In season 1 and 2 they didn't yell as much and when someone passed it felt more serious. I don't recall any yelling, except for the time they prompted that lady it was her turn. But that's not my objection. My objection are these little exchanges between randos on the floor right before the duel starts: "She's got this." "She's been studying, she knows this category." "This is going to be a tough one." WTF? First of all how the hell do these people even know any of the other contestants and why on earth would we care what they think about the matchup? Imagine any other gameshow cutting to a couple of audience members going "Oh, I hope so-and-so wins" "I think so-and-so has this in the bag!" 4 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8607922

According to one of the contestants, there is a great deal of discussion and strategizing among the contestants during the down time between filming episodes. I’m not that interested in the chit chat either, but I guess the producers think it adds something to the duels. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8608153
Lantern7 March 15 Share March 15 (edited) "Real Housewives" is a nightmare category for me. I do not give a shit about the franchise. I like Robot Chicken, but this bit didn't nudge me either way. BTW, Parallax parallel FTW. Brian is going home with at least $100K. I think that might be the most he's made for a few days' work. I'm not hating . . . I'm impressed. Also, Archie Comics is doing a project featuring a crossover with Jay & Silent Bob, and I'm betting that Dante will be in there. I've never seen an episode and on top of that am really bad at matching up faces and names. I was entertained by how good they both were at it. It was fun to watch. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8610513
GameJayAnalysis Thursday at 03:05 AM Share Thursday at 03:05 AM Finally! The left side of the floor has taken matters into their own hands and decided that they should overtake brian. If you can't beat the 20k club, join the 20k club. I thought Sifat and stephanie's strategies were good, because inheritance is horrible. Inheritance eventually takes you out. You fill find something that is not defendable. From here on out. the two sides of the floor will fight for 20k. No more easy wins. Thank god. And no longer will the randomizer be a factor(cough * episode 3 * cough *), I think. No hate on Brian, I'm just glad the other side of the floor came to their senses and didn't pass up the chance to even up the game. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8612077
gonzosgirrl Thursday at 02:56 PM Share Thursday at 02:56 PM So the woman who had the Crayon Colors category said (paraphrasing) she thought she had it down, but didn't realize there were 120 colors now. So I guess that confirms they are given categories to choose from, rather than coming in with one? (If that's been confirmed previously, my apologies.) I generally don't like to see one contestant dominate a game, but it is hard not to root for Brian. He's done well defending his inherited categories and genuinely thrilled and grateful for the position he's found himself in. I'd be happy to see him win it all. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8612348

That was such a bizarre statement from her, RIGHT AFTER saying that she'd worked with kids for 20+ years! "I'm used to the box of 10" or however she put it. And she's 43 years old— back in the 90s Crayola had a box of 96! (And may have come out in the 80s.) And they definitely had boxes of more than 10 since before then. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8612368

Then I see she's the same age as me. I got frustrated watching people going back to the floor and refusing to play any kind of offense. Kinda sick of Brian winning the $20,000 prize every time because people are too chicken to challenge him, or build up a competitive chunk of territory elsewhere on the board. At least tonight he had to work for it. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8612406

I'm twenty years older than her, and I remember how thrilled I was getting my big box of 64 crayons (with the built-in sharpener!!!) as a kid. I can't believe anyone going in with this 'expert' category isn't aware. Related but irrelevant: when I was very young, I called them 'Crayolins', some weird hybrid Crayola and crayons. Couldn't be convinced I was wrong, lol. Actually even if you weren't overly familiar with crayon colors it was fairly easy to guess the names since they were fill-in-the-blank clues that were a play on words. 1 hour ago, gonzosgirrl said: I generally don't like to see one contestant dominate a game, but it is hard not to root for Brian. It was kind of hilarious when he said (again, paraphrased) not to tell Kevin about the money because he'd probably ask him to finance Clerks 4. Some of those connections were intuitive but there were a couple I would never have guessed. I didn't know that Crayola had gone the route of kooky color names. I was expecting burnt sienna and raw umber. Showing my age again I guess. I've been wondering about Brian's odd shirt since the beginning so I was happy to learn it has something to do with hockey. I'm still curious about that red tab at the neckline. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8613980
Lantern7 Saturday at 04:10 AM Share Saturday at 04:10 AM At least Anna Leigh got camera time. I still don't think Rob will bring up TAR when she finally comes up. What is the grand prize amount? Given that Brian now has $110K and no way to lose it, I say he's pretty much won. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8613990

It was Christmas and a little girl opened one of her gifts, which happened to be a big honkin' box of crayons! Probably the 64 w/sharpener. What a coincidence. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/142485-the-floor-general-discussion/page/7/#findComment-8614708
