Mika was furious at Joe Biden's staff for letting him trip on a sandbag. Mika said the staff should have guided him after he got off the podium when he finished his speeches. Mika said she gives speeches and doesn't know where to go after the speech on some occasions. Mika hates tv news showing Biden's gaffes on a loop. Morning Joe brought back a focus group with Mark Halperin. Some people in the group were concerned about Biden's age, but will still vote for him. The director of Oppenheimer thanked Joe for writing his book on President Truman a few years ago. In the book, Joe wrote that President Truman was aware of the Oppenheimer Project & gave the green light to use the bomb on Hiroshima & Nagasaki. The movie probably would never have been made without Joe's critically acclaimed book.

The show used to do short interviews with stars of films. I remember when Mika interviewed Bradley Cooper for his film the A Team but she called his movie the A Squad. Joe also needed some time off to write his column on the state of America . Mika read several excerpts from the column with breathless enthusiasm.

Joe agreed to appear on Friday's show. He defended President Biden for wandering off the set during his interview with Nicole Wallace. Joe said it wasn't a big deal that Biden was misspeaking about Putin losing the war in Iraq instead of Ukraine. Joe said Biden has been misspeaking since 1987 when he was forced to withdraw from the presidential race. Joe didn't mention that Biden was accused of plagiarizing a speech from UK Labor leader Neil Kinnock. Joe is much more forgiving of Joe Biden's faux pas now than he would have been on the show before 2015. It's a sign of maturity.
