  1. What's the Shelbi boyfriend debacle? I haven't scoped out her social media like others have, but she does strike me as quite privileged and had a certain air of entitlement on the show, especially when she started crying to Kelli, Judy, Kitty, and Melissa that she was sure she had the same potential as her close Cheer Athletics friends who made the team and how devastated she was that she didn't get the same chance. It's interesting to me that the CA girls seem to struggle so much with auditions and TC--several in the past years either don't make the team or become one-year wonders (except Caila, who made it two years). I'm sad to hear Kat didn't make it to DMD, and that Caila apparently didn't try out. Very valid point, that any dance team that takes KD multiple years has some other priorities or standards for selection. Mystifying, yes, but apparently true. Definitely will be intrigued to find out WTF with the TCCs performing in uniform. Also curious WTF is with that awful music--it seemed like a weird song to try to dance to in a performance like that. That camera work was ridiculous--why even post such an unsteady and blurred video??--but the glimpse I got of Maddie wasn't wonderful. I will be very disappointed if MMT season 11 becomes the Maddie Show. Or the Emily Show, because I can't even with that girl.
  2. In years past, several TCCs have made the team who weren't in the top 36 (or whatever the set number was for those particular years), while other girls who ranked in the top tiers didn't make it. Ashley F, Loren, and Kat, for instance, weren't in the top tiers originally and made the team. And awkward Megan from last season was, according to Kelli, one of some judges' favorites (I'm guessing they weren't in the interview to see her "blanking" and cover by saying "I do love the Cowboys"). We all saw what happened with her. I agree with others that, if there are only 4-5 girls to cut that doesn't make for much of a show called MTT, since there'd be little wondering about who would make the team. I really love seeing the underdogs work hard to step it up and make it. They all know the reality and odds going into training camp, and certainly they've seen the show and how things roll. So while I feel badly for most of the girls who get cut, I I don't see the process of whittling down to the best team as unfair or cruel. That said, I too, am surprised and curious about the number of cuts that remain this far into camp! As for comments up thread comparing Mackenzie's kicks to Kali's or Taylor's, I disagree that they were basically the same. Mackenzie improved her kicks and splits rather dramatically during TC, and continued to improve while she was on the team. Kali couldn't even do full splits when she auditioned for her second year, and while I thought Taylor's kicks improved some, I didn't see nearly as much increased flexibility as with Mackenzi Lee. I wonder who the kick line stragglers will be this year!
  3. So, Emily is still in camp??! That seems so crazy to me. I'm not usually a hater -- & I definitely don't hate a young lady I don't even know -- but I kind of feel like one about her, because I feel so strongly that she shouldn't make the team. I hated her dancing when she was last in TC, and in the audition video this year. I just don't perceive her as worthy of being a DCC in terms of performance abilities. I also found her personality, as portrayed on MTT, to be too airy and clueless to be enjoyable, and I think she looks awkward in virtually every action dance photo I've seen of her, especially with her eyes and frozen face and unpointed toes. I genuinely would be disappointed to see her on the team. I rarely have felt so strongly about a candidate (I mean, really, who makes the team is no skin off my nose), but man, I don't even see why she made it to camp over other women who can, you know, dance. While I'm bummed that social media has given us so little to go on during training camp, it makes me more excited to see the show in LESS THAN A MONTH! I have virtually no clue about first-time TCCs, and I'm eager to see them dance and be introduced on the show. Also eager to see the 2nd episode and find out what the judges had to say about Caila and Kat getting cut. I also love the interviews, and seeing who is composed and articulate and who is airheaded or plain clueless. Not sure anything will top the moment Charlotte asked where in Europe should the NFL go, and the girl said "Africa." That was even worse (barely) than the girl who literally didn't know what a political party was. I would like to get to see some girls take the written test, or see some being scored. I'm curious about the questions on it, and about who nails it and how many bomb it.
