S01.E02: Trip of a Lifetime

It's irrelevant now, but is it adultery if it's another version of your wife?

I can see that it's non-consensual on the other universe, sort of, because it's you but not really you. These kinds of alternate reality/timeline sexual morays get very confusing for me. The movie About Time does this, where the protagonist keeps going back in time until he gets it right with the girl he loves. But he knows more than she does -- he knows what she likes and doesn't like and all that, so it's sort of cheating. Like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day -- is it really consensual if someone knows all about you and you don't know about them?

I guess that's off topic, but it is a question. He's still Jason, both times. Danellia enthusiastically agrees. But he's not who she thinks she is. LIkewise, the other Jason was ready to sleep with Daniella even though she was a different Daniella. But is that wrong? I feels wrong, but it's ambiguous.

I'm digging this show so far, but I wish it had a more original title! There is at least one other show with this exact name. Dark matter is a fascinating field of study, but multiverses are a completely different thing. (I think)

I enjoyed the novel

and I look forward to some of the universes that are very different, such as the techno utopia.

Plus, physics was my Waterloo in college.

I never even took physics (science and math in general were my Waterloo), but I was patting myself on the back for knowing about the Schrodinger's cat problem. And I'm interested in the idea of parallel dimensions (if that's the right term) where multiple versions of you can exist. So far I am mostly following the plot, but I'm confused about how original Jason (with wife Daniela and son Charlie--let's call him Jason A) was transported to the dimension of alternate Jason (with live-in partner Amanda the psychiatrist--let's call him Jason B). I understand from this episode that Jason B created a box that allowed him to cross to Jason A's dimension, but how did Jason A end up in Jason B's dimension? At the end of the first episode it seemed like Jason B was pointing some kind of small box with a headlight at the unconscious Jason A--was that supposed to be a miniaturized or projected version of the interdimensional box?

I was also confused about the storage locker scenes in episodes 1 and 2. I know it was Jason B in the locker in episode 2 because he hung up his mask when he was in there. But was it also Jason B in the locker in episode 1? I originally thought it was Jason A (because we didn't yet know about Jason B), but it makes more sense if it was Jason B using the locker to hide out and store his equipment while planning to switch places with Jason A.

Just trying to write this out makes my head hurt.
