  1. Exactly right, @dgpolo. They all had various motives (brother had drug problem and he only gave brother a small allowance and brother owed baddies, sexy collegue wanted to publish, protegee (I can't remember.). Also, I think there was something about the mayor meeting him in the morning wanted to build at the base of the volcano. They arrested the mayor, who was not part of the murder, for something else. Sorry, now I can't remember, and I just watched on Acorn a couple of weeks ago!
  2. I think the amulets are a way to sell Tree of Life jewelry. The tree of life is everywhere recently, and I'd be willing to bet that Hallmark has a line of jewelry that includes the tree. (The amulets and Joy's rock sculpture were perfect trees of life.)
  3. Even worse: He is a deadringer for an ex-boyfriend of mine. I dated him over 6 years and he dumped me for my best friend! But that notwithstanding- I agree about Adam's crazy person eyes. They are too close set or something.
  4. I can't believe Dr. Oz was not up there as an answer for doctors who you wouldn't want to operate on you! I also was surprised Dr. Pepper wasn't an anwer. Dee and Terry were friendly and hilarious to each other!
  5. Sorry, I tried to quote both posters who said they like Martha and Tom, but my computer is evil. Anyway, I agree - Martha and Tom have awesome chemistry. It was one of my wishes that we'd see more Tom, and it's come true! My coin must've hit the bottom of the well instead of landing in the bucket. And, the poster who said Sam is either dour or glum was so right! I'm sick of him. It irks me that his clinic has gone by the wayside too, and that the hospital in another town now seems to be nearby in Middleton. I thought George's love interest, Samantha, would be annoying, but I actually liked her when they brought her back this episode, so that was a happy surprise.
  6. Wow. I haven't watched the whole episode yet because Mama Doris was being particularly loud, obnoxious, and annoying. She really ruined a lot of my enjoyment of this episode.
  7. Did you notice that Scott was not part of the tequila toast at the end? I laughed at Kim, Khloe and Kourtney all trying to sit there and look demure, while Kendal kept butting in.
  8. I liked the (still unbelievable but better than we've been getting) storyline about Cassie's mother's friend. The radio coming back to "life" was a lot like the movies we all love (well, at least the later movies, when the magic was starting to get watered down and not like the earlier, better movies where there was magic). They left it up to interpretation whether Cassie magically did it or if it was just a latent result of George's tinkering. But, I loved that brooms fell down both at Grey House and the mother's friend's home! That harkens back to the tone of the movies a bit. Plus, they actually remembered Cassie's broom!!
  9. This was SO bad, I had to find a forum to see if others hated it as much as I did. Primetimer did not disappoint me! They have GOT to get more famous celebs. I don't think any of the bachelors in the second one even knew who the celebrity was. I also think the armpit stained gentlemen was one of the contestants on I Love New York years ago. I just saw the reunion show recently, weirdly put together after about 10 years had gone by.
  10. I just wish that once - for ONE episode, at least- someone besides the DI would solve the case, or at least make a major contribution to figuring out part of the puzzle. I love this show, but it's crazy that there have been ten seasons of everyone standing around waiting for the DI to figure out a twist.
  11. @iMonrey I will have to watch again. It was so unmemorable I have forgotten. There seemed to be a subplot about the second-in-charge to the Grand Poobah AKA George, putting weird tasks in the jar. It sounded a bit like the guy was trying to get the leopard pledges to do his own work or something, but they didn't really flesh that out. George finally called him on it and they all voted to let the pledges in, except for the bartender. That guy turned out to be an old classmate of Adam's who Adam had humiliated by beating him in chess in four moves. This set off a dominoe effect in the guy's life, which sucks as a result (supposedly). George and the 2nd guy admitted they fight like they just did over the pledge tasks 10 times a day and always make up. Adam gave the bartender a rematch, off camera, and the guy won in two moves. The guys suspect Adam let that happen. Sam then admits that he was blaming Adam. Their make-up was boring and fairly uneventful. Hello Donovan, potential voters. You should be all over the Leopard Lodge! Hello director, why not show the guys doing the funny tasks? Adam and Sam's pepper machoness was stupid. And, how was Sam supposed to mop blindfolded while his arm was in a sling? Maybe that's why they didn't show it. I got a feeling that a lot more was filmed in this episode and then edited, including Abigail and Joy's dad. Oh, and Cassie continued to be morose and she and Sam put her initials on her parents' kite and flew it.
  12. I just saw a preview for next week's show on the Hallmark site, and it looks as though George actually mentions Samantha to Cassie. So, it sounds like they're resurrecting her from last season. As much as I grouse and gripe that characters just disappear, I worry that this particular character could grate pretty quickly on the nerves. We'll wait and see though.
  13. And, they still won't mention the word "magic." At least last night the three cousins had a talk about when they first realized they had heightened intuition. And, they are using rune stones. Abigail had "intuition" about what was in Joy's father's pocket. I still think that Hallmark is afraid of losing a base of fundamentalist Christians if they actually utter the word "magic" on the show. *sigh* I still thing the writing is better this year though. Oh, how about the Leopard Lodge being pulled out of nowhere though? At least they are thinking of things for George to do, which I appreciate. They had Stephanie acknowledge the age gap this episode too, which I also appreciated. How come Adam seemed all fine with Stephanie telling him about her date though? Did anyone notice that the mug they had Martha breaking was not one of the family's ever-present set of turquoise colored stoneware? (I was glad about that. I like those mugs.)
