This makes far more sense.  I don't think someone who was a regular commentator would risk their reputation by being on a real housewives show. 

I also think that, for a variety of reasons, Wendy being a commentator on Fox must be a hard gig.  I haven't seen or watched her, but I can see where she might feel like the antagonistic token foil for the rest of the panel.*  And if she is only doing it on an ad hoc basis, its probably not bringing in the money she'd like and its not giving her the cache or publicity she'd like.  

For her, the risk is worth the reward, she probably wasn't making that much money or getting that much prestige as a commentator so its not much to give up.  Though, a professor of mine was interviewed by TED FREAKING KOPPEL on Nightline, and I positively swooned.  So maybe its prestigious if you want to impress dorks like me.  

* Before anyone comes @ me, just know I say the same thing about Rick Santorum on CNN.  Though I think he might get some kinky pleasure out of being humiliated on a regular basis.

This was one of my favorite Real Housewife scenes too. I love that even Dr. Wendy cracked up.
