Galileo908 September 9, 2021 Share September 9, 2021 It took THIS long to give Cheryl an intern? "I'm not NOT your supervisor!" I like the runner of Archer bonding with baby animals. Well, Poko was cute, but she was no Baby Lamont, that's for sure. And of course he would kill everything else around (especially crocs) to protect it. All in all, the Africa adventure was pretty fun. Of course Krieger would install a creepy AI in the building. That would become self-aware. Lost it at "Excuse me, DOCTOR God." 2 Link to comment
Lantern7 September 9, 2021 Share September 9, 2021 (edited) Fun episode. Basically, Archer gets away with everything, and his colleagues Stateside almost get killed by an artificial intelligence. I like to think Malory has basically tuned out Cyril. He was dead on about "Dr. God" Kreiger bringing in an AI . . . but he's Cyril and therefore useless. It's still a toss-up whether Cyril or Jerry Smith is the most pathetic character Chris Parnell voices. Does anyone else think about what happened to the various background people that worked at ISIS before "White Elephant"? Aside from consultants and guest stars (Slater, Conway Stern, Barry, etc), I think this is the first would-be worker at The Agency not in the inner circle. Of course, she blows it by talking out loud about how she disabled the AI. Given that her supervisor was Cheryl, I'd say she dodged a bullet. Poor Lana. I get how she can grate, I get that she might be the most neurotic of the team (I call it "Michael Bluth Syndrome"), but I feel for her. The episode ends with Archer saying farewell to little Poko . . .and she gets bit by a venomous snake. Doesn't seem fair. How much you wanna bet Poko hogs all the water at the preserve and puts a finger up while she drinks? Next week: I think "Pampage" doesn't really work because about 90 percent of the stuff Pam does can be considered a rampage. Edited September 9, 2021 by Lantern7 Link to comment
Chaos Theory September 9, 2021 Share September 9, 2021 I actually liked the stateside story more then the African story. Of course it was Krieger invents and artificial intelligence that he can't control that tries to kill them and of course Cheryl hires an intern who ends up saving the day but she still fires her. benteen September 9, 2021 Share September 9, 2021 Fun episode. Sadly though, this looks like a preview of what the show will be like without Malory if it goes on after this season (with this episode being mostly Archer and Lana on their own). Link to comment
DoctorAtomic September 11, 2021 Share September 11, 2021 Did we know Lana went to Berkeley? Which makes me first degree Lana! I do like when Archer and Lana are on the same page. It was ridiculous that they couldn't bring guns on an anti poaching mission. There was really enough for each plot to be its own episode. 1 1 Link to comment
Joimiaroxeu September 11, 2021 Share September 11, 2021 "Tamales-in-your-zapatos soft." What does that even mean?* Spycial? Spy Show? I couldn't understand what Archer was trying call the new and improved agency. Aw man, dontcha hate it when your homemade AI turns sentient? *Some quick googling revealed that there is a type of flat, canvas shoe, similar to espadrilles, a pair of which are called tamales. 1 Link to comment
tennisgurl September 11, 2021 Share September 11, 2021 It is not even a tiny bit surprising that the an AI Krieger would built would gain sentience and try to kill everyone. It would be more surprising if that didnt happen. Poor Cyril, he saw all of this coming and was just ignored. Fun episode, I liked the adventure in Africa, that Archer and Lana were more or less getting along and that things pretty much worked out. That baby gorilla certainly was adorable, and I do enjoy when Archer bonds with adorable animals. 1 Link to comment
