  2. I finally watched I'm Your Man on Hulu. It's a German language movie so you'll need to be okay with subtitles. It's definitely on the weirder, quieter end of rom-coms. More like The Lobster or Ruby Sparks or Destination Wedding. I think it's more charming and less intense than any of those movies but if I said it was quirky like Amelie, it'd give you the wrong impression and I think you need to go into this movie with your calibrations pitched appropriately. It's very European. I found it consistently funny but not in a laugh out loud kind of way. The pacing is a little slow at times but it's worth sticking with it. The actors are charming and Dan Stevens is partially great in this role. It asks questions about the nature of love and humanity and loneliness and what we should expect in relationships but it never felt too heavy or philosophical to me. What I appreciated most is it very much felt like a movie that was written and directed by a woman and that prioritized the female character's POV. Spoilers but content warning for
  3. As someone who does vermicomposting, I'm somewhere in the middle on the worm costume. I do think it's fun that she goes all out and doesn't care about being sexy (even if she had a revealing sparkling bodysuit underneath). But they also made it kind of gross to accommodate her body and it ended up in a worm with very bloated and strange proportions. Also, it read well from a distance but worms don't have that much color variation up close. Cool for Halloween but I would not be impressed if that was on Face Off.
  4. Are these available on any streaming service in the US? That reminds me... I definitely need to hunt down TaskMaster after this season of TAR is over.
  5. Same. Sorry to the other teams, but I'd still prefer if the most competent racers won. I wish there was more of Quinton but maybe he only throws off little asides to camera. The way they always seem to include it when Claire says something and then rolls her eyes to camera.
  6. It was so nice to watch the show at 9pm. I was a little distracted today so I didn't take notes. I liked having a leg where navigation made a big difference again. I was sorry to see Glenda and Lumumba go but they seemed way too far behind... and the van ran into a ditch, no matter what shenanigans the editors tried to pull showing David and Aubrey struggling with navigation. The castle task seemed exhausting with all of the running around. The actual task didn't seem too difficult once you figured out there were 5 clues that had to go in the right order. They definitely could have made it harder by having more name plaques than needed. I was impressed with Michael and Marcus really powering through after Michael left his keys at the task. Walnuts isn't really a strength task but I think they had a slight advantage. I was surprised so many teams were put off by the games. The walnuts were an endurance task where the games had a bit of skill/luck but a better chance of getting through it faster. KF didn't make David/Aubrey too unlikable but I would have preferred it if Glenda and Lumumba stayed. With fewer teams, Luis is becoming a little much but not to the point of being unlikable. I just feel like they could still leave that stuff out of the edit.
  7. I get the desperation but not having money to drain feels like it makes them poor targets for scams. Presumably you'd want people with money in the bank who haven't exhausted all their other options.

    Media Thread For Feud

I watched the first few episodes of Feud: Betty and Joan when it aired but my DVR stopped recording them and I haven't been able to revisit it until it got added to Hulu. Aside from the little inaccuracies, I'm really noticing just how much older all the actresses cast look than their real-life counterparts at the time this is supposed to take place. Sometimes they hide it, but sometimes it's really obvious. Also, yeah, no one looks like who they're supposed to be playing except maybe Sarandon. The script really smacks you over the head with its "commentary."
  9. I'm just hoping a rock album doesn't mean duets with Miley. I know she inexplicably has fans now but I find her voice as piercing and unlistenable as ever.

  11. If everything was in walking distance, perhaps even a shorter walk than when they were wandering around Florence delivering food/looking at the fashion shoots then they really should have given them maps. Like a basic map with the path outlined. Because navigation was not a big part of this leg and only giving them the location names meant a lot more interaction with people asking for directions. I don't think it would be bothering me if it didn't seem like a pattern. He joked when she fell last week (not seeming to check on her or comfort her at all first). It goes back to yodeling and her being tone-deaf. If she's self-critical, he agrees a little too much, and otherwise he makes unnecessary jabs. I don't think he's the worst person ever but he likes to joke at her expense and he's nowhere near as meaningfully encouraging as other race partners. Claire can be dry and sarcastic herself (though it never seems pointed at anyone else) so maybe she doesn't mind, but it bothers me. Yeah, given the tasks lately, 45 minutes could have a big impact. Though I'm hoping France will mean more self-navigation that puts some room between the teams.
  12. From the live chat thread. I've been noticing for a while how he keeps undermining her. It's always little comments that don't seem malicious but... Like her fall at the mat last episode.
