ElectricBoogaloo March 8, 2020 Share March 8, 2020 Quote In the style of a Korean drama, Grandma tells Nora the story of how she met her husband. Original air date: 3/11/20 Link to comment
Ms Lark March 12, 2020 Share March 12, 2020 (edited) I'm not the demographic this show is geared to, so I find it over-the-top irritating most of the time. I do love Grandma and I can't say how much I loved hearing/seeing her backstory. It was so well done and quirky and sweet I think I can watch it several more times just because. I really loved it. Why do you say that, Ms Lark? I think the target demo goes beyond Asian Americans and the typical 18-49 age group to anyone who finds this show amusing. I've certainly been enjoying it. This was a great little stand alone episode. Grandma is such a great character, and young Shu Shu was a hoot! I'm really pleased this show already got greenlit for another season. 5 Link to comment

No, I find Nora's antics annoying most of the time. Although, I think she's probably immature for whatever age she's supposed to be. At 70, I am definitely not the audience they are geared toward. ElectricBoogaloo March 14, 2020 Author Share March 14, 2020 (edited) This was one of my favorite episodes of the season. The k-drama format was already awesome and the frosting on the cake was the list of awesome guest stars (Jamie Chung as Young Grandma, Simu Liu as Garbage Boy, Harry Shum Jr. as Doc Hottie, Stephanie Hsu as Shu Shu, and Alex Wong as the dancing Red Guard - make sure you watch the end credits!). I definitely need to rewatch this episode several times. I loved the ridiculous humor sandwiched into a love story. Edited March 15, 2020 by ElectricBoogaloo 4 Link to comment
possibilities March 15, 2020 Share March 15, 2020 I find Nora annoying, but I love Grandma, and the dad is good, too, when they give him anything to do. I'm on the fence about the cousin; he sometimes annoys me but I really liked that he wasn't trying to compete with Nora over Grandma last week, and he gave Nora all the credit she was due when they pitched the app. I wish the story was about Grandma and Dad, with the kids as secondary, but alas! Advertisers want the younger demo. 1 Link to comment
lambertman March 17, 2020 Share March 17, 2020 Well, Awkwafina is the star on the rise. The show doesn't get made if it's not built around her. 1 Link to comment
kiddo82 March 31, 2020 Share March 31, 2020 Finally watched this off the DVR today. Easily my favorite episode thus far. I haven't seen much of Stephanie Hsu before (I am severely behind on my Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) but I now want her to become a huge star. I thought she was the standout of an already standout episode. And as a general observation, I would follow grandma into battle. 3 Link to comment
