Unexpected outcome... Not The Wild Bunch

Yeah, that was one way to subvert expectations.

That one operative with the goggle like eyes--if that was Tech I'm glad he died. He wouldn't have wanted to be used like that. If it wasn't, and it was just a random look, that's fine too. Interesting that during the initial torture processing Hunter's hand started to shake. Poor Crosshair. But he made the shot both at the ship and at the binders.

Speaking of shots, the images of the Zillo Beast opening it's eyes and emerging from the water. AMAZING! This animation has improved so much, it's so beautiful.

Hahahaha, bye Rampart. You idiot. You could have gotten out but, as you said, you only look out for yourself.

On the one hand, it was a good end to the series. On the other hand, there is only Tales of the Empire and then that's it for animation (that we know of). I know Andor is coming and so is Ahsoka, but I really loved Clone Wars and Bad Batch and I'm sad that it's finished. But I guess it's better to leave me wanting more than getting tired of it.

Oh, and circling back to Tech because he is still my favorite, he stayed dead. I may have been looking for hints all season that he was coming back but no. He stayed dead. But like me the show and his family he was never forgotten. He was still with them during the final mission. Omega still kept him close.

And as much as I wanted Hemlock to get eaten by the Zillo beast, I'm so glad Omega's and Tech's brothers were able to kill him.

And this was an end for the Bad Batch. This was their last mission. No more being a soldier. So as much as I wanted to see Cody and Rex etc it was truly their story and it was satisfying. I guess the showrunners learned from the complaints about the Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett.

Fantastic finale! I have enjoyed this show all the way through and it is the first animated Star Wars show I have watched.

I wonder if we have a backdoor pilot for an Omega series involving her Force-sensitive friends. Having said that, I would pay actual money to see @paigow's The Golden Batch. In any case, I am sure at least some of these characters will pop up again.

I liked the details added to Pabu in the epilogue. Assuming some of the clones decided to stay there, it looks like they put in some work upgrading the island's defenses. They also fixed that cave up so that it was a proper landing field for a ship. In previous threads we've talked about how they should seal this cave off. Well, parking a ship there is one way to make sure no one sneaks up on you!

The baby crying when they're trying to sneak around but sleeping during the chaos was comedy gold, especially the exasperated comment from the green kid of "oh, now he falls asleep?!"

Loved Nala Se pulling "the ring trick" on Rampart whose last words really should have been "oh shit!". The ring trick is from Leon but I won't spoil it further. If you know, you know.

Stabbing the droid in the neck reminded me of Terminator Salvation but that seems like too weird of a pull from the Terminator universe to be intentional.

Tech stayed dead which is a bold choice. The show could have had him as one of the badass ninjas that they had to fight and they could have rescued him. But nope, unless he was resurrected and brainwashed and the Batch just never knew they pinned their old buddy to a wall with a spear. Good way to make sure he doesn't fall down again I guess. Too soon?

I wonder why Emerie took her glasses off but didn't ditch the uniform? The kids all had fresh outfits when we saw them on Pabu.

Rampart was not thinking things through... Unless he was going to download all those Terabytes by himself, killing Nala Se was dumb... and he would have to capture Omega alive - requiring him to defeat the Clones & Empire single-handed...

Here's a what if scenario: What if Hemlock hadn't chatted with Rampart? And Echo took 10 seconds to say "Not asking you to fight Rampart, you can find a shuttle". Would Rampart had just gone to the shuttle with the other clones who weren't able to fight? Or would he have still gone after Nala Se? I tend to think that we were shown that he would still have gone to try to get the information given how he still liked being an Imperial and even bragged about how he only looks out for himself. But I also think hearing Hemlock boast about his importance really spurred him on, too.

Wow, that was a great finale. I spent most of it terrified that we lose one or more of the Batch bit, very happy they all survived.

Does the time jump hint at anything? I was thinking the new spin-off would be the Rebellion years but, we already had that with Rebels.

Maybe it hints that we'll see her in Ahsoka helping Hera. She knows Hera, I'm assuming that's how she knows about pilots being needed.

Tbh, she's wasted as a pilot. Luthen in Andor would have so much more use for her. She escaped Tantiss TWICE. She was trained by some of the best to infiltrate behind enemy lines. While being a pilot is important, she is so much more than a pilot.

One thought,  I was so worked up about the possibility that someone would die I totally missed a very poignant moment. When the Batch were going in to the facility, Crosshair asks who let the Zillo out, Echo  or Omega and both Hunter and Wrecker in Unison...Omega

It shows how well her brothers know her and highlights the disconnect between Crosshair and his brothers/Omega

But also, when Echo says to Emerie that Omega released the Zillo she asks how he knows that. And he answers that it's what he would do--create a distraction, divide the opposing forces, and make an opening. And it worked. So it's also how well all of her brothers trained her. And while I have some philosophical issues with child soldiering (which the Clones are) it's still rewarding that her brothers see their training in action. And it could be argued that at least Omega had a family that was training her instead of cold and distant Kaminoans and paid bounty hunters that the Clones had.

You're right, I totally missed that!

Omega was channeling Jean Luc Picard in making the green kid climb the ladder; thankfully, no singing was required...

Hahaha, I love that episode. "I want to see my father. Now now now!"

Oh wait. I'm confusing Rascals with the Capt Picard Day of Disaster (I think?) Ooops. Picard kids and my mind goes to young Picard.
