I would have loved a recap of season 1 somewhere as I couldn’t remember who the woman with the mullet who took care of the children was.

She was the pretend wife of the religious dude and the fake mother of one of the kids.

Did you accidentally skip it?  The first few minutes of the episode was exactly that (on HBOmax.)

Crusades Punk is a thing now.

I can't say I am totally following the plot but I do appreciate the production design and an alien planet that isn't Vancouver.

Another thing I like about this weird show is how Mother avoids the Sexy Android Trope. Amanda Collin is beautiful, yet Mother has very short hair and is flat-chested. Also, Father, doesn’t appear to be, um…”fully functional.”😑

It stands to reason that this society isn’t that keen on using service androids as sexual partners. I think. Whatever the case, I do hope Amanda Collin and Abubakar Salim aren’t too uncomfortable with things strapped in and strapped down.

I can’t remember the name, but a few years ago I heard an interview with an actor who had his agent negotiate a clause into his contract: the actor’s one-piece custome had to have an “escape hatch,” presumably is the form of a discreetly placed zipper. Perhaps something similar has been engineered into those body stockings.

I’ll show myself out.

Marcus has more lives than a cat. The Atheists aren't ready for him. (Though I guess they've already been dealing with him, hence the reference to "the Terrorist"?)

Maybe they aren't too uncomfortable but I still get squirmy watching them move around in those getups.

I am not sure we will continue on with this.  Probably because I'm not interested in the atheist assholes or the cult of crazy.  If this is what is left of humanity,  I'd say the universe is better off without them.
All the bad science , willful ignorance and refusal to use available technology is more annoying than entertaining.

And now Paul has a literal mystery box.

All the prophesies, mythology and Garden of Eden metaphors just feel like mental rabbit holes to keep the audience distracted .. while the main characters spend a lot of time walking around in desolate landscapes that require the least amount of FX budget.
Tho it does have striking visuals and intriguing locations ...

I’m with you. I posted this early in season 1 but, why the religion vs atheism world? Wars over religion seem dead and have seemed that way for decades. Resources, money, status, all would be more contemporary. So the fact they seek to be doubling down is disappointing. I’ll keep watching though.