  13. Well, that was another kind of boring episode. Jordan was a bit of a letdown. I think it was the race/challenge design. Except for Glenda and Lumumba getting stuck at dancing, everyone really bunched up this leg, without the excuse of it being the first half of a megaleg. The fact that teams could just run past the pit stop and easily circle back after the roadblock? Meh. I guess that answers the question of what happens if people have a positive covid test. Sucks for them. Can't say they should have done anything differently unless they were wildly irresponsible in a way we didn't see. Just bad luck, I guess, crossing paths with someone carrying the virus. I did notice the teams all wearing their masks more often this episode. It was very awkward how the locations were within walking distance but they had to keep asking random people for their phones or computers for directions. Did TPTB not give anyone a map? It's not really navigation if you can run there. Just give them a simple map. Dumb. The dance did not seem that complicated compared to the other dance they had to do in Austria. At least, it seemed more like walking (so it would have been fine for less athletic teams) but you still had to memorize the choreography. I can't do that so I would have gone with the alphabet task. Marcus and Michael were smart to realize they really only had to each memorize half of the letters. When you cut it down to just 14 monosyllabic letters, pronunciation is really the tough part. I don't know if the other instructors were harsh or if the other teams were just struggling, but I found Emily and Molly's instructor really cute and encouraging. I know they were just teaching grown adults the alphabet but she seemed to be the best teacher. Derek sounded like a wookie. The park with the carts seemed poorly set up. Was there any yellow and red signage? tbh, before teams starting showing up, it just looked like garbage. I would have been wary about just wandering around and touching things until I saw anything with TAR signage. Quinton taking a second to wink was adorable. They're a likable team but we see so little of them compared to the others because of their placement. And yet they seem to do well at tasks (so we're rarely watching them repeat things over and over). It was crazy that Luis' cart was falling apart but he could still leave the roadblock and they still made it to the pit stop first. On the other hand, Michael was way too much of a perfectionist with his cart to lose their lead like that. I hope the military brothers aren't losing steam. I did find it very sweet when Lumumba told Glenda something like 'you're not a failure because you're struggling.' The good thing about the early elimination is at least they were still in it and could find the patience to finish the leg. We'll see how bad the 45 minute delay hurts them. Apparently they're already going back to Europe? I'm hoping for more driving/self-navigation. Is anyone going to take a look at Emily's leg?
  14. I thought One Killer Question was fine. Short, which is good. And not too cringe. I did skip the episodes (after the first one) where none of the guests were actors on the show. I appreciate the little hangouts with the actors even if there are no big revelations but I don't need the opinions of randoms. I prefer to read this board ;) If I miss the show enough in the coming months I might listen to their podcast. Doubtful though unless I like the hosts. I didn't get through more than a few episodes of The Good Place podcast and completely fell off when I didn't like the finale.
  15. Yeah, it would have been easier for him to believably overpower Bunny and it would have given Poppy the opportunity to be downstairs with Cinda without straining credulity. Though, I guess he needed to be at work. No, I think it's just the guy who is on the board of the building (or whatever it's called). He's there in the other meeting when Bunny is supposed to retire but doesn't. imdb tells me the actor's name is Damani Varnado and his character is Liam Grimsby
  16. I'd have to scan through the titles but I'd classify some of her murderers as crazy and some as sociopaths. I don't think it's as bad as the 6th Ave Slasher (or whatever Marv called him). The killers in each season had motive and didn't behave in a completely off the wall way. They just went to extremes. I don't think it's that much crazier than killing a lover out of jealousy or killing a spouse for the insurance money. Poppy is quite rational and motivated more by ambition than psychopathy. Thank you. It seemed obvious it was a stunt person, but I kept second-guessing with the figures being so closely analyzed here. I think she was still looking for Cinda's approval as the person whose podcasts inspired her to leave her miserable life. Also, spin off podcasts under a network can do quite well and it would be easier to use Cinda's infrastructure and built-in audience rather than starting on her own like the OMITB group did. idk... there's clearly an influence from Serial. And I listened to season 1 and don't remember what any of those people look like. Besides, attractive white women are the ones who tend to get media attention when they're missing/killed and one of Poppy's accusations when she's complaining about why Mabel would get a podcast over her is that Mabel is prettier Worse... saliva. What was she doing with the knife??? There weren't hints directly to Poppy. But it was suspicious since last season that Poppy and Cinda were already there when they were being led away (even with the implausibility of Poppy being able to run downstairs that quickly). And Jan did tell Charles that they were looking for storyteller. We had a rough sense of her build (enough to rule out some other characters). We knew it was someone who wanted to frame the OMITB crew, though the assumption was some personal grievance. I guess anyone could have used a different phone but in this case, the texts came from an unfamiliar phone number. We knew the person was interested in the painting/Rose. I think the real issue with a lack of hints is that you usually expect a killer to have a grievance towards the victim (especially with a violent/aggressive murder) or the people being framed. You can only understand Poppy's motives when you know it's Poppy/Becky. They don't apply to anyone else. Oof. Now, I'm feeling a little bad for Poppy/Becky. πŸ˜… Imagine not even being memorable to the person you killed.