  4. I wish CMT would film at least 1 night of rookie week!! I really enjoyed the segment several years ago (season 3?) of rookie night w/ an assistant choreographer/former DCC. I want to say Megan Fox, but isn't she that actress? Anyway, we got a glimpse of a former star DCC giving feedback to TCCs, & focusing especially on candidates who K & J had put on notice, particularly, it seemed, regarding style & performance power. I always love seeing vets & pros working with the DCC--the show is called Making the Team, after all, and I like seeing the work that goes into it. On the other hand, I was underwhelmed by the scene several seasons ago where vets went bowling in goofy costumes while rookies rehearsed. (It was sweet when the military vets showed up tho.) As for previous discussions regarding TCCs they may have regretted taking or not taking, I don't think they regretted cutting Courtney or Taylor last season. I think they wished they didn't feel they had to cut them, but that's not the same thing. Courtney is charming & a very fun performer, but her lack of training showed, especially in her feet. I think she would have stuck out on the field, and not in a good way, but I bet she'd have been great on appearances. I think Taylor is an even better performer than Courtney, and I found her sexy-pretty (as opposed to C's cute-pretty), but those kicks--no way. I think that, if she'd made the team, tons of people on here would be blasting videos and pictures of how sloppy the kick line looked and how un-DCC-worthy her kicks are. I didn't know Chantel had auditioned before! Good for her for not giving up on what she wanted and working for it. I know there are mixed opinions about her looks, but I think she's one of the most stunning cheerleaders on the team currently. And while I'm often a harsh critic of fake boobs (mostly when I think they look obviously fake, not out of some sort of plastic surgery "principle"), if she's got them (as folks have debated here), I think they look just fine! I wished last season to have seen more of her dancing and personality. I was curious about the pretty curly-haired half-Lebanese rookie and her story! Now that I know there's more to her story than making it the first time she auditioned, I'm even more disappointed that she wasn't a rookie they bothered to really introduce us to on the show. I'd happily have watched less of Kat or Belk fashion show to get more glimpses of the rookies like Chantel or Amy L. I really hope that, with so many TCCs this year, they do a good job of introducing the audience to as many TCCs as possible, and don't just focus on a few girls and/or mostly underdogs who don't make it or who become 1-season wonders. CMT, if you're reading, please take note! You still have time to film a rehearsal during rookie week! :)
  5. Regarding weight and potential double standards, I always have thought we see far less of the weight management on the show than what actually happens on the team. I remember when Hannah got cut, Kelli told her she'd received weight warnings during her rookie year and had gained 10+ pounds over her audition weight. I've also read that Kelsi Reich was almost always on WW, but she often was a favorite (and always looked great to me--curvy but super fit). My point is that I feel pretty sure that Amy T and Melissa have gotten notices from the management, even if we don't see it on the show. I actually appreciate that we don't see all the weight drama in its full glory, because it must be embarrassing for the girls featured, and because I think a greater hyper focus on weight on the show would give the wrong message to many impressionable viewers about how they should view their own bodies and others'. On the flip side of the weight issue, I think that Kelli Q's thinness makes her look older, and I imagine that's what made/allowed judges to pass her over in previous years. She's a beautiful dancer and I always wanted to see her make it to TC, but I'm not that sold on her appearance yet. I think several TCCs would benefit from practicing their makeup to get their best look possible.
