Lantern7 June 13, 2022 Share June 13, 2022 Quote The qualifying rounds continue in San Antonio, where competitors as young as 15 take on seasoned veterans on the world’s most challenging obstacle course; the new Piston Plunge obstacle makes its debut on the course that ends with the Warped Wall. ams1001 June 14, 2022 Share June 14, 2022 (edited) OMG we're never getting over the "First Mom" thing, are we? I feel like running obstacles in Hammer pants is a bad idea...at least two did it tonight... Damn, poor Jessie. To go out so quick after all that she's been through. I knew she'd hurt her knee but I didn't realize she had surgery on both shoulders, too! 3 Mega-Walls in a row for the Weatherman! Edited June 14, 2022 by ams1001 1 Link to comment
mlp June 14, 2022 Share June 14, 2022 I used to tape every episode and watch it again, sometimes more than once. For the past couple years, I have had no interest in sitting through a show again. It's because of all the nonsense and theatrics. I want to see impressive skills, not long stories about people who fall on the third obstacle or silly stunts when a competitor first takes the stage. I'm also not interested in watching Matt and Akbar eat bugs or cheesecake or in hearing another word about the first mom. I was thrilled for Najee and sad for Jesse. After all she's been through, I wanted her to do well. I always enjoy watching Joe. 1 1 6 Link to comment

I don't think it is humanly possible for me to be any happier that she didn't advance. We should be done hearing about it for this season, at least. If she never competes again, it will definitely be fine by me. 16 hours ago, ams1001 said: Damn, poor Jessie. To go out so quick after all that she's been through. If I'd had to watch her do those later obstacles, I would have been terrified of her reinjuring one or both shoulders. She should have given herself more time to rehab. 2 Link to comment

I don't really have anything against her, personally, but I'll admit I did a l small cheer when they said she'd been knocked out of the running. Edited June 14, 2022 by ams1001 3 Link to comment
DEL901 June 14, 2022 Share June 14, 2022 I finally realized there is no competition for a fast pass or whatever it was called, between the two fastest contestants. 1 Link to comment

I'm only hopefully optimistic. We're only on the qualifiers. They may still try to pull it out of retirement for the city finals. 1 Link to comment
Necromancer June 16, 2022 Share June 16, 2022 I was surprised that Allysa Beird and Jessie Graff failed a city qualifier. Did Sandy Zimmerman qualify or is she also out? Link to comment
SophiaD June 16, 2022 Share June 16, 2022 Sandy is out. The "Jersey Girls" all made it, plus at least one teen. I don't think Jesse recovered enough from her surgery, and, reading between the lines, it look as though Alyssa isn't training as much as she was before. She mentioned James was "doing his three hundredth pull-up" while she was getting ready for work. Or maybe she just had an off night. I hope Flex does well. This week's episode wasn't as interesting as last week's, at least to me. Too many people doing well, and/or completing the course during the "while we were away" section, and too many folks had the backstory setup only to flame out. I imagine that they're doing this to add interest, so we don't have repeat backstories, but, for me, at least, they're tilting too much towards entertainment and not enough towards athleticism. 4 Link to comment
candall June 16, 2022 Share June 16, 2022 I almost always FF through the backstories. But with the remote already in my hand, I decided a 15-year old Guatemalan orphan merited three minutes of my attention. Then he made me cry. 2 Link to comment

Undebately she's still quite a physical specimen, and there are older competitors, but she's also beat her body up a lot between her stunt career, and NW. It probably is about time for her to move over to the Commentary side of the broadcast, or something else. Link to comment
