Starchild November 9, 2020 Share November 9, 2020 The mother ship set the precedent. We separate the cast and then spend the entire season getting them back together. Aside: the live watch thread really ruins this one. I can't participate in a scene-by-scene thread that's overwhelmingly fragmented, too confusing. I prefer to come here for cohesive analysis and opinion of the entire episode. But a lot of people don't come here after the live thread (understandably), and the in-depth conversation suffers. nodorothyparker November 9, 2020 Author Share November 9, 2020 I love that since recovering from his festering gunshot wound, Morgan has found time to become an expert roper in his new role as Badass Cowboy of the Apocalypse. There was some speculation elsewhere and an interview with the actress who plays Sherry that both seemed to think she was the mystery person who saved Morgan after Virginia left him to die. But this episode would seem to debunk that as they showed no sign of recognizing each other. I needed outside media to remind me that the leader of the Jason cosplayer group is the same guy Dwight let live back when they were messing with the Max Headroom group. Dwight basically told him then that it was a choice to be an asshole, so get your shit together and live instead and this is what he did. A lot of this was the standard stand around and agonize over doing something this franchise is famous for. I'm most interested that while the mothershow has spent seasons now twisting itself into knots trying to make the Redemption of Negan happen, this one has two people who were profoundly hurt by him and another who fought against him front and center and as a result isn't trying to gloss over how damaging all of that was. But it probably helps that he's not now one of the "stars" of this one and they haven't had a big time jump where everybody was supposed to have gotten over it and moved on. 1 4 Link to comment

You mean, like.....how TWD taking 2 full seasons to bring Negan to his knees? I know they want to keep these characters in the mix to create tension and drama by not killing them off too soon, but at least don't have them in a situation where they are presented with a golden opportunity to take Ginny and her main crew out Example - the episode where Strand and Alicia took down some of the men, grabbed their weapons and killed those walkers only to come out and find Ginny and about 4 of her men lined up in front of them, Talk about handing them over on a silver platter! They were all lined up like a firing squad and Strand, Alicia and Charley were armed. SHOOT.THEM and TAKEOVER! 5 Link to comment
heisenberg November 10, 2020 Share November 10, 2020 I have only two words for this season: spaghetti werstern. Good or bad? Don't know yet... 3 Link to comment
nodorothyparker November 10, 2020 Author Share November 10, 2020 I curiously find myself kind of enjoying the Western but with zombies vibe they're going for this season. It still has the usual pacing problems and a villain who grates a full block of cheese in every appearance, but it's at least keeping me awake. 5 Link to comment
One4Sorrow2TooBad November 10, 2020 Share November 10, 2020 I found it to be a lackluster, boring ,drama crap filled episode, more nauseating pontification from Morgan . 2 Link to comment

I got the sense he just kind of woke up in that tower. ETA: I just hope it's Madison. Yeah I said it Edited November 10, 2020 by Starchild 1 1 2 Link to comment
Nicmar November 10, 2020 Share November 10, 2020 so at the end of the episode, the office people from a couple of episodes ago, have these people been outside since the outbreak and what their clothes are those same ones they were wearing when the outbreak happened? 1 2 Link to comment

That would be the type of thing TPTB would do. Just think of the massive flashback that would probably take several seasons to air, explaining where she has been all of this time. As much as I hated her, the way she "died" was absurd. Murphy's first rule of the apocalypse, we didn't see her die, so she's not dead. 1 6 Link to comment
Haleth November 11, 2020 Share November 11, 2020 Two questions. Haven’t we seen this plot several times already? And where the heck is Morgan’s dog? 2 Link to comment
One4Sorrow2TooBad November 12, 2020 Share November 12, 2020 Speaking of Murphy, dang, I miss Z Nation, now that was a zombie series that was fun. On 11/10/2020 at 2:10 PM, BasilSeal said: Murphy's first rule of the apocalypse, we didn't see her die, so she's not dead. 3 Link to comment

I guess it's back at the secret dry reservoir (which will be impossible for ginny to find, oh yes), with the woman and her baby. 1 Link to comment

This is the kind whoops, not really dead "twist" this franchise would pull. And Morgan never met Madison, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. At least we saw Nick be dead dead dead (including rolling around the floorboard of the SWAT vehicle for most of an episode), so there wouldn't be any more weird inappropriate chemistry there. I can't wait for Morgan to return to the secret dry reservoir that no one can find ever and find new mom and baby Morgan turned because he left them alone for so long. The mother show would do it in a heartbeat. You know they would. 1 1 Link to comment

Do we know for a fact that he's not going back there once in a while? Who knows what the timelines are between episodes? As for Madison, it's likely Morgan saw her in Al's video right? So he at least knows what she looks and sounds like? Before the fire anyway. Edited November 12, 2020 by Starchild 1 Link to comment