  6. I recall K & J being very impressed with how photogenic Stephanie was during her rookie cameo shoot. Her look has grown on me, & I think she's much prettier without the intensely red hair. As for the way we (including myself here) discuss/think about the girls' looks, I sometimes think it's ironic that we simultaneously pick apart girls who may not have the "DCC look" but then also criticize the team & directors for uniformity of the cheerleaders' appearance & valuing looks over other things like dance or intelligence. (Not just talking about what we say about Stephanie here, she's just the latest example.) There definitely are some DCC over the years who I favor less because I don't care for their looks somehow, but as others have said, Kelli does well to select a variety of girls to appeal to different people's tastes. I really do appreciate, though, that a team that embraces beauty standards as a rule of thumb sometimes does have girls who aren't as pretty. It suggests to me that they are chosen because they are great performers, & are beautiful & admirable people in terms of who they are & how they treat others. I think Jinelle could be an example of this, as there continues to be mixed reactions to her looks while she's considered "the full package" by the team. Also, the longer girls are on the team, the more they learn about styling their look to best advantage. I think Jenn K looks much prettier & more glamorous than her rookie season, when I recall some ambivalence about her appearance. Even this year, folks were debating if she should be point girl because not everyone thought she's beautiful. (Certainly, Whitney & Holly are tough acts for anyone to follow, for their dancing & looks.) Frankly, there are multiple TCCs this year that I don't yet find that pretty, even after makeovers, & I'm assuming at least some of them have sparkling personalities & performance skills that got them into camp. I also assume I will find some of them more attractive when the show airs, when I can see more than a couple tiny photos of them, & can get to see their personalities & dancing.
  7. One of the photographers from the swimsuit shoot does the cameos & team photo. He's a fashion photographer, Jeremy Shelby. I like his work, very creative. The other photographer on the trip was new working with DCC. Wade L, who had been a long time swimsuit photographer for them, unexpectedly passed away this year. I haven't seen the magazine, but I think most* of the photos posted here look really good to great. The settings, the suits, & the girls are beautiful to my eye. And compared to past years, I think their makeup looks better, & also unlike years passed, they all look healthy rather than too twiggy. I remember one year where several of my favorite cheerleaders looked like they had the bobble head effect going on, meaning their heads looked too big because they were so thin. While everyone has their own opinion (of course!) I think some of the critiques up thread are a bit harsh, because these girls are not professional models & have limited to no experience doing shoots at all, let alone in itty bitty bikinis. While I would (could!) never wear one, I have no problem with skimpy bottoms, & I know such suits are pretty standard in some parts of the world. If my ass looked like Stephanie's, I'd be showing mine too, at least when on a beach in Mexico--probably not at the neighborhood pool. Also, most of the Star readership is male, so I think that's the main target audience. Sexy sells!
  8. I'm sorry that Whitney was the first to get cut--she obviously put her heart into this for years, has the look, & seems like a sweet young lady. However, I'm not surprised, since her dancing lacked precision & showed little improvement over the years that I've seen her audition videos for the fan vote. I've been curious about the number of rookies this year who had auditioned before. Were so many taken into camp because they rocked auditions & interviews this time around? Were candidate pickings slimmer this year? Or (this is the cynic in me) were some of these choices made for show drama? I really prefer to think that K & J don't mess with girls' dreams & lives like that, but I was underwhelmed by the dancing &/or presentation of several of the returning candidates, including Whitney, Emily, Kendall, Amy, & Maddie. I think Selina looks more mature, & hope the same can be said of her dancing. Still not a Kelsey fan. Excited for the group leaders & seconds!! I've been rooting for Jenna to be a leader since her rookie year (meaning I hoped she'd stay on the team long enough & be chosen, not that I thought she should have been a leader as a rookie). All great DCCs! I hate to agree, but Amy T does look heavier than last year--but even last year she had fuller thighs. That said, she absolutely rocked those curves last season & looked very fit. This year I'm worrying about weight probation for her. She's one of my favorite rookies from last year -- a fabulous dancer, very smart, beautiful smile, & seems to bring a lot to the team. I'm rooting for her to get in fighting form ASAP & hope she's healthy about it. As for cutting an equal number of rookies (or vets, yikes) from the groups, I don't think that's a rule of thumb, but convenient if it works out. I can't see K & J's determination to have only the best performers & ambassadors trumped by wanting to cut groups equally. Love that Jacie went natural!