  17. Poppy/Becky didn't know that Alice wasn't violent. And like with the slo-mo and the tomatoes, I think the point was just to disorient her. Charles' stabbing diverted focus and then Cinda praising Mabel gave Poppy/Becky a push over the edge so she was primed when they started to really question her. I think she was okay with them both getting a great ending to their respective podcasts. And also, how would she have gotten the confession on her own? We know Poppy/Becky was doing all the work. TOTALLY. Also, I wonder if this means Jonathan (Howard's new bf) will be involved. Not in the murder, just in the play or the general storyline. Also, that Cinda would be gushing over anyone. She seems too narcissistic. I think the original plan was to frame the OMITB trio and hope Cinda would give her a show. Mabel gave her a push that showed her Cinda would never give her that approval. And then I think she was prepared to let Cinda take the fall for the murder. idk... maybe she thought they could coerce a false confession out of Cinda. What's strange is that Becky/Poppy kept leaving these items around to frame them. But the police weren't really investigating. And as far as we know, Cinda wasn't revealing those things on her podcast. Those would be dramatic revelations on a podcast. Without being able to reveal the evidence in their apartments on Cinda's podcast (because it would implicate her), it was just messing with the OMITB crew without the listeners of either podcast or the police being the wiser. I assume Poppy was trying to solve the mystery of Rose's disappearance. She didn't want to buy the painting. She just had a lot of questions. I assume Bunny was getting sick of her. And so it was easy to start thinking about framing the OMITB gang, especially with her bf telling her the mean old woman deserved to be killed and Poppy/Becky deserved fame. If Poppy was moving through the walls, she could have unlocked Mabel's apartment from the inside before going to Bunny. I am glad because his body type and Alice's body type never made sense for the killer they kept showing us. Truly nowhere near goopy enough
  18. OK, it's even funnier now that Becky/Poppy didn't tell Cinda it was Chicka-shay and allowed her to keep saying Chicka-shaw Liverwurst and marmalade... that would make me break "I'm gonna strangle that bird" πŸ˜„ Well, that's a lot of backstory for Lester. I CACKLED when Charles started moving towards Cinda in slow motion. It's so fun seeing Steve Martin do physical comedy. I liked that it was Poppy. First, I was very into it being Cinda. Then I was disappointed it was the too obvious Alice. Then Charles got stabbed and that got me engaged again. And then when Cinda was talking up Poppy, I started to see a third twist! Also, Poppy's body type is a much better fit than Alice's slim frame so I don't feel tricked by the disguised figure that was always skulking around (though I'm still guessing there was a stunt double). I do feel like the show was tricky in showing us Kreps turning around to see Cinda. Having all these characters from the building participate in the reveal of the murder made it much more fun. Their reactions were perfect. I do think it was a compelling reveal. Poppy being Becky makes it all come together. She wasn't an ordinary unappreciated assistant. She was a superfan of Cinda's who had tried to escape her old life for podcast fame. She used Not OK to frame the boss who was sexually harassing her. She was ambitious enough and desperate enough for Cinda's approval to murder Bunny. She framed our trio because it made for a good story, not because she hated them in particular. Also, two collaborators and one killer makes sense with all the running around. Becky's saliva was on the knife??? Did she lick it? I assume Bunny had to be delirious from the blood loss to give such a useless clue in her dying words. Brazzos' miracle cure and making a date with Joy was pretty adorable. I never hated Cara, but I think Mabel forgave Alice too easily even if she did help solve the murder. Even being friends after Alice's crazy art project... it'd take some time. A lot of time. Mabel renovating the apartment is a good move for her though. I wonder if that means her aunt will FINALLY show up in season 3. Will knowing the whole time and that acceptance of their relationship regardless of DNA... it wasn't necessary, but it was very sweet. Now, Oliver getting a chance to direct a Broadway show again... that was progress. Ahhh!!! Paul Rudd is the season 3 victim. And he was killed while in a play with Charles that was directed by Oliver. Charles seems like a good suspect right now but it doesn't feel nearly as incriminating as the way season 1 ended. I don't know if I'd call that barbershop yodeling as much as a capella with some yodeling noises thrown in there.
