldn't be bothered. Why? Because you always assumed Olivia would give you another chance, and another, and another. You assumed you could tell her she wasn't good enough to be the mother of your children unless she agreed to raise them in the same toxic manner you ran away from. And you thought she'd give you another chance? What the hell for? So you could better her for growing as a person? Here's what I have to say about that Ethan Plath:

Did anybody else catch Ethan say (paraphrasing) “I thought after I unloaded on you that you’d be mad for a few days and we’d be fine.”

Not the exact verbiage. But holy hell, what a warped man child. And I’m sorry, but I’m not laying all of his shit on his terrible parents. At some point, you have to be an adult and take some responsibility for yourself and change what needs changed.

I tend to be suspicious of these people on various tv shows who are portrayed trying to get permission to get divorced.  I’m only licensed in NC, but here and in some other states, one party files the legal action for divorce, serves the other party by sheriff or certified mail, then waits 30 days.  If they don’t contest, it’s set for hearing or default is entered. So, the defendant doesn’t have to agree to anything or sign anything, except to receive certified mail.  There might be property issues, but that’s separate from the dissolution of marriage.  Did Olivia have an attorney?  Anyone know which state she filed in?

Ethan seems like a miserable person.

When Moriah apologized to Olivia, I wish Olivia could have accepted it or rejected it and not gone into why it wasn’t presented in a way she wanted.  Please…..I get her grief with that family and cheer her leaving it, but I still find her annoying.

Kim doesn’t seem comfortable in her own skin.  And, I cannot envision this relationship with her boyfriend.  Odd combo, imo.

Anyone know the dates for when this was filmed? Can you post in Spoiler tags please, if you know?

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're referring to.  I thought Olivia very much accepted Mariah's apology.

At first, I was honestly quite frustrated that Olivia was so kind and understanding.  I guess I wanted Olivia to really put her in her place!  But then Olivia talked about how she had made mistakes when she was 20, and she wished she had been given a little grace.  Wow!  If only more people could respond that way.

My oldest son made some pretty big mistakes in the past year, and he feels remorseful and embarrassed, and he's really matured since then.  When we talk about things, one thing we talk about is trying to be understanding and compassionate when others make really bad choices.

It was so refreshing to see someone be so kind and mature.  In accepting Mariah's apology, I don't think Olivia said that what Mariah did was ok.  She simply said that she had also made mistakes in the past and she wasn't going to hold it against Mariah.

Awesome!

It's so important to remember that forgiving someone else really is a gift you give yourself.  It doesn't excuse what the other person did.  It doesn't mean that what they did didn't hurt you.  It really means that you are going to let it go and not let those hurt feelings control you.

Mariah made some really bad decisions.  It's too bad that she still believes that Olivia was only nice to her when she was not on good terms with her family.  Maybe someday she will realize that Olivia really was there for her, always, and stop blaming Olivia for all of the problems in their family.

Olivia has been the family scapegoat for so long that I think the Plaths will blame her forever. That way they never have to look at their own beliefs and behaviour.

I think Moriah's early childhood is the reason she can never think logically.  She's back in Mommy's arms (dancin' shoes) now...The Great Manipulator.  No one will  (can?) explain to Moriah how Kim is the base for all disagreements in the famly, the iron-fisted "religious guidelines, the lies and misinformation that have caused Olivia to become hated...once again.  Does this family NEVER watch the show(s)???

That Kim is one talented and sexy choreographer!

Okay if I disagree?  I'm thinking the opposite; I don't like anything about her, but I'm amazed how she flounces around "in her own skin."  Looks comfortable to me.  The boyfriend has some bucks.  He sold a 1/2 interest in his plane to Isaac.  I think he help$$$ Kim a lot.  Kim's a user.

Some religious background/education isn't so easy to slip away from. He's gripping as hard as he can to the tenets his parents created--and held to so fiercely that they couldn't accept the slightest changes initiated by the Bad Bad Olivia.  Although Olivia has told Ethan kindly and often what won't work for her in their marriage, he still holds to the 1800s ideal. I don't think he can ever believe he was in the wrong.  AND...if he ever mends fences (please don't!) with Kim, she'll just reinforce that he was right-right-right all along.

I suppose there's no way Olivia (probably the best character on this weekly timewaster) will be kept on the show.  "Life with Olivia," would be interesting to many of us...watching her maneuver MORE in her world.  Wouldn't it be interesting to  have Ethan have therapy with (unknowingly) Olivia's therapist.  I assume that's unethical.

He's actually gotten unattractive to me given his personality shift.

He's definitely one of those 'the more I see him, the less I like him' types.

I used to think he was pretty cute, he's lost his luster as I've gotten to know him on the show.  His current haircut is also awful and not flattering at all.

I’ll explain.  Olivia’s initial response to the apology was about her suspicion of the timing ( both about the song and how long it had been since the fallout) and Moriah’s song coming out.  She questioned her about that and the nuance of the wording…..to me accept or reject an apology, but don’t critique it.

Olivia acknowledges she made mistakes too.  That’s good.  I try to put that behind.  I get her issues with the family, but am still not a big fan.  In fact, I’m not a fan of any cast member on this show.  The only reason I watch at this point is the time slot.  Lol.

I agree, Olivia is no great shakes either.  It's just in comparison to her ex and his family that she looks good.  She does seem to weigh and judge every word out of anyone's mouth and pronounce it acceptable or not.  Really not necessary to announce your opinion to the world on everyone else' behavior.

I didn’t view it as Olivia critiquing the apology. It was more like she was trying to figure out whether this Mariah actually cared or was just trying to clear her conscience.

I thought it was fair that Olivia didn’t completely let her off the hook without knowing for sure that Mariah felt remorseful.

i also found it quite sad that in her interview, Mariah said that Olivia was only nice to her when she wasn’t getting along with her parents. What a bunch of hoowie!

This might be the "part" Production suggested when they gave her the new contract.

She's a social influencer and real estate agent,  so I'm not buying the camera-shy act.

If the parents Plath didn't like Olivia, they're not going to be okay with this gal! Sure they'll pretend to like her to be on Micah's good side, but I don't think she's going to win them over, and I predict right here, right now, that if Micah ends up marrying her, he's going to end up in the same situation as Ethan. The only difference will be that instead of his lady growing and him not growing with her, his lady will become a controlling nutter once she has a ring on her finger. That's my prediction folks, you heard it here first! 🤣

Oh I believe that’s true, I think we’ve seen that.  Olivia would be super passive aggressive in those instances.

I wonder if this relationship will get to the marriage stage.  I don't get the sense that this woman is going to want to put up with Micah the manchild for very long.  He may be useful as a handyman/house mate for now, but over the long term, I just don't see it.