  9. Sorry folks, I couldn't get rid of the quote box! Working on an actual comment now...
  10. I was impressed to learn that Michelle Keyes has tens of thousands of followers for her choreography on Instagram & her power classes now are drawing 100+ folks some class sessions. I'd love to see her teaching a technique class or choreo session in training camp. It looks like she did so shortly before auditions this year, maybe to prep vets for auditions. I realized I put my show wishlist/suggestions in the wrong thread & they should go here: I'd love to see Michelle or Sara Idziak or some other retired vet who is an assistant choreographer teaching at a TC rehearsal or working with TCCs on the show this year. But for the record, I enjoy seeing guest choreographers like Jordan & Bree as well. I also really want to see more of what group leaders & seconds do, including running rehearsals on nights K & J are absent. I enjoy watching vets help rookies with their dancing & performance, not so much with chatty pep talks. Loved watching Brittney E helping Mackenzie L with her kicks, for example, and other Mackenzie helping Sydney her rookie year. Another "scene" I think would be fun that could change things up a bit is to see what kinds of makeup & hair styling instructions/tips girls get during their makeovers or from the makeup artists & stylists when they're getting prepped for cameos. Not just before & after, but things like how to do (& blend!) their eyeshadow, lips, hair, etc. Learning how to style themselves is part of what K & J evaluate candidates on, & I imagine some viewers would enjoy some "glam" tips that can be toned down for a cocktail party or night on the town. I don't mean Abby Farrin fashion show advertising, however, but more of the artists talking girls through what they're doing while getting hair & makeup done. Or actual consultations about the looks girls come in with, like right & wrong colors girls wear (Breelan), how to highlight or create good cheekbones (like Brittney S's), or how to make different eye colors pop.
  11. In the brief clips of audition solos this year, the whole crowd was really into Yuko's dance. I think she's beautiful, dances well, & radiates a certain something in her photos that seems joyful & charming. I'm rooting for her. As for Amy, I think her rather impressive (& natural) chest helps keep her from looking too thin. But her legs are short & kicks need to improve 98% to be able to be near/on the end of the kickline. Ever since they cut Mandy from season 3 for being too short & getting swallowed up on the field, I've wondered why they can't put lifts in the boots of shorter ladies, a la Tom Cruise style, to give their legs & overall appearance an inch or two.
  12. Thanks for the squad announcement explanations & speculations, y'all! And the neglected & uninformative website sitch always baffles me too...
  13. You are correct that I didn't mean I wanted to see an entire episode w/o K&J, but I would like to see a scene w/ a group leader-led rehearsal. Or, as I recall several seasons ago, a rookies-only rehearsal. I think Megan Fox led it, & it was fun to see a former DCC & assistant choreographer teaching & giving feedback. She focused especially but not exclusively on the TCCs flagged by K&J. Anyone know who the assistant choreographers are now? I could imagine that another reason to fit most of the filming into June has to do with the move to Frisco & the expected chaos of all that in July. If the show airs the first week of August, any idea when the team will be announced?
  14. I imagine that as long as being on the show adds value to her bank account, Melissa will do it as long as she can! It definitely would be cool to see some of the TTCs work with stellar vets or retired vets this season. I recall seeing episode extras of rookies working with them & always wish for more of that instead of product plugs (ie Real Fit Foods) or a stupid parental intervention. I remember an extra of Audrea (?) working with Kalli on her kicks, & maybe of Jackie working with Jasmine, & I enjoyed seeing Loren working with Simone & Courtney last year. Since learning on here that K&J aren't at all the rehearsals, I'm also now more interested in seeing a rehearsal led by group leaders. I prefer all of that to Melissa therapy sessions, but I must say, I think her interventions (filming the rookies from the top of the stadium etc) seemed more useful last year than her first year. Someone upthread, from England I believe, asked someone to purchase & send the swimsuit issue to her (or him) abroad. I believe that you can purchase single issues of Star online, as opposed to a digital subscription, so you may be able to get just that issue, all without having to to leave your couch or waiting for the mail.
