Hmm, Grace VanderWaal is expected to open with 50-60k copies this week; after Pentatonix and Jackie Evancho, The Voice despite being the biggest hit is looking like the least of the NBC singing shows in terms of cranking out people who can sell.

Alicia's a great choice on paper. She's the only current one who's actually specifically known for having a great voice. And there was the nice PR about finally having an equal mix gender-wise.

AFHV is increasingly looking like the star of ABC Sundays. And it probably costs very little money.

Final estimate on kworb.net for the top Voice song this week: 14k, maybe #40 or so in Digital Songs? And that's the only song of the season to crack the iTunes T10. By this time last year Jordan had a song that hit 138k and #3 in Digital Songs. There are still like 10 million viewers, which is not a big drop from last year, so I guess the audience is just super unmotivated to buy the music. Playoffs + 2 regular live weeks, # of T10s: S11 1 S10, S7, S6, S5, S4, S3 2 S8 5 S9 8. 2015 sure was a big time for Voice downloads even early on.

I think even non-watchers of the show before the season started kinda assumed the girl with the amazing floor routine fresh off the winning Olympic team, with a personality that made her America's Sweetheart during the Games, would win. I wonder if TPTB will try to avoid having an Obvious Female Celebrity Frontrunner, so that Sharna can finally win after being 3rd, 2nd, 4th, and 2nd in her last 4 seasons.

Looks like iTunes means even less than usual with the super poor sales this season. Aaron + Darby were 4th and 5th on iTunes, but at unimpressive 39th and 46th placements overall - Digitalsalesdata estimates around 2k downloads.
