  1. I thought the pacing of Mijo was generally fine. The bread stick scene did drag on a bit. It almost had the feel of one of those intentionally repetitive, drawn out gags on "Monk", which I never really cared for.. Speaking of "Monk", I'm thinking Chuck and his "condition" might be played for somewhat similar effect. I think the plot moved on pretty well. The skater story was resolved (though I think that was just a device to get the real story going.) and we had the great scene in the desert. Jimmy has now become an effective, money making PD with great confidence. More importantly, Jimmy has started a relationship with criminals who are associates of the cartel, who want to work with him. That opens up all sorts of possibilities.
  2. What about gasoline? Wouldn't the gas they are siphoning out of cars that has been sitting there for years begin to lose it potency? I know they recommend not storing gas for generators for too long or adding gas stabilizer. Also, wouldn't the car batteries start to die after years of not being used?
  3. Probably the most intelligent thing Skyler ever said. :-)
  4. Maybe. :-) You are the first person to get the reference as far as I know.
  5. I'd like to see Tuco and Badger go javelina hunting together some time. Badger could get them with the bow and Tuco could skin them.
  6. It is possible they covered them or brought them inside when it rained. I think the magazines would protect the ammo adequately for short periods of light rain or humidity. They used their guns a lot so no one magazine of ammo would sit out there too long without being fired. The ARs might have crapped out on them, but the AKs would keep firing, even if caked in walker guts. :) What bothered me was that Carl had a lever rifle with no rear sight and the rear sight where the front sight should be. When Daryl told him it would take a miracle shot to kill the Governor from 50 yards, it would have been an idiotic statement, as 30/30 rifles take deer at 100 yards or more all the time. A good rifleman could take out Philip's good eye from 50 yards. But given that he would be shooting with no sights, I guess it would be a miracle. :)
  7. Ammunition will usually keep fine for decades, as long as it doesn't get wet, or isn't exposed to a lot of moisture. Ammo spoilage should not be a major factor 2 or 3 years into the ZA.
  8. I think it could have been a combination, but I thought he was mainly running from the authorities. Remember, Saul arrived at the Disappearer's place after Walt was already there. I think he may have been temporarily running from Jesse, before that, but I'm not sure who else he would have seen as a threat. I guess the Nazis were aware of him, since he helped broker the deal with Vamanos Pest, where Todd worked. but I didn't get the idea they were out to kill anyone, except Jesse, until the whole thing with Walt blew up. Once Walt was exposed as Heisenberg and believed to be the murderer or Hank and Gomey, Saul would be under tremendous heat from the DEA.
  9. I am a fan of both shows, but I almost fell asleep during that lousy episode of TWD and missed BCS. :)
  10. I think the keys for post Heisenberg Saul would be: a) Was the recording of Jesse's confession still at the Nazi compound or did they destroy it after viewing it? b) Would Huell or Kuby talk to the DEA? Between the 2 of them he could be linked to a conspiracy to poison a child, launder money, extortion, fraud, etc. c) Were there any records linking Walt, Jesse and Saul? Could he be linked to Skyler and if so how would that affect him? Would Skyler flip on him? Bottom line is, I am pretty sure the DEA, which would be out for blood, would nail Saul for something if he stayed in ABQ.
  11. Definitely a calmer, pre-tweaker Tuco (though still violent and crazy). I think when Nacho spoke up in the desert, it was supposed to be a parallel to No Doze saying "As long as you know who is boss" or something to that effect to Walt and Jesse in the junkyard. 2008 Tweaker Tuco probably would have beat the crap out of Nacho, as he did No Doze, rather than letting him go on and basically taking his advice.
  12. When Jimmy was leaving HHM, he saw the AEC (alleged embezzling couple) talking with the lawyers from HHM. I believe that is what caused him to beat down the trash can like Tuco beating down someone who tried to punk his abuelita. As for why, I guess they probably decided to go with HHM and mentioned the other guy who was trying to woo them.
  13. Ah! I hadn't made the connection that the matchbook came from the Kettleman's. BTW, it is Betsy, not Becky. "Becky" was Walt's neighbor on the left...or was it the right? :-). And it is "alleged embezzling couple", though they do have quite a nice house and boat. Remember, "Until proven guilty, every man, woman and child in this country is innocent!" :-)
  14. No question, Saul was most certainly a criminal in his BB days. When we are first introduced to him, Jesse tells Walt that he is the guy they need to defend Badger because "You don’t want a criminal lawyer, you want a criminal lawyer." He probably would have been about on the level of Jesse Pinkman as a prime target of the DEA, once it was revealed that Walter White was Heisenberg. Only Walt, Nazi Jack and his gang and Lydia would possibly be bigger targets if the facts were known (and they were all dead by the end of the show). Saul, laundered drug money, arranged a million dollar drug deal between Fring and Walt (and a smaller one with Jesse later). He conspired with Walt and Jesse to help Jimmy in and out frame himself as "Heisenberg". He helped Mike, Jesse and Walt find a location and criminal partners for their meth operation and took a large cut of the profits. (Remember, before Mike was cut in, Saul, Jesse and Walt were the "Three Amigos") He sent Kuby to defraud Bogdan into selling the car wash and Kuby and Huell to extort Ted into paying his back taxes, at the behest of Skyler. He continued to receive a cut from Walt on the Declan/Lydia meth operation. He also suggested hits on Mike, Jesse and Hank at different times, though Walt rejected those ideas.
