I’m tossing this here because I know it’s come up at other times.  I saw the pilot for the first time and the first thing Linda says is a comment to Frank asking if it would kill them to have Sunday dinner at her house once in awhile.  I know people have asked about how in-laws feel about mandatory Sunday dinner so that made me laugh.

Apparently, Mayor Adams, who is an ex-cop, was micromanaging Commissioner Sewell's office to the point that he demanded approval of all promotions. It's a shame, because she'd done some good things, and crime was noticeably down since she took the job.
