  1. I wasn't suprised -- he was stalling the game as he has done the whole time he's been on.
  2. I totally blanked on FJ, but I've been humming "Drop Kick Me Jesus" all day.
  3. I hoped this would be a non-elim, since the tasks seemed so unbalanced -- mixing perfume perfectly versus ziplining? -- with no choice or option to switch. But I guess they were more even than they appeared, or the self-navigation/driving distance were equalizers. Nice suspenseful finish, too. ETA: Phil should always wear a tux.
  4. I don't think I've rooted so hard against a contestant since Arthur Chu. Alex-the-contestant made the show impossible for me to watch. I was surprised that only one of them got FJ, though.
  5. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel connects Virginia with Virginia -- it's still a bit of a drive before you get to Maryland that way.
  6. Maybe I'm being pedantic (but if you can't be pedantic regarding Jeopardy!, when can you be?), but I kept waiting for a correction to Eric's response of "University of West Virginia." There is no such place -- it is West Virginia University. I wouldn't have minded if Eric had won, but Brian's incessant starting at the middle of the category drove me nuts as usual. Also his attempts to eat up time, stretching out the name of the category and slowing down the game. I'm glad Kerry beat him in the end.
  7. I'm sorry I had to miss last night's game! Sounds like it was a (hilarious) disaster. ::off to j-archive::
  8. My thought process for FJ last night went like this: "Amy Tan! No, wait, Pearl Buck! No, no, Amy Tan!" Oh well. And on behalf of myself and all the other women who frequently travel alone, screw you, Alex.
  9. I didn't get to see last night's episode, but I did record it. Now I'm almost afraid to watch!
  10. In southwest Virginia, we get Wheel at 7 followed by J! at 7:30. Except during the NCAA basketball tourney, when we get them at 10 and 10:30 am. And Bull Run for Custer's Last Stand? I was speechless.
  11. I saw this this afternoon and enjoyed it. I agree that it pales in comparison to the first one, but Maggie and Judy are their usual wonderful selves.
  12. Well, that was annoying. The new King, that is, not the challenges. The challenges were great! I really liked both the quiz bowl and the puzzles/games -- that last one looked hard. With the crossword puzzle, though, I kept yelling at the TV that Imhotep was the Mummy! How could they not know that? I was also glad to see the end title wishing Bobby a speedy recovery.
  13. I heard that on the radio this morning as I was driving to work. :( Best wishes to him and his family!
  14. Grrrrr! I hate my local affiliate this time of year. They pre-empt Jeopardy! and all the prime-time shows in favor of the ACC basketball tournament. I'm sad that I missed out on a Weird Al clue!
  15. Tonight, James Bond was the first thing that popped into my head for FJ. The new champ reminds me of someone, but I can't figure out who -- does she remind anyone else of someone?
  16. I loved that challenge, too! But Event Horizon? Really? Or The Hulk? I don't think so. And sulfate? Nice try, but nope. The final is going to be very interesting. I'm still rooting for Kaitlin.
  17. That made me say, "WTF?" Do you suppose they thought E Street was too obvious? Did middle guy think Springsteen was in Chicago the band? I could barely watch tonight what with all the starting at the highest dollar clues.
  18. My FJ answer was the same as Rebecca's. And I totally felt like Cliff Claven.
  19. I don't know if I'm not making my point or what, but we seem to be talking at cross purposes. My original and continued point is, if you are excluding me, and I know you're excluding me, don't try to tell me you aren't. On to the next show!
  20. Here's the thing, though. No matter how secret you think your secret exclusive group is, the people who are being excluded know they're being excluded. Especially in a tiny, closed community such as Nerdvana. It was clear to me from Colby's language (verbal and physical) and from what Heather (? -- I've forgotten her name already -- the one Colby sent home in the nuclear nerd-off) said about not being able to choose between her friends, so she voted for Colby, that Colby knew very well that there was some clique he was not part of. So, he was having none of the "Oh, we're not excluding you!" bullshit, when obviously they were. What bothers me so much is not the clique (although it does), and the exclusion (although that does, too), but the denial of the exclusion. To Colby's face. And he was right to call them on it. But it matters no more, since the Houses are dissovled and it's every nerd for him- or herself. Go, Kaitlin!
  21. For once, I am glad I will miss Jeopardy! tonight. The starting in the middle of the column drives me nuts! Maybe he'll lose tonight. And no, just "Guthrie" and just "Thompson" should not have been acceptable answers at all.
  22. And that's fine, but if you are obviously excluding someone, don't try to tell that someone you aren't.
  23. I am not annoyed that the alliance worked. I am annoyed that there is an alliance, and I'm annoyed that the people in the alliance are trying to pretend that they're not in an alliance and that they're not excluding other people. You can't sneak around behind my back with your little alliance, then try to tell me that you like me too, and that you're not trying to be exclusive.
  24. Wasn't there a movie called "The First Monday In October" about the first day of the first woman to be on the Supreme Court? That TS surprised me on today's game.