  15. I think Erica looks beautiful on the cover! I agree with others that some of the photo options were not the best of the girls. Jenna is gorgeous and so photogenic, for instance, but it wasn't a fab cover photo, partly because of the background. Has anyone seen the swimsuit issue? I'm curious about the other photos they picked from the shoot. I also wonder how much scrambling they have to do to adjust the swimsuit issue and calendars to account for cutting vets. I don't really imagine Kat would have made the calendar (as others have said, she's so skinny--even Judy thinks so and she never thinks girls are too thin), but Caila could have made the sidelines or swimsuit calendar, and I think they try to get at least one pic of each DCC in the magazine. I thought Caila looked fit in postings from the Mexico trip, so I just can't imagine what happened in a few weeks, but she definitely looked less toned by auditions. As for cuts this week, I think others are right to expect them. I'm betting on Emily being the first to go. I thought she was the worst in the videos. I also thought Kendall still looked weak, so I hope she's a better "take-home girl" this year. I appreciated how much Kelli and Judy admired her supporting herself and how hard she works, so I hope they give her time in camp. I would love to be wrong about this, but I don't see her making the team. I really like her though, so I'll be rooting for the underdog! Is Melissa still a showmanship coach? I read she just had another baby, and didn't see anything about her judging at auditions, so I wondered if she was doing it this year. Sorry if I'm asking old questions! I haven't been on here for so long, and I did read back at least 10 forum pages, but I feel like I'm missing some things.
  16. The middle picture of Emily that SleepyJean posted is the one I was referencing. It's worse than I remembered! Hunched torso (I presume from her effort to get her kicks high), hunched shoulders & wild arms (signaling lack of body awareness), flexed foot (showing no technique & total failure to work on her kicks over the past 2-3 years), & that wide-open mouth--oiy vey. Alongside the other pictures, this shows it's her dancing & not just one unfortunate photo moment. I don't think those kicks would be easy to fix in TC, as some folks have wondered, given that she's actually had years to improve. And these photos, plus her audition video, indicate that it's not just her kicks but her overall dance technique that is problematic. These last year's I've actually wondered how she made the Mavs Dancers. In terms of dance quality, she's in the Katheryn Dunn category for me--clunky, sloppy, & almost totally unpleasant to behold. She had seemed like a sweet little thing last time though, so I'm surprised & intrigued by speculation here that she's not well-liked. Maybe it's just because she's a crappy dancer who took a spot in TC & others resent that?
  17. Hello all! It's been ages since I posted but I've enjoyed reading the forum all the same. Regarding point girl, I agree that Jennifer has earned it, and think Erica, Jenna, Lacey, or Melissa would be the contenders after Jenn retires (someone here said maybe she'll be done after 4 seasons). I love that Jenna & Erica are in the triangle (I've loved them both since they auditioned & want to see them both get group leader--like others on here, I expect/hope Jenna to be a leader this year & Erica a 2nd.). I think those 3 look great dancing together. I'm a big fan of Lacey & Melissa as well, & truthfully, most of the vets who are returning. Still sad about a few who retired, especially Jacey, Ashley N, Holly, Mary, & Kinzie. As for TCC Emily, I am shocked that she made training camp but would be far more shocked if she made the team. I think she'll be among the first to get cut. I know nothing of her personality or popularity, so this is based on dancing alone. The girl just doesn't have the technique or showmanship, & last time she was on she was so clueless about her lack of technique. As others have noted, she still has thst frozen face-big eyed thing going on, and her audition video was not pleasant to watch. Looking through the pics of auditions this year, I was struck by the ugliness of her kicks. (I don't know where in the 100s of audition pics this is, but if I find it again I'll post the link here.) Her leg was up there but her foot was so, so flexed. No way she can kick beautifully in boots if she's like that in trainers. I'm rooting for Madeleine but don't think she'll make it, unless something drastically improves. I was disappointed in her audition video, as well as with Kendall's, who I'm also rooting for because she is such a hard worker & is humble & charming. I'm glad to see Whitney made camp, but I didn't see significant improvement in power or technique in her audition video over past years she's auditioned, so I'm not sure she'll make the cut. I'm not a Kelsy fan. She's a beautiful girl & dancer, but I have no patience for folks who don't do their homework/research, especially when you have a whole year to learn something about football & the Cowboys. I wouldn't trust her on an appearance & would worry she'd reinforce the stereotype thst cheerleaders are dumb. In my opinion, the DCC have too many impressive young ladies to let her bring down the IQ pool. I'm totally confused on who's who among the other TCCs, but I recall that some of my favorite dancers from the audition videos may have been in need of more glamorous makeovers. I hope they go well today & that we get a few sneak peeks! There are some great dancers in the bunch, & this seems to be a major rebuilding year. Really hoping they address the Caila & Kat issues in the finals episode. It also would be great to get a peek at how vets get ready for auditions too--learning the audition combo a few days before finals, practicing solos, helping each other &/or new candidates out. It would be a nice way to get some screen time with some vets early on (many of us complain that we see too little of our favorite vets in the seasons after they make the team), & maybe could give a little insight into vet candidates who don't feel as confident going into auditions. Like, did Caila bust as much butt prepping for auditions as, say, Megan or Jenna?
