Glade June 11 Share June 11 I'm glad human births were not restarted. Really though, the sick was gone, the earth largely depopulated, but those people really said they'd prefer to rebuild their ugly ass bunker so they can freeze to death in the middle of nowhere for the rest of their lives? But it was a sweet ending otherwise, except maybe too sweet since chugging maple syrup can still give you cavities and diabetes with no medical system around to treat you. 3 Link to comment

I also was glad that human births were not restarted and that "normal" humans would die out within a generation. The hybrids were really the best of humanity (well, except for the ones trained to kill like the wolves--but even they would have been good if they hadn't been trained that way, and they'll probably be OK now that Rosie is good again). I didn't think about at the time, but you're right that remaining in the polar environment didn't make sense. But there are a lot of people who are rugged individualists and don't fit in a more comfortable environment, so as long it was their choice it didn't bother me. I was sure Jepperd was going to die from the knife wound when Gus stayed with him and told a story. There's no way he could walk back to the bunker (which I thought was a long way away) in that condition, so how did he get back? I guess we are supposed to assume the people in the bunker brought a vehicle to come get him, but then how did he heal from such a serious wound (not to mention all his other injuries and health issues) in the bunker? But I wonder if we are supposed to think that Jepperd really did die in Alaska and that when we saw him sitting next to Gus in the woods it was just Gus's imagination, the same way Gus imagined Pubba talking to him long after Pubba had died. 2 Link to comment
TimetoShine June 20 Share June 20 I don't care how it happened, I would have been really pissed if they ended it without that final scene. 2 Link to comment

I think Jebberd did die and that the ending was just the story that Gus told him to ease his passing. Also I really really hate the name Pubba. 2 Link to comment
HerkyJerky July 22 Share July 22 This was such a good and exciting show, I’m really surprised that more people didn’t get into it. Oh well, their loss… 1 Link to comment
Baltimore Betty July 22 Share July 22 (edited) I loved this entire show, every episode from start to finish, however I noticed a few things, nobody ate, nobody slept, nobody went to the bathroom, and none of the kids complained about the cold. For the love of this show I have suspended my reality. My question is about the future species, will it be a jumble of hybrids, mixing up the turtle with a chicken or a bird and a mouse? What about Bear, does she just live until she dies without procreating? Do pregnancies ever go back to regular humans since the sick is gone since the bunker people would certainly procreate now that there were new people there, right? How do we know no humans would be born without the sick? Edited July 22 by Baltimore Betty 1 Link to comment
Hanahope September 25 Share September 25 I got the impression there are no more fully human babies, no matter who gets pregnant. at least for the time being. Who knows if Bear ended up meeting someone and having children. she did say when Ginger gave birth she would never have kids, so it is possible she did not. as for the 'jumble of hybrids' that is unclear. certainly when humans procreated and gave birth to hybrid, it was completely random what type of animal hybrid was born, so i'd say it would be same when a hybrid gave birth. could be anything. or could be like the mother. or could be mixed. who knows. its a fantasy so best not to overthink it. I always thought the narrator would end up being Gus grown up. This was a nice show, something different from the endless cop, doctor, dramas 1 Link to comment