  19. I'm fine with it. Everything can't be Clue. And if I wanted to watch a murderer trying to get away with it, I'd watch Columbo. My issue with season 1 is that I didn't buy Jan and Tim as a couple.
  20. Hiding the painting under the birdcage is fun... but seems like a terrible way to preserve a painting. So Leonora WAS an imposter. I am glad Leonora and Rose weren't the same person though. Oh, no... the poor flying monkeys stuck in the rafters. Excessive Force Gym πŸ’€ I love Winnie "I mean, I was a bad student, but you're just... a stupid man." πŸ˜„ Rapaport is perfect casting for this part. Glad Mabel got in a few shots at his arm. So... Cinda and Kreps. It was killing me that Mabel took sooo long to put it together. Pairing Martin Short and Nathan Lane for those combo scenes of physical comedy and dramatic acting... I would rather they hadn't gone in this direction for Will but they're making the most out of it. That was a really lovely Mabel as Freida painting/puzzle. Cinda being the criminal mastermind is hilarious after all the hate comments on this board. Why would she kill Bunny though? Loved the choice of Fiona Apple over the credits.
  21. Stairs are much tougher cardio than walking. You're using different muscles to pull yourself up. Also, it is bad on the knees. Good point. It's surprising no one else sneezed with all the dust and cobwebs. The passageways have been very good for Halloween vibes.
  22. It's funny that the Arconiacs have their own fancast. I do think the podcast has been downplayed a little this season, which I don't mind. lol, it's like the writers heard the Marv theories. Ivan bringing Oliver all the dips πŸ˜„ That little noise he made... the man loves dips Sevelyn is adorable. They better not hurt that kitty cat. I didn't expect Ursula to have such a strong voice. I know there are a bunch of theater people hidden in the cast, but usually I recognize them. Thank goodness Lucy found them before the killer found any of them. I thought Mabel was grabbing the dips for Oliver but using them as a weapon also works Ooh, I recognize that actor from A Strange Loop. A shame Howard's blackout date didn't work out. But I'm glad he found the bravery to ask him out for real. So wholesome. Idk... Rapaport seems too tall. But his shoulder hurt and he had red glitter on his neck. Will they invent a reasonable explanation next episode?
  23. I've been rewatching Cold Case. They use this for a sympathetic killer or accidental death a lot. Can't be Pippa. Way too young. I can handwave and assume if they were there in the morning, no one would have showed up until closer to opening. Fair point about Glitter Guy behaving weirdly though. True. I'm old but I think the toy ring would have just been in the plastic case, not in it's own jewelry store velvet box. The sign for applause is also fun. There's another one that looks like spirit fingers that I saw translated as "amazing" though that's apparently not correct. It's not snow. I don't know what the laws are about babies acting but I'd hope good parents wouldn't want to hand over a newborn (especially since they're filming during a pandemic). I thought the opposite. Mabel, this is not the time for your personal revelations. Or at least tell him you just want to talk out loud to yourself.
  24. Honestly, I'm more interested in the other claims. Did she lie about her father and co-opt his backstory? Did they live in a shack without a toilet? Did she invent the name Sacheen (or was she just confused on its meaning) and the backstory for Littlefeather? Was that really the treatment in the mental hospital? Did she participate in the occupation of Alcatraz? That's what made the original opinion article compelling to me... that Sacheen was presented as a scammer who was inventing these stories about who she was and what had happened to her.
  25. This is a weird point to keep arguing. I'm saying if Jacqueline Keeler found the records the first time, it should be easy to verify. If not, that puts her claims into doubt. And overall, I'm just tired of "journalism" being summarizing information obtained by someone else but that's a conversation unrelated to celebrity news. Fair. Those opinions will shift in different communities and based on the specific individuals in question, and if they want to claim her regardless, that's their prerogative. I'm just hesitant to sign on to the twitter mindset that people you like are automatically trustworthy and if someone has behaved badly, it discredits everything else about them.