  18. Mary just can't retire yet!! She has become one of my favorites, and I believe an organization favorite, too. When they posted DCC interview clips a few months back, where a cheerleader answered a fan question or two, Mary's clip was more than twice as long as anyone else's, I think because she was so engaging and well spoken. I also remember how the cheers went up for her louder than anyone when they announced Show Group. I'm hoping she loves being a DCC enough to keep at it while engaged and after getting married. If she stays, I'd bet on Mary as a likely second leader. I could see Danielle going either way about retirement. I'd love to see Jenna as a group leader, and Kinzie too. I'd also root for Lacey and Erica to get second leaders this year. Lacey is so young, I could see her being a DCC for a long time, and eventually a candidate for point girl. I think she's a fabulous performer and a model DCC. I loved Simone on MTT, but I agree that she could be a bubble girl if she hasn't stepped up the power in her dancing. She's a really hard worker, though, so I'd like to believe that she can do it!
  19. So sad that Holly and Ashley are retiring! Watching this season, I thought that, if Ashley could get through her knee injuries, she might have been a second leader next year. She is such a fabulous performer, and seems to be very loved and admired by her teammates. ITA with other posters that Holly always seemed the epitome of everything good DCC, and I never got tired of watching her dance. I also agree that Jacie is the most likely candidate for point girl, with Jennifer a close second, and Kinzie probably moving into Jacie's spot. Any word on others who have announced retirement?
  20. I don't know about Jasmine visiting Kitty or not, but she was told her rookie year that she needs to take serious technique classes from Kitty and others around Dallas. I actually don't think she thought she could get away with her solo--the look on her face when she talked about her audition suggested to me she knew that she really hadn't rocked it, and she was scared of getting cut. I'm so sad, because I love Jasmine! She was never the best dancer, but she is a fun performer and seemed like a sweet lady, and a great team member and ambassador. I never like seeing vets cut, but she's the only one of the three cut this year I will miss. Ashley P seems so sweet and is beautiful, but I never really liked her dancing, and she always looks so scared. I suspect that, tumbling stumble aside, her solo was not amazing. It's not her fault that she doesn't have a large dance background, but she looked like a worse dancer than last year and I don't quite get that. Whoever said that they thought Breelan performed poorly in part because she knew she didn't look her best is probably right. It's hard to put your whole self out there when you know you could or have done better, and/or when you think what you're offering doesn't measure up. I think that was a big problem for Ashely P, too, and certainly part of Veronica's performance problems last year at auditions and TC. I'll have to watch it again to absorb it all, but this episode was so fun to me. The second of the season is always one of my favorites. I always love the solos, and wish they would devote twice the time to showing them. Loved rookie Megan even more than I did in the last episode, and I hope we see more of her this season. I enjoyed being "introduced" to rookie Holly, who seems like an amazing dancer and a sweet small-town girl, but seriously, I'm over Colby and her short segment did nothing to win me over. Funny that Judy put a bunch of question marks about her. My favorite laugh out loud moment, besides Kitty talking about God making Taylor's crack going boom, was when they asked the one girl to finish the sentence, "Ask not what your country can do for you," and she said something like, "ask what you can do for yourself," and THEN stated that Uncle Sam said it. Um, honey, Uncle Sam was not created to encourage Americans to be self-centered, and a far better answer in this case would have been, "I don't know." That said, it was unfortunate but not shocking that 50-yard line Kelsey still didn't know shit about football, and I agree that her lack of composure at the end of the episode reinforced the idea that she might not be the best spokesperson or ambassador for the DCC or Cowboys. I tried to dismiss Neal McCoy's potential creep factor last season and read it as enthusiasm, but I agree, he has a certain creep factor. Or maybe it's a lack of proper filter. Either way, Kelli may appreciate his honesty, but I think he could keep some of that stuff to himself.
