  1. That makes soooooo much sense. And yes, you are an angel. ♥ Thank you for all you do.
  2. Gil has been doing Janet's tours for years. I still don't believe any of these people would hold it against the kids, but I wonder how Brian feels about that clip where he featured Maddie's name in the title after this. (Not sure of the timing of the Tessandra taping and his posting of Maddie in his class.) The thing about DWTS is that though she didn't directly slam anything beyond what she saw - there are a lot of choreographers that have worked on DWTS doing the featured Macy's dances, like Travis Wall, Dee Caspery, eehhh I'm struggling to remember but some of the same folks we were talking about that are also on the convention circuit, plus Mandy Moore does a lot the group choreography for the bumpers and intro. eta: about the episode, besides being offended for Tessandra, I'm just disappointed that we didn't get a piece from her. :(
  3. I missed the first set of Hot Topics but stayed after the second for Misty Copeland, amazing young lady. The situation with Kelly Rutherford's kids is terrible!
  4. Is the Monday after the Fourth a particularly hard day? Or is it just the overwhelming need for mental health care in the V.A.? You're an angel either way. @HFC, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, you seem exceedingly qualified to find the right words, I have faith in you. ♥
  5. The thing is, from what we saw on camera - Tessandra was so incredibly sweet and professional. She told Abby that the moms called her but that she'd never presume to do anything without speaking to Abby first - and then Abby went all crazy with "not remembering her" (after she'd choreographed for AUDC) and making statements like "you haven't been on tv for five years" bullshit. That, I am sure is what set Brian and Gil off, it was just so unnecessary and I don't think it can be attributed to production monkeys. Abby is running into territory where she'll piss off a lot of the convention circuit teachers because they criss-cross all the time, Mia (who is bffs with Brian) has been with The Pulse, she's now with jump, but she's also been with NYCDA. Most of the Pulse are or have been SYTYCD choreographers, these are folks that you don't want to tick off. I think they are all above taking it out on the kids at actual conventions and competitions, but they sure as heck aren't going to want to teach for her or do master classes or choreography for her. They don't need her or her cameras, they are well established. Abby ran her mouth at DwTS too, I'm not sure what her end game is when she's just nasty to well established professional dancers and teachers that are nationally known. I suspect that she'll get hungry less established folks teaching for her, people that would like to get to the level of Tessandra and all her well established friends. They'd be smart to ask Blake first, we know he found the experience a little soul crushing.
  6. By choice or by rule? I'm just curious, I know for ballet we had the standard black leo, pink tights, pink alignment belt and slippers, but were more more free for lyrical, tap and jazz. Not that free though, ha! Our director wanted one solid color for tops and no crop/bra tops! (Very old school.) I know the leotard colors have become fun since she's at college, and there have been some really pretty new collections that she's been rocking that would have never been allowed at her studio.
  7. Exactly. And without the free opportunities like trips to Europe and Australia, not to mention travel all around the country.
  8. Both Kalani and JoJo qualified as Breakout Dancers at Nuvo in Minneapolis in February representing their "home" studios. JoJo's solo placed fifth in Jr and Kalani's solo "Video Games" was first overall in Teen, even though we are flyover country we have a few powerhouse studios here so they did very well. Kalani of course, also qualified at jump when she attended with ALDC.
  9. Kira should step off apologizing or making excuses for things that are self-evident and think about not renewing her contract in Kalani's best dance interests if that is what is most important to them. It seems to me watching an interview with Kalani from ALDC LA's Grand Opening that she's all systems go for next season and happy, happy, happy about the opportunities Dance Moms has given her. Kalani is my current favorite but you can't have it both ways. That said, perhaps now that the studio is opened, tech classes will take a higher priority again if there is a sixth season. Certainly, this sort of proves what the mothers were saying in the most recent episode about the importance of classes (which a lot of us knew), but excuse me Kira, it might not just be Maddie that is stagnating.
  10. I understand your philosophy @GEML but for me it applies to all but those that abuse and exploit children. Now, I realize that Josh not an adult at the time either, but even teens do nasty things to younger children that cause trauma. For me? There is a special place in hell for all of them. I'm against capital punishment, but I rethink that every single time a story comes out about heinous acts of child sexual abuse. And though Elizabeth Smart has handled her situation with grace, I remember before she was found thinking that she would be better off dead than trying to recover from whatever terrible situation she was in. Clearly, she is a young lady whose faith has helped her heal as well, that's so admirable. I'm just not that evolved, apparently.
  11. Oh, @brokefromdance, I wasn't apologizing about the correction! Sorry. It was all about the giggle about the spelling. ;)
  12. I'm sorry but it makes me giggle, it's Bostyn. ;)
  13. My working theory has always been that you can layer it on for the cold, but naked is naked and when you're overheated naked, there is nothing you can do. I grew up w/o air and shopped for my first home whilst pregnant. Central Air was MANDATORY!
  14. Chiming in on "perect" weather. I live on the arctic tundra, er Minnesota and it gets too hot here in the summer! I'm a mid 70s gal myself, I think I put up with all the weather shenanigans here in this state because we get about 30 pristine days between April and the end of June, where it's low humidity, 75, breezy and sunny. Autumn is my favorite season though. And I always felt this way - it's got nothing to do with my middle aged thermometer. ;) The GoFundMe link didn't work for me either.
  15. Personally, I"m more excited about the new Betsey Johnson pieces for Capezio as well as the Bradon Collection, but that's me. It's sort of silly that Maddie's "favorite" tap shoes are K360s and then we see them put taps on go-go boots on the show.
  16. The good news is that allows Kalani to compete for Best Dance again next year at TDA, they have a one year exclusionary rule. If she quits the show and spends time in class back at her studio her chances would be better, honestly. I've said all along that Maddie isn't all that special, in that there are so many incredibly talented kids out there competing, she's one of probably 50 across the country in her age cohort, and as always, different judges, different day. Here is the TDA NYC Schedule. Who were the top three for Jr's? Wasn't Sophia Lucia amongst the top 10?
  17. Jenny's ex makes a fool of himself on twitter after Gov. Brown signs the mandatory vaccine law, meanwhile the measles outbreak did cause a death, thanks "I am not anti-vaccine" Jenny! Good show, first death in the U.S. in 12 years!
  18. Ha! Questionable use of the word "crap" though.
  19. Just think, a year ago at this time we were hoping for a better show in the upcoming season, somehow the show managed to get worse. I'm confident that it will be even worse next season and it will be the last "reboot" and gone.
  20. I haven't watched PLL for years, but I'm guessing that it does have something to do with a suppressed memory that "might" lead back to whomever "A" is. And I agree about Maddie possibly getting typecast because of her Sia work.
  21. I find it really hard to believe that this group that posts on PTV isn't somewhat representative of the general public, in that most of us are so tired of Whoopi saying inappropriate shit and telling us that she doesn't care what we think. Maybe I'm wrong...
  22. All the more reason to set up a GoFundMe page, please let us know what it is. :)
  23. Something has to pay for all the Vuitton, lol. I noticed they all have backpacks now?
  24. I think they keep Wallace and boot Perez like they intended earlier in the year.
