I hadn’t guessed all the reveals so it was nice to be surprised. I like how they left it open for more. I would watch the heck out of another series.

I really liked the twist and how this ended.  I knew the aliens were in league with some humans and there was someone covering up what was going on with the women.

That scene in the basement with the son was really rough.  They didn't seem to clear up who killed Miller in his car. I knew the pullover was a ruse, but if they were getting rid of witnesses etc. why did the rest of them get away?

Wait, what happened to Charlie??! 😳

Henry could’ve kidnapped Djen. But the two of them could also be lovers or co-conspirators. Intentionally leaving Djen’s cloak in the closet, Henry leads Sugar to believe that Djen may still be alive and may be living on earth.

The way Sugar reveals a part of him to Melanie is really well done - it’s very intimate, not cheesy at all. And am happy that Wiley is now living with Melanie. 😘

The stage is set for season 2 with Sugar possibly exploring a new city, taking on other cases while seeking the truth about what happened to Djen and the human cabal that has threatened exposure.

Well someone had to be the connection between Pavich and the group, and after  Millar was killed Henry was the only character left we knew other than Ruby.

Millar getting whacked was a bit unexpected.

How did Sugar know which CD to grab?

id love a second season

I really enjoyed this show but I'm still confused about a few things. Why did Miller/Ruby want to stop Sugar from looking into Olivia's disappearance? Did they know Olivia was being held by Pavich Jr? Pavich Sr knew about their secret. Did they think that Sugar following the clues to Pavich would mean that Sugar finds out that Pavich knows about them? If they knew where Olivia was, they were willing to let her be tortured/killed by Pavich to protect their secret? Did they know about Henry? All the alien people seem to know what's going besides Sugar and why keep it from him if they're all there for the same purpose.

Was Henry observing or influencing?

Olivia was getting too close to David's secrets so David asked or ordered Stallings to kidnap her. Did Stallings then decide on his own to give Olivia to Pavich? Why was Ruby trying to keep Stallings hidden from Sugar? She deleted Stallings file so she must have known who he was and who he was working with. Again, that leads me to believe that Ruby/the aliens knew all along where Olivia was and again I'm asking why keep that from Sugar when it's all of them being threatened with exposure?

There are so many unanswered questions - I'm hoping there will be some resolution in the next season if there is one. I def agree that Sugar seems out of the loop in the alien group, there must be a reason for that.  He does seem to be more about being a good person than some of the others.

The only thing I can think of is that Pavich Jr and Sr found out about the aliens through Henry somehow because Pavich Jr and Henry were working together. So they made a deal, we won't spill your secret if you don't spill ours. IE we won't tell anyone about aliens if you don't tell anyone we kidnap and murder women. But then Olivia ended up with Pavich and her grandad/dad hired Sugar to find her so Miller/Ruby then were trying to stop Sugar from digging too deep because they knew the secret had to be kept

Yes, it was an emotional scene. I wasn’t expecting him to reveal himself to her, the surprise gave it more of an impact. There’s great chemistry between them, I hope Melanie is back too, at least occasionally. I loved the whole season and hope there will be more.

Well, I stuck with it, but it just didn’t come together enough for me at the end.

Also, Ruby’s cat - was it also an alien, and went back home with her? Or did she just leave the door open to let the coyotes and hawks sort things out? Because if it was the latter, I have opinions.

Well, this was quite the mindfuck.

I figured out the alien twist in the episode where all the "spies" were gathering. All the talk of them observing + the weirdness about Colin Farrell's character* led me to that conclusion even though I was sure it was wrong. It was just too out there. But even with that knowledge, there were many unanswered questions.  Why were the aliens targeted if they were keeping the secret? What happened to Jen?  Was the Siegel family more involved in Olivia's kidnapping, because I really thought Anna Gunn (at least) was hiding something? Who were all the other girls? Because if Crazy Serial Killer was just pulling girls off the migration bus, how did Olivia get into the mix?

I thought this was a limited series, but I'm glad the door has been left open for more. I really enjoyed this run, and I look forward to seeing Sugar go toe-to-toe with Henry, his potential Moriarty. I hope Amy Ryan is back for the next round, because she elevates everything. I also want to see more of that awesome dog and Sugar's gorgeous car. I'm impressed that the show kept me hooked, despite (or maybe because of) a twist that should have had my eyes rolling from here to Tokyo, and can't wait to see what they come up with next.

*Clues that cued me in to Sugar's alien status:

  • His whole persona was clearly modeled on 40's noir movies. The clothes, the look... he is a man out of time. It reminded me of immigrants who learn American culture by watching movies and TV. Plus with every reaction he has, there is a parallel movie reaction shot, showing his emotions are mostly demonstrations of what he's learned. Side note, I did love watching the clips. I recognized many, although not all, of the movies represented and this show made me want to watch them again.
  • All the talk among his allies of how they're there "to observe". Nothing could scream "alien" more, unless it was talk of gathering subjects for rectal probes.
  • Sugar's extraordinary strength and reactivity. Nobody could be that good at fighting unless they were other than human. (Or, I guess, movie star Colin Farrell.)
  • His inability to metabolize alcohol hints at a non-human body. Also, what is that crap he was injecting in his neck? Seems extreme for a just a drug fix. And the glitchiness with his hands. Things were not adding up.
  • He identified with the alien creature popping out of the guy's chest in "The Thing".

II didn't get this either. I mean, at the end of the day I felt like the series hit all the emotional beats but I'm not sure the story itself makes a lot of sense.