  21. I just posted this as a spoiler in the episode 1 thread, in relation to questions about whether the show was airing tonight or tomorrow night, but because it comes from the CMT sneak peek for episode 2, I think it more properly belongs here. Apparently, Kitty Carter says to someone (Taylor, I think): For me, this might be the strangest thing she's ever said on TV (which is saying something), and I can't wait to find out the fuller context for that remark!
  22. http://www.tvruckus.com/2015/08/13/dcc-making-the-team-preview-miss-kitty-and-the-interviews-add-drama-tonight/ According to the CMT website and the link above, the show will air at 11 PM tonight, EST. I'm sure it also airs on Friday, but the CMT website seems so crazy that I can't find the full schedule easily.
  23. In my eye, Kat looks very thin, but Colby looks too skinny and less than totally natural. I often judge by what I consider the "bobble head factor," when someone's head looks too big for their body and I deduce that the body should have more mass to it, or by ribs showing through when the body is upright and relaxed. I wouldn't go so far as to say I thought Colby had real bobble head, but it's close, and the veins standing out in her muscular arms and lack of any ass just scream "not enough body fat" to me rather than healthy or sexy. In the preview for the next episode, when Kitty told her to eat a sandwich, Colby glances down and smiles in a way that says, "F U, Kitty Carter. I like my ripped body and I'm not gaining an ounce for you!" Which, of course, is her right. But so far, neither her dancing, looks nor demeanor appeal to me. Kat also has a thin frame and narrow face, but I find her look a bit softer and much more natural than Colby's, dyed blonde hair aside. Kat also came across as more genuine to me and at ease with herself when talking on camera. I'll be very interested to see both of them dance at finals tonight, and hopefully get a glimpse of them in interviews!
  24. So I was trolling the CMT site looking for new clips (to sustain me until tonight!) and I finally found the bonus segments for episode 1. One had a fuller version of the judges' discussion about Colby and Kat's appearances, and whether or not they were too skinny. Re Colby, one of the judges straight up said "too much plastic surgery." I was kind of like ouch, dang, but yes!
  25. Another question, that I'm not sure has been answered by the show (but please correct me if I'm wrong, because I really do want to know the answer): Who killed Maya, and why? Also, in thinking it over, I'm not sure Mona's murderous attack on Bethany was that spontaneous, since MonA was already playing her game and trying to scare Ali. I mean, that's a blatant, and elaborate, plot for revenge. Her excuse of thinking about every mean thing Ali had said to or about her when MonA crunched Ali/Bethany's head, I dunno. It seems like a weak excuse for murder, or even murderous rage, for a sane person. I don't think Mona is exactly right in the head, mind you, (she did run over her bestie with a car) but this seems like more proof that she shouldn't be out and about in the world so unsupervised. Last, I wanted to share something that made me LOL when I saw it online (I forget where): Charles is an anagram. Backwards it spells Selrahc, which makes no sense. Just like this show. Ha. I just LOLed again.
