Maybe they will bring back Mechad Brooks's Jimmy Olsen even though he would not be the same Supergirl Jimmy Olsen.

Mechad's pretty busy with Law and Order, so if Jimmy Olsen shows up they'll likely recast.

THR thinks the next season might not air until next summer:

The CW, now controlled by Nexstar, has only four holdovers from its Mark Pedowitz-led regime and the Brad Schwartz-run network is looking at April for the returns of All American and its Homecoming spinoff and Walker. All three of those are expected to air 13-episode seasons that spill over into the summer. Superman & Lois, which will return with 10 episodes, will come later to allow time for visual effects work.

The CW has announced its Spring premiere dates and Superman & Lois isn't on that schedule. Hopefully something more will be said at the TV Critics press tour this morning where the CW is presenting

Per this article https://www.thewrap.com/cw-brad-schwartz-dennis-miller-interview-linear-tv-strategy/

it was Warner Bros' decision to end the show per the CW bosses, because they didn't want a competing Superman product in the marketplace (referring to the upcoming DC movie Superman: Legacy).

Boo, hiss

Sounds like someone's trying to shift the blame. Didn't they say before that the show was too expensive? With the CW bloodbath that happened the last couple seasons, I doubt this was getting a fifth season in any case. Also, in no way is this CW show competition for a movie that wasn't going to come out until after the show ended - even if it had a fifth season.

It certainly seemed that they said it was too expensive before but maybe practically squeezing it dry made it affordable. But if dropkicking most of the cast except for the 4 Kent family members would be what they needed to afford the show, it probably is best that it end with this upcoming season, with the caveat that we haven’t seen it yet to fully judge