  15. Regarding Jimmy's law school diploma, IIRC from BB it was from The University of American Samoa. :-)
  16. I thought I'd start a thread where people could post their ideas or mini scripts for Breaking Bad cameos on BCS. Here is my first offering: Camera opens on a framed diploma hanging on the wall, it is for a Business degree from UNM in the name of Domingo Molina. In the background we hear a jingle: Don't let shoppingStrain your brain-o,Just sing this short refrain-o.Our furniture is bueno,Tampico is the name-o" Domingo is shown working on his PC in the office of Tampico Furniture. He smiles as he puts the finishing touches on a 5 year budget, forecast and financial plan for Tampico, that he is certain will grow the business exponentially. Enter Mr. Molina, Domingo's father and owner of Tampico Furniture. Mr. Molina (in Spanish with English subtitles) : "Domingo, I need you to do some deliveries and installations today." Domingo (angrily), "Dad, we've talked about this before. I'm not a delivery boy, I have a college degree!" Mr. Molina: "Two of my drivers called in sick and the deliveries need to be made! What am I to do, Domingo?" Domingo (enraged) : "F--k you, Dad! And, F--k your extended warranties!" Domingo begins to storm out , then turns to Mr. Molina grabs his crotch and yells, "Extend this, Dad!" then storms out. Outside the store, Domingo dials his cell phone, someone answers on the other end, "Yeah?" Domingo replies, "It's Krazy-8, I'm in, Tuco."
  17. I'd love to see the skateboard twins in a scene with the the twins from, Leonel and Marco. An axe would be involved, of course.
  18. Tuco - "That makes me the king!"
  19. Oh yeah? Tell that to Harlan Pepper. :-)
  20. Chuck clearly thinks he suffers from sensitivity to EM fields. Reminds me of a character on "Northern Exposure" who was a very, successful man, who believed he had developed multiple chemical sensitivity and turned into a recluse. IIRC the writers on that show left it ambiguous as to whether he had a real affliction or was just nuts. The consensus was that he was nuts, but I believe one time he correctly "sensed" some sort of chemical spill hundreds of miles away. I wonder if the BCS writers will do anything like that with Chuck.
  21. Even on BB, Saul fought hard for his clients and seemed to only turn on them reluctantly when his own life was threatened. He refused "Mr. Mahew's" bribe to keep Badger from cooperating with the DEA and only changed his tune when Walt and Jesse threatened to kill him in the desert. He risked his life to bring Walt and Jesse together at the laser tag place and refused to give Mike Jesse's new address and then fed him a fake one. He also went to see Jesse at the PD to get info for Walt on where Fring would be vulnerable and he made the call to the DEA warning that there was a hit out on Hank. So I don't think the Saul from BB was that much different than the Jimmy negotiating for the skateboarders lives in the desert. Funny that Jimmy discovered the beauty of the plea bargain with Tuco in the desert and that he had a gift for it. When you think about it, in his closing argument in the skull sex trial, he was really trying to work out a sort of plea deal with the jury. The plea bargains were also far more profitable as he could make multiple $700 fees per day, rather than spending weeks to make one fee on a trial.
  22. It will be interesting to see how the Mike character develops. On BB, it always seemed odd to me that Gustavo Fring's right hand man and enforcer moonlighted doing side jobs as a PI for Saul. If Saul "discovered" him, working as a parking attendant and introduced him to his cartel connections, it would make much more sense that Mike continued to to jobs for him out of loyalty.
  23. While BB had a lot of suspense, we pretty much knew Walter White was not going to be killed until the final episode. Obviously, we know Saul can't die, because he was alive years later, but if WW was killed the show would end. If they can develop some supporting characters that the audience cares about that could provide opportunity for suspense. I didn't care much about the skateboarders, but I felt suspense over their "sentence" from Tuco.
  24. Way better than the pilot. Much faster paced, more interesting plot and much funnier. But already a good cook and respectful of his elders. :-)
  25. I am also hoping Tuco will bring some of his BB associates into Jimmy's world. There were only brief clips, but I got the sense from the previews that 2002 Tuco is not quite as crazy as circa 2008 Tuco (after years of snorting meth off a bowie knife) . He seemed calmer. That would fit the BB story line as I always thought Tuco was too crazy and too much of a loose cannon to be trusted by the cartel, especially north of the border. If he had been less crazy as he rose to power it would make more sense.