  14. I was sort of heartened, but mostly disappointed with Cassie's bonsai tree plot. Yes, it was a device for her to spark Sam's realization of the blocked artery. BUT! They missed a chance for her callback to magic regarding plants. She used to kind of be able to communicate with them and seemed to know what they were "thinking" or "feeling." This just seemed like an educated guess. Bummer.
  15. I wish they had let Mr. Cherry move on to the next round. I'd take him over a singer any day. (Wel, the only singer I have liked is Darci Lynn.) Is it weird that I want to know what his pants pockets were made of, to protect his heinie from the hard walnut shells? I wonder if they had an official there from Guiness to document the record?
  16. At least there weren't TOO many singers. I renew my complaint that I'd rather see the variety acts - if I wanted to see tons of singers I'd watch one of the singing competitions.
  17. I haven't looked for it in awhile, but does anyone know why Steve's Twitter account was deleted?
  18. I keep wondering if the Discovery + channel is proving to be successful or not. I do like how they do the exercise where one listens to the spirit box or whatever with a blindfold on, and the other asks questions. I still hate how they glom onto a theory and then act as if it is fact. It cracks me up when Chip does the long distance readings over the computer. I do like Chip though, and am happy he's still on the show.
  19. Not. Sethward. AGAIN!!!!! I had to watch him get gonged on the Gong Show too. (Well, I didn't HAVE to, but I stupidly did.) He had a big sob story about how his father didn't approve. Sethward, he didn't approve because you suck!!! I have been debating whether or not the movement non-dancing guy was a brilliant comic or actually that geeky.
  20. I am doing a rewatch from the start and, like a poster above, find Camille less enjoyable this time around. It sure was great to see her and Richard Poole again though, this season! I thought that she had never met Florence before or, if so, only briefly, but I am on Season 4 and they are together for the first few episodes, so far. Don't know how I forgot that. I didn't know that! Thanks for sharing.
  21. Thanks @jada. That's interesting and I never think to look at the "self" portion of IMDB. Who knew he was on food shows so much?! Okay, I seem to be in the minority - I thought the writing has gotten BETTER this season and the last one. (Not that it's GOOD, mind you, just better than it was when I swear none of the writers had seen one of the movies or an episode of the t.v. show.) I think that what Hallmark meant when they said they were bringing the magic back was just that the show was coming back. (Then again, I never saw the promo.) It was just their marketing tag, maybe written by someone not familiar with the show. Is that a new actor playing the son? And @iMonrey I agree with your post, and we both think George is a serial killer hiding bodies in the basement. Well, now we know he goes to that church and volunteers once a month, we know where the bodies are buried! Hmmmm...just realized...George CAN'T let them move or tear down the church because they'd find the bodies! I liked the flashbacks this time. I think it was an effort to fill in some of the gaps we've complained about between the movies and the t.v. show. Though, I had some of the same questions about Abigail, but think that she just came back for visits for ocassions like Cassie's baby shower. Good point though, from the poster above about her having to be introduced to everyone at the start of the t.v. show. So, I note that many t.v. shows have two main story threads going and show one on the first week, and the other every other show. So, next week we will get back to the hospital administrator. (Maybe?) Wonder if Bailey Madison filmed her telephone call cameo before she left the show? Agree that the new French teacher looks like a high school kid. Ugh.
  22. My favorite character is Martha, followed by Joy, Cassie, and Abigail. I miss Derek. He was formerly my favorite. OOOOOh, Tom is my very favorite too. Love him! Donovan's mother is my least favorite. I didn't like the foster brother, Vincent, when he was partnered with Stephanie on the food truck, but I kind of like him this time around. I'm glad they are rehabilitating the hospital administrator guy, and am also glad Joy's stupid partner left. I miss Martha's assistant guy who used to run around after her. I'd rather see more Tom and George though. Hmmm...we haven't seen the woman who runs Sam's office in awhile either. She's probably buried under the floor boards too. One more thing - I did like that Abigail did some magic in the last episode, with Donovan's throat and drink. (Though it's debatable if doing magic like that on your loved one is a good thing, even if it's for his own good.) Frankly, I'm glad Grace is gone. I never really warmed to her character. I was shocked that Martha seems to have stopped over-accessorizing. She only had a scarf on at the 50's night! Not a scarf, pin and necklace. She's slipping. 😄
  23. Sorry I screwed this up so I can't comment in between the separate quotes I copied. Anyway, No, I don't think the writers know what they are doing and I think the George retcon is a bit insulting. At least they made Abigail comment something like, "How could we not have known that?" about his knowing their great grandmother. On the other hand, I DO like that they have kept George and are giving him a storyline. I wish they'd pursue his love interest he had last year though. It sounded, from this episode, like Adam's mission was only two months! So, this makes their breakup and whining even more annoying. Who can't just live their life themselves for two months?! Stephanie was whining in the first one that she just stayed home and made coffee. Her solution in epi 1 was to re-do the diner. In epi 2 now it's all just about an alcove? *Snore* The Hallmark site did have a family tree up, at least last year. I'm at work, and am not going to go search for it now, but it used to be there and was helpful. I do wish it had other characters' relationships on it too. Well, Abigail showed some growth. She went from being a hyper-competetive trash talker to not even gloating over her team's little win. I also liked that Martha stopped her snark when Mrs. Davenport said she needed a friend, and sat right down to talk and commisserate.
