KWalkerInc January 10 Share January 10 It's always fun when Jane endes up throwing herself on the floor in frustration during Bid-a-Note. (Although Colton did have one correct answer and I think the time she did that with regular people there were none.) At least she got to cheer herself up by singing right after that. I noticed that they didn't have the "talk about the person's accomplishments" part at the beginning of the Colton/Jesse game. That's either to avoid promoting The Bachelor or the awkwardness about mentioning that show because he stalked the woman he picked after they broke up (though he still referred to the show with the rose mention in Bid-a-Note). I believe three of tonight's four contestants were on Dancing With the Stars, bringing the total to approximately a million. I actually thought Colton had been on too until I looked at a contestant list--apparently he didn't do the show right after his season and after that it wouldn't have happened (they like "redemption" angle on that show but I think he has a rift with Bachelor Nation). Anyway, he did all right in the Golden Medley. Cameron seems like a nice man (though he used to annoy me by yelling everything he read from the prompter on Entertainment Tonight), but he may have been their worst contestant ever. At least he had a good attitude. I was afraid he was going to win on the last Bid-a-Note song after all of Misty's work. Of course Randy takes credit for her success (probably jokingly) because of his early pep talk. Although I'm sure Craig Ferguson annoyed many with his antics last week, I was cracking up and it reminded me of watching his show. It seemed like the songs were geared more toward his age range than Corbin's, but I was still happy when he pulled it out this time. I liked when he seemingly frightened Randy with his mock anger to the "Randy's Sage Words of Advice" portion of the show and his "Like I was going to know a Doja Cat song!" rant. (I also guessed when it played that he wasn't going to know that the one song was called "Tubthumping" and that he would be upset. Jane handled his response pretty well.) Link to comment
rr2911 February 7 Share February 7 I read in an older post that the stage band was changed. I thought that the members looked different. I did like the previous band better. They did a great job of sounding like the real artists. I guess the NTT with regular people is not coming back? I prefer regular people because they are competing to win money for themselves! In Bid-A-Note and in the last round, I wished the amount bidding would be increased to where the contestant that is behind can win that round and the whole game. It doesn't make sense when you have a trailing contestant winning the last round but the amount won will not give them the overall win. Why play the last round when that contestant can not win? KWalkerInc March 4 Share March 4 The show returns Monday, June 3. It doesn't say whether these are still celebrity episodes or if they will have regular people as contestants. Link to comment

The ‘ celebs’ weren’t that great. The regular contestant did great. 1 Link to comment
KWalkerInc June 7 Share June 7 If it hadn't been for the judges/producers going easy on Karamo (more lenient than the rest of the game) on "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," they would have ended up in a tie at $2000 and I think Jane would have thrown herself on the floor again! It seemed like they were trying to make golden medley harder than usual (even on the celeb one, some were more obscure than they often are), probably to save money. The player in the regular game won a lot, but probably would have gotten more in the golden medley in some of the past seasons. She was very good at the "Remix'd" round, which is tough. KWalkerInc June 18 Share June 18 They had some good players in this week's episode, even though no one was a threat in the golden medley. At least I felt less stupid this week and could get a few right. Last week, the first game wasn't so bad, but I didn't watch the second one until Tuesday and couldn't get a single answer right in the first round (not even Queen), even though it was one of the straightforward games and not Remix'd. My brain had still worked during Beat Shazam, so I don't know what the problem was. I think that was the one where the players got three right on just one note on Bid a Note, so that was pretty impressive by them. Link to comment
Bob N June 26 Share June 26 I am wondering if the contestants are advised that the musical clues are not always going to be the beginning of the melody. It might be the hook, it might be the lyrics containing the song title that isn't from the beginning of the melody, it's even is sometimes the instrumental opening or bass line like tonight's old time rock and roll? 1 Link to comment
jmonique July 2 Share July 2 (edited) Is Randy sick? Also, is it just my family: He does a horrible job during Bid a Note. I don't play piano, admittedly, but he's the worst. It's nearly impossible to discern a song. Edited July 2 by jmonique Link to comment
KWalkerInc July 25 Share July 25 I usually only get an answer during Bid a Note if I get it off the clue. I usually don't recognize the song at all when Randy plays it, or get some incorrect answer in my head after the clue and can't get past it. An exception was this week with "Rock You Like a Hurricane." The second Golden Medley seemed like it was easier than the first this week. I was perplexed during the first one when I realized that one song was the theme from "New Girl." I only knew because I bought the song long ago when I liked the show. It isn't played during the show except for the "Who's that girl? It's Jess!" part which lasts like three seconds (and isn't what they played here). Then after that game ended, they immediately showed a commercial for a movie that features Zooey Deschanel. I wonder if that is just a coincidence. Link to comment
UsernameFatigue August 14 Share August 14 Not much traffic on this site, but I had to comment on last night's show. It seems like it has been ages since anyone won the $100,000. I didn't have much hope for the contestant going into the Golden Medley, and was shocked that knew all of the songs! The most touching and hilarious part was Jane's reaction. I find her to be a boring host for the most part (and Randy even more so) so when she jumped into the contestant's arms and wrapped her legs around his waist, I had to laugh. I am sure some of her reaction was relief, as she even commented to Randy during Bid a Note at how badly that section was going! I am sure they must see ratings in their eyes when contestants perform poorly! In any case it was a lovely surprise to have a $100,000 winner, for everyone involved I am sure! 2 Link to comment
KWalkerInc August 15 Share August 15 That was a great reaction when Jane jumped on the guy who had surprisingly won! I think she always wants the contestants to win, but probably more of a balance for the production company. On all of these musical game shows, they keep trying to make it harder so they don't have to give away too much money; but if no one ever wins, it's not so interesting for the audience and can affect ratings. (Though this show doesn't seem to have as many budget worries with not having as big a prize. It has so many episodes and has already apparently been renewed for another season.) I like Jane except for when she does the dramatic fake-outs, pretending someone is wrong when they're not. The player is already nervous in Golden Medley, so that's not necessary! I get tired of Randy's hot-takes/advice sections. It's such a deliberate way to involve him, although at least he doesn't recite famous quotes before Golden Medley now, so it's not quite as bad. 1 Link to comment
