BoogieBurns October 25, 2022 Share October 25, 2022 Gentle reminder: Kai's pronouns are they/them Ex: "Why do they write them so dull?" I'm not the pronoun police, this is just a safe space to get comfortable with using correct pronouns. If it gets confusing, just say Kai instead. (We're all still learning!) Ex: "Why on earth is Amelia still with Kai?!" 3 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134543-s19e03-let%E2%80%99s-talk-about-sex/page/2/#findComment-7718155

The idea of teaching high school students the difficulty of parenting started with the egg project in 1986 when the actor was 32. I graduated high school well before 1986 and we had practice babies. It's definitely been around longer than 1986. 2 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134543-s19e03-let%E2%80%99s-talk-about-sex/page/2/#findComment-7719072

It turned out ok in the end but I prefer medical case storylines. In real life interns actually are actually required to participate in things not directly surgical related, but medically adjacent. For example, I worked as a Certified Child Life Specialist. Interns had to spend a certain amount of hours working with us. It wasn't a long period of time, I think it was 2 weeks. I also know not every hospital had that requirement, but the goal was to have a more well rounded doctor. One that could treat the whole patient and not just the illness. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134543-s19e03-let%E2%80%99s-talk-about-sex/page/2/#findComment-7720174

Susbeen October 27, 2022 Share October 27, 2022 Can we please talk about the Muslim hijabbi girl on the computer every episode? It looks like she is also an intern but getting zero screen time or lines…sad 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134543-s19e03-let%E2%80%99s-talk-about-sex/page/2/#findComment-7722223

Sex education and teaching young people about their bodies is still community outreach. A hospital is perfectly capable of functioning without interns for 1 day, Even one as dysfunctional as Grey Sloan. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134543-s19e03-let%E2%80%99s-talk-about-sex/page/2/#findComment-7722825

They've spent days on things like planning a high school prom before, so at least this is vaguely medical. (And medical in reference to humans, not to saving a deer that somebody hit, lol) I liked it mainly because of how much it can set up within the episode - a reason for Addison to be back, a chance for the interns to interact comedically, it leads into related patient cases, and it serves as the impetus for the romantic hookups soap opera portion of the show. 1 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134543-s19e03-let%E2%80%99s-talk-about-sex/page/2/#findComment-7723015

Ha, thanks for reminding me about the deer! And I do think the sex videos served the overall plot well. Ex: "Why on earth is Amelia still with Kai?!" The last time we saw them they were not all in on Amelia's mom life. And since it seems Link and Amelia are pretty much 50/50 there is time for them to have a long distance relationship in the other half but it feels like something they should be discussing because it feels like a deal breaker in the long term. But I'm not invested in the couple just saying this feels like a big place to leave them without addressing it again. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/134543-s19e03-let%E2%80%99s-talk-about-sex/page/2/#findComment-7737900
