DanaK December 5, 2022 Share December 5, 2022 (edited) Quote Erin and Anthony clash when Anthony's daughter, Sophia (Isabel Harper Leight), is the sole eyewitness to a fatal shooting. Also, Frank wants to punish an off-duty copy for his inaction during an armed robbery; Danny and Baez investigate a violent mugging with some unwanted help from Jamie; and Eddie and her partner, Badillo (Ian Quinlan), help an attack victim see the brighter side of New York City, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Dec. 2 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Sarah 103 December 5, 2022 Share December 5, 2022 I liked Garrett in this episode. For once, he was not the one talking or most concerned about appearance or optics, instead he was by the book, which was an interesting change. 6 Link to comment
NJRadioGuy December 5, 2022 Share December 5, 2022 Frank had the right idea with that smirking coward. At first I thought foot patrol in the Bronx, or midnights in Transit, but both those require actual police skills. Motor pool or evidence room are far better, with a guarantee he'll never get promoted and his career is now a dead-end. Modified Duty (aka the Rubber Gun Squad--where they actually strip a sworn officer of his gun, with no right to access any police resources) is a good place for this clown. Anthony's storyline made no sense. He's Mr. Law-and-Order (with a capital Dunh-Dunh). His reaction was out of character. Eddie and Badillo getting a police boat to escort the young lady was cute but dumb. Especially in dress blues. I expected them to do what they did (because TV) but that was just too over the top. And I laughed at how, in the closing shot, the Statue of Liberty was screen left, and the character walked to the far side of the boat, away from it. I still can't resist getting a complete eyeful whenever I ride the ferry across to S.I. 1 2 Link to comment
jabRI December 5, 2022 Share December 5, 2022 Yeah, I think it would have been better if they dressed as civilians and just showed her the town the right way. But so glad to see this stupid Danny/Jamie fight snark scenes hopefully going away. Very annoying to watch. Erin was not wrong, but it's sad that her character is being shaped into someone so unlikeable and generally lonely. Or maybe she was always like this, but it seems more pronounced now. 2 Link to comment
Magnumfangirl December 5, 2022 Share December 5, 2022 The superhero conversation between Eddie and her partner at the beginning was recycled from a past episode. I remember Eddie and Jamie saying almost those exact words (especially the part about Peter Parker being a native New Yorker) before they were married. 1 Link to comment
wlk68 December 5, 2022 Share December 5, 2022 Glad that the fight between Danny and Jamie has been put to rest. At least for now. The fact that Danny actually admitted he was wrong and apologized had me checking the skies outside for low flying pigs. Can't help but think that Danny will eventually revert because that's just who he is. 2 1 Link to comment
Woodrose December 5, 2022 Share December 5, 2022 This show has gone on so long they are repeating stories, but seemingly with no memory of the story they told earlier. The new stories take place in a different NYPD. In Season 7 Episode 8, Personal Business, an off duty officer is with his daughter in a corner bodega when a robbery goes down. He protects his daughter rather than get involved. It makes the papers, the officer is called a coward, Frank puts him on modified duty. While operating without a gun, the sergeant then plays hero and gets himself shot. Frank feels bad, the cop's daughter gives him a tongue lashing, ep ends with Frank walking the cop's daughter to school. Rather different treatment than the officer in this episode in the diner. If I can remember this happened a few years ago, should not the characters mention it in show, too? 1 1 Link to comment
TV Diva Queen December 8, 2022 Share December 8, 2022 I 100% thought that that victim (they took see the statue of Liberty) was gonna get either kidnapped or shot in the head while they left her alone at the hot dog cart. LOOOOLLLL Also, it coming up time for mine and my daughter's annual NYC trip. She's looking for the "hole in the wall Italian place". I keep telling her "LETS GO TO BAMONTES". So last night we're watching - and when Frank is sitting in a restaurant, she goes. "There, something like that place". I said "that's freaking Bamonte's" She doesn't believe me, so I pause, rewind to the window.....google image Bamontes window and show her. We're also going to trying the place that Anthony took Eric to, DaNico's. LOL 1 Link to comment
DanaK January 7, 2023 Author Share January 7, 2023 I could actually see both sides of the argument about the cowardly police officer. Frank did seem a little vindictive towards him but the officer did give off a whiff of not caring about others and could have carried over into the job Link to comment
mythoughtis January 11, 2023 Share January 11, 2023 (edited) Wasn’t the story about Joe’s death that corrupt police officers killed him( Blue Templar’s or some such)? How was that Danny’s fault? Furthermore, does Danny think Jamie is less than an adult and needs his brother to babysit him? Should Frank in turn restrict Danny from dangerous assignments to protect him? What about Joe Hill- he’s on a terrorist task force. Should the older Reagan’s tell him he can’t be? Danny needs to accept that his brother is a police officer too and that he has to stay out of it.
