I especially don't want them to go the way that NBC did with Will & Grace years ago where they frequently made negative comments about Pres. Bush. It's unnecessary and distracts from the show, and we know they'd be more likely to do that to one candidate over the other. 🙄 If they start that crap, I'm out. Ghosts is a fantasy show they won't discuss current events. If you follow the cast IRL you know where they stand. 1 Link to comment

The poster asked if it would be addressed by the characters of the show, and that's the angle I was coming from. A nod to a huge current event like this is okay with me, but as I said, I don't want the writers and/or producers to make it a running commentary like other comedies have done in the past. I'd be willing to bet Flower didn't vote, either. most likely out of forgetfulness. Edited November 6 by Browncoat 3 Link to comment
PaulE November 6 Share November 6 I think they'd be wise to avoid politics in general, especially now that we know the election results, if only because the fans probably represent the political spectrum, so why antagonize anyone? That'll just drive viewers away, which won't be good for ratings. Also, we need to have a few places we can go where we're not divided by politics (other than British Tories vs. American Patriots, of course!). 1 1 Link to comment
Lugal November 6 Share November 6 I agree the show should avoid current electoral politics, both to avoid alienating the viewers, but also because most of the ghosts are old enough that politics really doesn't matter. 3 Link to comment

Do you think there is a version with a scene acknowledging…[the outcome of the election]… With hunts have a long history with politics, gender roles, and economics. I guess Patience's arc is supposed to have covered it.🤷🏻♀️👻 1 1 Link to comment

It would be interesting to use their respective time periods' political views to put all of this into perspective somehow. At the very least, it'd give us some insight into how they as characters handled and responded to the politics of their respective times. 1 Link to comment
